Automate service fulfillment for customers with the Cisco® Bandwidth
on Demand (BWoD) with Calendaring application. Customers can create
instant, dynamic tunnels between nodes on their existing networks with
the flexibility to define both start and end times of service selections
based on feasibility and network availability. The request is then
automatically managed for the duration of the service. Cisco BWoD
has been built for scale with the capability to process thousands of
customized configuration-based orders in parallel.
Cisco BWoD with Calendaring enables you to use existing
physical infrastructure to provide your customers on-demand access
to a variety of bandwidth, latency, and resiliency configurations.
The application incorporates service scheduling, costing, provisioning,
and managing in an all-in-one solution through complete
application-to-infrastructure integration.
Value Delivered
The Cisco BWoD with Calendaring application enables new networkautomation–based revenue opportunities for service providers while also
improving operational efficiency.
Some common end-customer use cases include:
• High-volume data backups across the WAN.
• Facilitating video conferencing and video streaming (town-hall style)
across the WAN.
• Supporting instant, temporary, network services and bandwidth
requirements for major events.
• Service assurance for SLA-driven offerings (for example,
critical applications).
• Disaster recovery.
• Guaranteeing bandwidth for container-based environments.
• Active-active data centers.

Cisco Bandwidth on Demand Solution
Working on top of the Cisco WAN Automation Engine (WAE)
and Network Services Orchestrator (NSO) this pre-tested and
pre-integrated BWoD solution streamlines otherwise complex network
services configuration. You can introduce software-defined networking
(SDN) services into your network much faster and more reliably with
Cisco BWoD with Calendaring.
Rich Feature Set
We have designed the Cisco BWoD application with a rich feature set:
• With on-demand bandwidth, end-users can create instant, dynamic
tunnels between nodes of their service provider’s existing networks.
• Calendaring enables end users to set the start and end times of their
service selections based on feasibility and network availability. The
application then manages the request for the duration of the service.
• Costing enables service quoting and purchasing to be conducted
directly through the Cisco BWoD with Calendaring application.
• OSS and BSS support enables faster integration with more than 170
existing systems, including those from Salesforce and Oracle.
• RESTful APIs enable easy development of services working on top
of Cisco BWoD with Calendaring that can quickly be deployed to
end users.
• Service View is an optional, web-based GUI, which provides an
out-of-the-box customer portal.
