Based on the order of High Court/ Chennai the works was commenced
as per original approved route. Subsequently, the works was stopped
based on the interim stay orders issued by the High Court Chennai. The
stay was cleared for 8 locations on 21.09.12 and for balance one location
hearing postponted to 11.10.12. Action taken to execute the work at 8
location with police protection. In the mean while, Supreme Court issued
stay for four weeks on 05.10.12 for all Locations

Row issues at 3 locations in respect of M/s Venkatesh Coke, District
collector/ Thiruvallur has issued orders on 18.05.12 against the
TANTRANSCO to deviate the line away from the parties land. Writ
appeal has been filed against the orders of the District Collector and
interim stay granted for 4 weeks. The work had stopped as the
petitioners had obtained interim stay order. Last hearing held on
19.10.12 & 02.11.12.Next hearing posted to 06.11.12.
Remark: Startup power no issue. TNEB stated that unit can be commissioned using ATS of Vallore TPS (to be get confirmed in the meeting). For evacuation from 2nd unit

March 2013 (anticipated) which is likely to be shifted because
(i) Permission for tree cutting from Assam Forest Deptt. is yet to be
received and consequently commencement of work in 72 locations is
getting delayed;
(ii) Forest clearance is pending for additional stretch of 1.034 Km of
forest part of which was earlier declared by Assam Forest Deptt. as non
forest area during the processing of original proposal;(iii) Deterioration of
law and order situation in Kokrajhar District in previous months affected
progress;
(iv) Prolonged monsoon and flood situations in Assam adversely
influenced progress ; and
(v) Unprecedented rise in water level in Brahmputra river till last week of
October 2012 delayed recommencement of work in well foundations by 1
month.
