COURSE OFFERINGS
ELEMENTARY 1
For absolute beginners. Learn nouns, adjectives, verbs in the present
tense, directions, days and months and how to tell the time. You
will be able to introduce yourself and have a conversation.
ELEMENTARY 2
This course introduces prepositions with articles, irregular verbs
in the present tense, the plural of possessive adjectives, and a
brief overview of the past tense.
ELEMENTARY 3
Focuses on the simple past tense, regular and irregular forms, and
the present perfect with emphasis on auxiliary verbs. Introduction
to “il partitivo” and direct object pronouns.
ELEMENTARY 4
Focuses on the imperfect tense. You will increase your vocabulary
with emphasis on indirect object pronouns and the verb “piacere.”
Learn idiomatic expressions.
ELEMENTARY 5
Focuses on the future tense, reflexive verbs, the pronoun “ne,” and
relative pronouns. Vocabulary and expressions are introduced
through grammar study and conversation.
ELEMENTARY REVIEW
For students who have completed all elementary levels and
would like a review. Also for students with previous knowledge of
Italian who would like a refresher course.
INTERMEDIATE 1
A more in-depth knowledge of the grammar covering the passive
voice, the gerund, the conditional and comparative.
INTERMEDIATE 2
Focuses on learning combined pronouns, informal and formal
imperative, possessive, demonstrative, and stressed pronouns.
INTERMEDIATE 3
Entirely dedicated to the study of the subjunctive in all its tenses
and uses, as well as in the conditional clause.
INTERMEDIATE 4
Short readings on history are introduced. A review of the
subjunctive, the past anterior and the future perfect.
INTERMEDIATE 5
Readings and new vocabulary are discussed in detail and
grammatical and idiomatic structures analyzed i.e. The uses of
“ci”, the use of the infinitive, fare + infinitive, lasciare + infinitive,
and lasciare + the subjunctive.
INTERMEDIATE REVIEW
Grammar is reviewed in this course. Selected readings are
discussed and conversation is emphasized.
ADVANCED
For students who are fluent speakers. Readings from Italian
literature are discussed.
SPECIALTY WORKSHOPS &
INTENSIVES
LEARN ITALIAN THROUGH OPERA
Open to all levels, this course dives into the beauty and history
of Italian opera while helping students improve their vocabulary
and conversation skills through music with visual and audio
selections.
FIVE-WEEK ELEMENTARY
This course is intended for beginners who want a quick
introduction to the language. Learn nouns, adjectives and
verbs. Learn how to introduce yourself, ask basic questions and
directions.
SUMMER CINEMA
This course—conducted entirely in Italian—focuses on Italian
cinema, using both the classics’ Fellini, De Sica, Bertolucci, as well
as the Contemporaries Sorrentino, Benigni, Moretti and Garrone,
in fostering your ability to understand and communicate
effectively in Italian, while understanding alternative views
,cultures and historical contests. We will also be focusing on
technical aspects of the movie making, such as lighting, editing,
composition of the scenes, story, screenplay and dialogues.
SUBJUNCTIVE WORKSHOP
This 5 week workshop will concentrate on the subjunctive usage
and its tenses.
POP-UP WORKSHOPS
Parliamo Italiano’s workshops are a new spin on the traditional
curriculum of the school. Our instructors are dedicated to
incorporating grammar and vocabulary taught in our classes with
aspects of Italian culture to enhance conversation and knowledge
of Italian history.

If you want a course that suits your professional and personal
needs and your schedule, we recommend you choose our tailored
private Italian tutorial program. Our private lessons allow you to
customize your learning experience by meeting in a one-on-one
setting with a Parliamo Italiano teacher. Private lessons give you
the flexibility to choose your meeting location, days and times,

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
Register for our daytime or evening certificates in elementary
or intermediate Italian. Each certificate includes six levels and
can be completed within 1-2 years. Visit our website for more
information. Payment Plans are available upon request.
Daytime Certificates: $2500
Evening Certificates: $1900
*Students who register for a certificate program are eligible to
attend one specialty or pop-up workshop per semester based on
level and availability.
