Dr. Thomas A. Horan is Professor and Director of the Center for Information Systems and
Technology (SISAT) at Claremont Graduate University (CGU). He holds concurrent positions as
Director of the Kay Center for E-Health Research, and Associate Director of the Advanced GIS
Lab. Dr. Horan has over 25 years of experience in major e-government and e-health innovations and his work on GIS and Safety has recently been featured by the US White House. Dr. Horan’s research has been sponsored by numerous organizations, including the California HealthCare
Foundation, Blue Shield Foundation, US Social Security Administration, US Department of
Transportation, National Science Foundation, and CERS/Mayo Clinic. He has 130 publications, including in major journals such as Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association ,
Communications of the ACM, Journal of the AIS, Communications of the AIS, MIS Quarterly
Executive, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Government Information Quarterly, and
International Journal of Healthcare Technology and Management.
