學海──坎布里亞大學英國團
首先，我要感謝的是：學校讓我有機會參加今年的海外遊學，並
讓我能夠擴展視野，這次的遊學真的讓我學到很多東西，再加上我們
自己的周末旅遊規劃，使得這趟旅行真的非常充實、非常過癮。
7/13
我們從高雄搭飛機到香港〈大概 1 小時〉，再從香港飛到
倫敦〈大概 14 小時〉
，最後由倫敦前往曼徹斯特〈大概 1 小時〉，到
達當地機場時，坎大的帶隊老師會在那裏接我們，之後，我們搭學校
巴士回到坎大〈到那裏時已經是凌晨 1 點了，當時溫度攝氏 12 度〉
，
接下來轟媽就接我們到她家，結束長途的跋涉。
因為要說的實在太多了，我想大家也不想聽我們的上課內容吧，
我就大概描述我們在英國是怎麼學習、怎麼玩的！
我先來介紹學校幫我們安排的旅遊行程：
1. 第一週，學校先帶我們在蘭卡斯特的城鎮上逛街，讓我們認識附
近的商店、重要街道以及重要的購物商圈，老師會以遊戲的方式
來讓我們探索城鎮中心的每個角落，之後，我們到一家叫 EE 的手
機商店購買當地的 SIM 卡〈每一張換算成台幣 450 元〉
，然後我們
就順道去蘭卡斯特城堡，雖然城堡內一部份已經有鋪上人工草皮，
但是從牆壁上仍能看出它的古老，高聳的主堡矗立在城堡的後面，
相對於藍天白雲，其威武之姿展露於我們的雙眼。
2. 同一週，學校帶我們去位於蘭卡斯特北方的湖區，我們先到比阿
特莉克斯‧波特博物館參觀她最著名的傑作──彼得兔，再搭觀
光船到湖區的另一邊──安步賽徳，雖然這個城鎮不大，但是因
為周圍都是山導致空氣品質非常的好。
3. 同週，我們正式參觀了蘭卡斯特城堡，導說為我們介紹古時候的
女巫在這個城堡是如何被審判、囚禁及行刑的，另外，導說也讓
我們親身體驗當時女巫被關在牢中的感受，伸手不見五指的黑暗
地牢中，真的會讓人感到害怕。
4. 同週週末，學校帶我們去採草莓，讓我見識到英國的草莓園與台
灣的不一樣，還有許多種類的草莓都沒看過；到了下午，我們在
一間教堂裡喝下午茶，並有機會與來自不同地方的外國人聊天，
非常有趣。
5. 第二週，我們去了英國最先爆發工業革命的城市──曼徹斯特，
它也是新興的城市之一，我們先到曼聯足球廣場參觀，有一位導
說為我們講解曼聯的經典歷史及重要人物，不僅足球場很壯觀，
連球員休息室也很酷，室內 VIP 廳更是讚！之後，我們就在曼徹
斯特城鎮享受購物及尋找美食，路上電車、巨大的購物商店及中
國城都讓我們大開眼界。
6. 第三週，我們到莫克姆，那裡有一間古老式的音樂舞蹈廳，有一
位復古音樂老師帶動我們唱歌、跳舞和遊戲，他所呈現的音樂都
是當地古老傳統的音樂，這樣的歡樂氣氛有如回到小時候，也能
體會英國人的童年時光。
7. 最後一週，我們到了利物浦，享受著披頭四當年的光彩和參觀當
地許多的博物館，因為利物浦本是一個港口，所以它最著名的就
是鐵達尼號了，過了橋，就是人潮最多的城鎮，當然也是購物的
好地方。
8. 學校也幫我們安排了一場羅賓漢劇場秀，在一個很多山丘的公園
裡，他們將大自然做為背景，劇場秀的範圍擴及到我們觀眾的週
遭，有時他們會下來與我們互動，有時會從後面突然來一個重型
摩托車騎士，與一般的室內劇場大不同。
接下來，我要介紹我們自助旅行的部分了。在這之前，我真的要
好好感謝我的室友以及我的轟爸轟媽，沒有他們的協助，一切的旅行
就無法成立。
1. 普雷斯頓：第一週，我和我室友就能夠與轟媽轟爸談論有關旅行
的一些景點，所以我們得知了許多有用的資訊，並熱血的衝一發
到普雷斯頓〈搭火車費時 20 分鐘〉，到了那裡，我們才知道蘭卡
斯特的購物商圈是如此的小，在那裡，我們見識到了甚麼叫做真
正的購物商圈，如果真的想要血拼的，我建議去的就是這裡。

過別太急著把全部的錢花在這，因為好戲在後頭！〉
2. 卡萊爾：很幸運的，我們又從轟媽那得知這地方也是值得去看看
的城市，於是，我們事不宜遲的坐火車到卡萊爾，卡萊爾是位於
英格蘭最北方的城市，離蘇格蘭邊境不到 2 公里，在那裏，我們
參觀了卡萊爾城堡，風格完全與蘭卡斯特城堡不一樣，卡萊爾城
堡是當時英格蘭與蘇格蘭戰爭時，英格蘭用來攻擊蘇格蘭的據點
之一，還沒進到城堡，就可以看到城堡周圍又深又寬的護城河了，
一進到堡裡，我們就能感受到有一種混合蘇格蘭建築的風格，到
現在，堡裡還有一部分屬於軍事辦公地，可知這個城堡對英格蘭
是多麼的重要。
3. 愛丁堡：接下來，我們就挑戰更遠的城市，也邀請其他五位遊學
團的學生一起熱血，第二週週末，我們就搭火車到蘇格蘭第二大
城市──愛丁堡。大概兩小時的車程抵達了韋服利車站，此車站
將蘇格蘭分為南北兩個風格完全不一樣的城鎮，北方叫做新城；
南方叫做舊城。一出車站，就能看到高聳矗立在眼前的史考特紀
念碑，再往西走，就可看到愛丁堡國家美術館，各式各樣的名作
都一一呈現在裡面；在畫廊外面，可看到一大片青綠色的小丘陵，
許多外國人都會聚集在那裏野餐，到了晚上，我們前往卡頓山丘
欣賞美麗的夜景，一座類似古羅馬的建築物矗立在山丘上，非常
壯觀，之後我們就沿著王子街走回我們的旅館。第二天，一大早
我們出發到舊城裡的瑪莉國王密室，參觀最古老、最可怕的地牢；
再到一棟叫 Camera Obscura 的視覺藝術和互動的博物館，頂樓是
一個看風景的好地方；下午就到了蘇格蘭最著名的愛丁堡城堡，
站在這樣巨大的城堡面前，就會心生幾分畏懼，堡內分成許多小
展覽館，往城外看可一瞥整個愛丁堡城鎮，也是一個觀賞夜景的
好地方；另外，我們還去了蘇格蘭博物館，裡面各種的展示及雕
像真的讓人嘆為觀止！
4. 倫敦：第三週的禮拜五下午，同行七人直接搭火車前往英國首都
──倫敦，因為車程 3 小時多〈火車及地鐵〉的關係，到達時已
經接近傍晚，所以第一晚我們就繞著泰晤士河看街景，經過倫敦
眼，就可以看到遠處的 Shard，為倫敦最高建築物，河的對岸有大
笨鐘和威思敏斯特宮，加上河上頻繁的渡輪、美麗的碼頭和閃耀
的大橋，真是無法形容的完美。隔天，我們搭地鐵到柏羅市場，
這是倫敦最古老且最受歡迎的食品市場；福爾摩斯紀念公司和蠟
像館也是值得去看看的地方，但是因為大排長龍必須等 7 小時，
於是我們只在附近收購紀念品。第三天一早，我們參加當地旅遊
團──巨石陣之旅，雖然車程來回花費 4 小時，不過親眼看到與
金字塔同等值的世界遺產，也值回票價了；當然，大英博物館是
倫敦必去之地，博物館中央有一個連接最頂樓的階梯設計，上方
有一家下午茶餐廳，館內設計非常有義術氣息，每層樓都有世界
各地的歷史藝術、歷史遺跡、歷史文化供遊客參觀。
我們的自助旅行就這樣告一段落，如果想要知道更詳細的內容或

#叮嚀及建議：
1. 如果有任何問題，不要怕說錯，盡量問老師或轟爸轟媽，尤其如
果想要到處旅遊的同學，多問是一定要的。
2. 出門在外，除了要保管好自己的錢財之外，還要留意路上的
cosplay，如果他們主動來說要拍照之類的，就不要理他們，以免
被恐嚇、威脅。〈到倫敦的旅行我們就遇到這樣的情況〉
3. 如果能認識更多地方的交通方式，盡量去尋求，方便旅行。

First, all my need to appreciate is be able to join the overseas study
tour held by my university. This made me have such a chance to expand
my horizons, and I really learned a lot. Besides, we planned our weekend
free time very well, so this trip made me feel very rich and excited.
On 13th July, we took an airplane from Kaohsiung to Hongkong (for
about 1 hour), transferred to London (for about 14 hours), and then
transferred to Manchester (for about 1 hour). While we were arriving at
the airport, a teacher in the University of Cumbria had been there waiting
for us. Then we went to our college by school bus (it was about one in the
morning and was 12 Celsius degrees). And, we didn’t finish our long
voyage until our host family drove us home.
Because of so many things to talk to you and I think you do not
want to hear about courses we took, then I’ll show you how we learned
and where we travelled in Britain.
Now, I show you the travel schedule our college had prepared for
us.
On the first week, a teacher took us to walk around on streets in
Lancaster, where we lived. This way, we could know nearby stores,
important streets and shopping malls. The teacher could use a game way
to make us able to explore everywhere in town center. After that, we
found a mobile store and bought SIM cards (about $450/sheet) so that we
could contact with people more conveniently. Then we went to Lancaster
Castle by the way. Although there was artificial turf inside the castle, we
still saw how old it was. Standing behind the garden was a tall fort which
was shown to our eyes.
On the same week, we were taken to the Lake District, located on
north of Lancaster, by our teacher. We went to Beatrix Potter Museum
first to visit “Peter Rabbit,” which was the most famous masterpiece.
Then we took a big ferry to Ambleside, opposite side of the Lake District.
This town was not big but because of mountains around, the air there was
very fresh.
Besides, we went to visit the Lancaster Castle again. There was a
tour guide presenting us history of the castle. She mentioned how witches
were put to trial, how they were put in jail, and how they were executed
in this castle at that time. Also, the tour guide let us experience the feeling
when being put in jail, just like those witches. In a jail, there was not any
window so that we could not see our fingers in the dark, which really
made people feel scared.
On the weekend, we had strawberry-picking in a huge farmland. It
made me realize the difference between England’s and Taiwan’s. There
were lots of kinds of strawberry I’ve never seen in Taiwan; in the
afternoon, we had a cream tea in a church. There was a chance that we
could chat with foreigners from different countries. It might be very
interesting.
On the second week, we took a bus to Manchester, a city where
industrial revolution happened first. It was also one of newly-built cities.
We went to visit Manchester Football Square and there was a tour guide
mentioning about classic history of the football team and some important
football players. Not only the football field and rest room, but also VIP
room were cool. Later, we enjoyed going shopping and searching
delicious food in the town of Manchester. Road trams, huge shopping
stores, and Chinese City made us feel very surprised.
On the third week, we were taken to Morecambe, which had an old
hall people could play music and dance. A retro musician had come up
with many songs, dances and games, and did activity with us. The kind of
music he presented was local traditional. Such happy atmosphere was as
if we had played together when we had been little children. This way, we
could experience British childhood.
On the last week, we went to Liverpool to enjoy the Beatles’ gloss
and to visit many museums there. Because Liverpool was a port, the most
famous was “Titanic”, which had been the biggest ship all over the world.
Across a bridge, there was a crowded town that was a good place to shop.
Our college teacher also had arranged a Robin Hood theatre show
for us. In a park with many hills, they used the nature as background. The
show range extended to the audience. Sometimes they would come to act
with us; sometimes towards us from back a motorcyclist drove. This
theatre had a big difference from general indoor theatres.
Then, I’ll show you where we travelled during other free time.
Before that, I should be really thankful for my roommate and host mom
and dad. Without their help and support, these travels might not be
complied.
1. Preston
On the first week, my roommate and I could talk about some tourist
sites with my host family. As a result, we got lots of useful information
and went to Preston by train (for about 20 minutes) right away. Arriving
there, we realized that shopping malls in Lancaster were so small and got
what were really ones there. If you would like to go shopping when you
are free, I suggest that Preston is a good town to visit.
2. Carlisle
Fortunately, we got some new information from host family again.
So, we went to Carlisle on a train immediately. Carlisle, which is the
northeast city in England, is not far away from Scotland. (Distance is not
to 2 kilograms.) There, we visited the Carlisle Castle, which has different
style from the Lancaster Castle. Carlisle Castle was one of strongholds
that England used to attack Scotsmen on wars between them. Outside the
castle, there was a wide and deep moat around it. Walking into the castle,
we could see the architectural style mixing Scotland’s. Up to now, some
parts of the castle are still military offices, so this castle does mean a lot
to England.
3. Edinburgh
Then, we challenged one further city, and also invited other 5
students to go together. During the second weekend, we took a train to
Edinburgh, which is the second largest city in Scotland. About 2 hours,
we arrived at Waverly train station, which departs two different towns in
Edinburgh. The north one is called “New Town”; and the south one is
called “Old Town”.
Walking outside the train station, we saw the tall Scott Monument,
standing in front of us. Keeping going, there was a National Galleries of
Scotland, showing visitors different kinds of works in itself; outside the
galleries, we saw a large green hill where many foreigners like to have
picnicking. At night, we went to the Calton Hill to watch such beautiful
night views. Standing on the hill was a building like Roman structure. It
was very spectacular. Later, we walked along with Princes Street back to
our hostle.
The following day, we went to the Old Town to visit Mary King’s
Close, which is the oldest and the most horrible dungeon in the early
morning. Then we went to Camera Obscura, which was a museum with
visual and interactive art. The rooftop was a good place to have
view-watching. In the afternoon, we visited the Edinburgh Castle, which
was the most famous tourist site in Scotland. Just standing in front of
such a huge castle, we might feel somewhat scared. There were many
small galleries inside the castle. When we shot glances outside, the whole
town of Edinburgh was in front of our eyes, so this place was also a good
one to watch night views. Besides, we went to the Museum of Scotland.
All kinds of exhibition and statues of celebrities might make people feel
amazed!
4. London
On the third Friday, we, the same 7 people, took a train to London,
the capital of England. Because it took over 3 hours, when we got there, it
was already at dusk. As a result, along with the River Thames, we walked
and enjoyed watching the streetscape. Passing by the London Eye, from
far away, we could see the Shard, the tallest building in London. On the
other side of the river, there were the Big Ben and the Palace of
Westminster. What’s more, frequent ferries, beautiful piers and big
shining bridges together created such a beautiful night in London.
On the following day, we took a tube to Borough Market, which
was the oldest and most popular food market in London. Sherlock
Holmes Museum and Madame Tussauds London were worthy to be
visited, but due to the long line that might take us 7 hours, we just bought
some souvenirs at nearby stores.
In the third day morning, we took part in local tours to go to visit
Stonehenge by bus. Although we spent 4 hours on bus, it was worth
seeing the world heritage like the pyramid. Of course, we went to the
British Museum, too. There was a big ladder design connected to rooftop
in the middle of museum. On the big ladder was a restaurant visitors
could have afternoon tea. Design inside the museum had rich art; there
were historical arts, remains, and cultures all over the world on every
layer of the museum.
Our travel trip finished. If you are interested in any details or our

what we had in these places.
#Reminder and proposal
1. If having some problems or questions, don’t be afraid and just ask
your teachers and host families. (Especial those who want to travel
around.)
2. When you’re in other countries, you should keep your own money.
Besides, you should mind cosplay characters on the road. If someone
comes to you and have some pictures, just keep away from them in
case being threatened. (During our London trip, we were confronted
with such conditions there.)
3. If having some chances to know about transportation nearby, go to
find out as possible as you can. This way, you will know how to travel
there.

心得(1500 字以上)_中文心得：
出國讀書一個月，這對大多數人來說可能是一個夢想，可是我卻能親自去實
踐它。
藉由學測成績，我順利的申請到了學海獎學金，並選擇了英國－－很多人夢
想中的國家。從一開始的忐忑不安，到在機場沒看見自己行李時的著急，以及到
離開始得依依不捨，都會是我這輩子的回憶。
在這一個月的課程內，我們並非只在學校上課，還有許許多多的戶外教學！
第一週我們就去了湖區。雖然在台灣看過了日月潭，也在其他國家看過了很多美
麗的風景，但湖區真的是我所見過最美的地方！放眼望去就是一整片平靜的水
面，後面則是襯托著碧綠的青山，如果能生活在這樣的地方事多麼的幸福阿！也
因為如此，湖區是彼得兔誕生的地方，我們也去參觀了彼得兔博物館。說到彼得
兔，應該沒有人會覺得陌生吧！博物館內由一個一個的小模型塞滿，每個模型都
是一個故事，除了可愛還是可愛！藉由這次的戶外教學，讓我對接下來的每次戶
外活動都充滿著期待。
第二個禮拜我們去了曼徹斯特。說到曼城－－英國第二大的都市，難免會想
到曼聯球場。雖然我對足球並不感興趣，但是球場的壯觀還是令我嘆為觀止。除
了帶我們在觀眾席俯視整個球場以外，我們還進入了球員休息室、展覽館，以及
VIP 的空間。在這整個導覽中，我並沒有特別熱血沸騰，但如果是足球迷的話，
相信這個導覽能讓他們驕傲一輩子吧！
當天下午我們去逛了曼城的市區。第一次，我了解了所謂的大都市到底有多
大。相較於曼城，台灣的高雄、台北幾乎不及人家的十分之一！逛著五花八門的
商店，每個女生手上都大包小包的一堆東西。這個下午是我們最有收穫的一個下
午！而不愛逛街的男生們則去參觀了工業革命博物館。聽說那個博物館很大、很
有去參觀的價值。
在第二週的周末，我們並沒有跟著學校安排的行程走。一部分的我們自己搭
火車去了愛丁堡，屬於蘇格蘭的領地。在愛丁堡，我們不僅參觀了城堡、地下城，
還看了好美好美的夜景。而最重要的是，我們讓男生們穿上了蘇格蘭裙！這樣的
一趟旅行，學到的不僅是看到了不同的風俗習慣，更多的是獨立。在這陌生的環
境，用著陌生的語言尋找值得我們去看、去玩的地方，對我們來說是一個很大的
成長，我相信大家都以自己為榮。
第三個禮拜應該是心情起伏最大的一個禮拜了吧！在這週的戶外教學，我們
去了莫根的海邊。在一間音樂工作室，我們學會唱當地的民謠，而且大家都跳舞
跳得很開心。但相較於週末發生的事，這個工作室根本不值得一提。週末我們去
了倫敦－－大家夢想中的城市。在倫敦，免不了的就是要去泰晤士河畔看夜景。
禮拜五晚上一到，我們就沿著河畔走了兩三個小時。雖然過程中有下雨，但並不
影響泰晤士河的美。見到了兒歌中的倫敦鐵橋，也看到了一對一對的情侶在河邊
談情說愛，我們約好隔天要去看大笨鐘。隔天晚上，帶著期盼的心情搭乘地鐵到
目的地時，卻發生了大家都不想發生的事－－我們遇到壞人了！他們藉由角色扮
演讓我們放鬆戒心，然後勾著我們的肩膀要找我們拍照。但在拍完照的那一刻，
他們卻把我們團團圍住，並要我們給他們錢！那真的把我們嚇傻了！雖然當時我
身上的錢不多，但還事有同學被要走了七、八十英鎊。那真的是個很大的損失，
但也讓我們更學會保護自己。
最後一週了，我們這趟英國行也接近了尾聲。在這禮拜我們去看了公園的劇
場。欣賞戶外劇場真的很新奇，一般都是在有固定的地點和舞台演出，但這個戶
外劇場與一般的劇場不同，它是要跟著故事的內容而換到下一個場景，每一幕都
在公園裡的不同地方演出，所以觀眾要跟著演員一同移動到下個場景，這可是我
頭一次看過有這樣的表演！
經過了這四週，除了要感謝學校給了我這樣的一個機會，我還要感謝寄宿家
庭。因為寄宿家庭的照顧，我們開心的過完了四個禮拜。無論是在吃飯、或是休
息，寄宿家庭總是準備最好的給我們，並且在過程中有耐心的教導我們英國人的
風俗習慣。這四週內學到的，或許比在台灣一整年學到的都要多！感謝這次旅行
付出的所有人，更謝謝陪伴我這一整個月的好同學們！

It is a very good experience to visit the UK . We studied not only in the
classroom but also outside . The first place we visited was Lake District , which is the
most beautiful place I’ve ever been . We went to the museum which is full of Peter
Rabbit ! That was the character which I loved in my childhood.
After having the class for the whole week , we went strawberry picking !
Although there were not a lot of strawberries for us to pick , we still had a lot of fun
there . During the strawberry picking , we met many people from the other
countries . From Taiwan , Germany , Russian etc. Between all the people , the most
impressive one for me is a Taiwanese woman who has a Dutch husband . I really
envied them because they held the hand of each other for all the day !
At the same afternoon of strawberry picking , we had the traditional British
cream tea . Afternoon tea is always the most attractive place for me in British culture .
By the way , I did the project of traditional British high tea at the end of this month .
We tried the sweets which we can not usually have in Taiwan . For example , we ate
some scones and some short cookies . Also , a lot of cream cheese !
In the first week , we learned about how to make a conversation with our host
family . Those were very useful ! By the lessons , I had confidence to talk with my
host family in English . And I also learned how to take the bus to school in the first
week .
The second week is the most excited week in England ! We had the lessons
about British culture . That helped me know more about British and didn’t do
something that isn’t polite or even rude . There are some things which are really
different between British culture and Taiwanese culture . For example , Taiwanese
people take the bowl close to their mouse when they are having meal , but the
British don’t . The British stay their bowls on the table during the meal . There is
another thing need to notice during the meal : you can’t put your elbow on the table !
That is very special for us !
In the second week , we went outside too . We visited the Stadium of
Manchester United . I didn’t very like it because I didn’t understand anything about
foot ball . But I need to say that if you were a big fan of foot ball , you will love the
guidance in the Stadium of Manchester United . They did not only show you the
playground , but also the history of Manchester United and the players . They even
let us go inside the lounge of the players and the VIP room . It was really excited that
I sat on the chair that might been sat by David Beckham before !
In the second week of the weekend , we did not follow the school arranged the
trip to go . Part of our own train to Edinburgh , Scotland territory belonging . In
Edinburgh , we not only visited the castle of Edinburgh, King Mary’s dungeons , also
saw good good beautiful night . And most importantly, we let the boys wore kilts !
Such a trip , learn not only see the different customs , more independent . In this
strange environment, with a strange language worth looking to see, places to play ,
for us it is a great potential for growth , I think we all proud of myself .
The third Sunday should be the biggest one Sunday mood ups and downs of it !
In this week's outdoor education , we went to the seaside Morgan . In a music studio ,
we learn to sing local folk songs , and everyone dancing and jumping happily. But in
comparison to what happened over the weekend , the studio is not worth
mentioning . Weekend we went to London - everyone dreams of the city. In London,
Thames inevitably is going to look at night . Friday evening arrived, we walked along
the river two or three hours . Although it was raining during the walk, but it did not
let the beauty of the River Thames be bad. We also saw the London Bridge, which we
known as the children’s song, also saw a couple of one- on romance in the river , we
made an appointment the next day to see Big Ben. The next night , with hope the
mood by metro to the destination , it happened that we all do not want to happen we encountered a bad man ! They allow us to relax by RPG wary , then grab our
shoulders looking for us to take photographs . But in taking photographs at the
moment , they treated us surrounded, and want us to give them money ! That really
put us scared silly ! Although at the time my body much money, but things have been
leaving seven students , eighty pounds . It really is a big loss, but let us also learn to
protect themselves better .
Last week, we tour the UK line is also close to the end . In this Sunday we went
to the park theater . Outdoor Theatre really appreciate novelty , usually in a fixed
location and stage performances, but this outdoor theater and theater in general
different , it is necessary to follow the story and change the content to the next

the actors together to move to the next scene , this is the first time I have seen such
a show !
After this four weeks , in addition to thank the school gave me such an
opportunity , I would like to thank the host family . Because the care of homestay
family , we happy had finished four weeks. Whether at dinner , or rest , home-mom
and home-dad always ready to give us the best . And in the process have the
patience to teach us English customs . This four weeks learned , perhaps more than
in Taiwan have learned throughout the year and more ! Thank the owner to pay the
trip , but thank you to accompany me in this whole month is a good classmates !

這是難忘又收穫良多的一個月，對於我這個第一次出國的傻小子，就像是劉
姥姥逛大觀園般地處處是驚奇，而這趟旅途中似乎所有的好事與壞事都讓我們給
碰上了，班機取消、行李失蹤、到別人家做蛋糕…等，有好多的事情都是第一次
碰上，還有我們的自助旅行也是看到許多不一樣的城市和文化，像我就去了
Manchester, Preston 和 Hansham，Manchester 是英國第二大的城市，這裡的建築
物充滿了現代化和古老建築的組合，而這裡的博物館和圖書館都很值得參觀，
MOSI 是工業革命時期的博物館，裡面有很多機器在運轉，紡織機、火車、礦坑、
飛機…總共有六個館，真的不是普通的大；另外它們的圖書館幾乎都是中世紀建
築，走在長廊上真的有很多類似電影裡的場景，圖書館的自修室會讓人想待在那
裏看一整天書也不想走的感覺；還有，他們的廣場真的好漂亮喔！難怪會有那麼
多人想要坐在廣場裡聊天、玩耍，而且再走過去一小段路就是購物廣場了，這裡
的街頭藝人都很有才華，當眾做畫、B-Box、彈吉他的零零總總，購物中心不會
有很高的建築，但要把整片的商圈逛完就要考驗你的腳力了，來到這裡之後對於
品牌的認知又更上好幾層樓了，因為你很快就會發現哪些店你可以買的很開心、
哪些店你的錢包會很傷心；接著，逛那麼久肚子一定會很餓，這裡的餐館也是滿
多的，而我吃過最好吃的就是一間教 Nando’s 的葡萄牙餐廳，他的烤雞真的很好
吃，尤其是當你逛完街才發現你被晚上八點的太陽騙了的時候，你會很慶幸你走
到這間店門口，不是我在打廣告，是真的吃到最後你會發現英式料理最好吃也是
最有名的就只有 Fish&chips；此外，它們的冰淇淋是真的很好吃的，但它的價值
也會反應在價格上面，一支甜筒幾乎可以讓你買兩到四罐的家庭號鮮乳，這真的
不是普通的誇張；吃飽了眼皮難免抵抗不了地心引力，這個時候 hostel 是最好的
選擇，因為他會比 hotel 便宜非常多可以為你可憐的錢包紓緩一點壓力，當然便
宜是會有代價的，你不會有私人空間、睡在你下鋪的會是你不認識的人、一個房
間會有十到十五個人跟你共用、洗澡的時候你會發現你的衣服沒勾子可以掛、隔
音效果不太好...等，其實也沒有想像中那麼遭，因為我已經把會發生的事情都列
完了；最後就是要回家啦！在英國所有的交通工具都很貴，有時候你會發現飛機
比鐵路還要便宜，因為它的票價是一直在浮動的，還有你如果想買票最好是用網
路訂票，因為那會便宜許多，比較麻煩的是你必須要有信用卡就是了。
我第二個自助旅行的地方就是 Preston，這裡是接近 Lancaster 的城鎮，這裡
算是一個小型的交通樞紐，所以這裡的購物中心非常多，不會輸給其他的大城
市，而我必須在這裡講一件很重要的事，那就是以後到了大城市不要急著血拼，
因為像 Preston 這樣的小城鎮就有很多東西可以買了，但是小城鎮的缺點就是沒
什麼博物館，來英國沒逛過博物館就不算來過英國，這非常重要因為所有的實體
文化都存在博物館裡，如果你還來不及體驗英國文化，逛逛博物館是最快的方
法，而且可以幫你對抗你那該死的購物欲。Hansham 則是一個靠近海邊的城鎮，
我原本計畫好去看海的，結果到了那裡還是碰不到海，因為沙灘太廣了，海幾乎
是在遙遠的地平線，所以我摸摸沙子就回來了，沒看到海是我在英國唯一的遺憾。
此外，學校也有帶我們去 Lake Distric, Manchester 和 Liverpool，湖區真的好
漂亮，我們有去遊湖，而我們當的那艘船剛好是昨天英國王妃坐過的船，真的事
太幸運了！環繞在湖四周的山也很美，我長那麼大第一次深深體會到 magnificent
這個單字要如何使用，可惜那個時候可以拍照的東西都沒電了 Manchester 的話，
我們有去曼聯足球場，光是足球場就很震撼了，我們還有去球員的更衣室參觀，
我後來也買了不少紀念品，真是荷包大失血；至於 Liverpool 則是富有設計感的
城市，我們有去參觀披頭四博物館，也有去購物中心逛逛，這裡跟 Manchester
真的有明顯的差別，在 Manchester 還可以看到一些古老的建築，在 Liverpool 完
全是現代化的建築，讓人耳目一新。
這次的英國行我聽別人對話的能力確實有很大的進步，我會記住這種感覺並
且持續努力向上，總有一天我要靠自己的力量再次踏上這片土地，並且更加的深
入文化當中。

Going abroad to England was my first and best experience of different culture. I never forgot
the life in British with my friends. The people, building, food, history, and culture I learned
during that one month. Everything here liked the dream, vary information and knowledge I
hadn’t ever learned. I felt that the time is too short to do what really we have to do, because
when we just wore in the life of the local, the time we had to go back to Taiwan. That it's a pity.
Remained the education, the style of every teacher were different and free, and I liked the
listen-speak-way on the class, because it improved my communication skill quickly and easily
so that I thought it is what I needed. Therefore, our lesson was preparing information and the
report our feeling. Then after we travel to any place, we have to feedback for the teacher. I felt
that is the good way to show what the students really need and close the friendship of the
teacher and students. I think that the atmosphere well promote the effect of learning. And their
after-school-time was longer than Taiwan so that you could do more excise, read more
extracurricular books, and so forth. During in the England, I had seen a lot of people play
cricket, soccer, football...etc. they liked the sport a lot, especially the soccer is, such as
Manchester Unite, David Beckham. We also visited the Manchester United stadium, and then I
took a lot of pictures and bought many souvenirs. There are many street performers who
played the guitar, the flute, and even the piano to earn the money. They work maybe just on
afternoon or for the mood what they are at that time. And specially, I could not divide the pub,
club, bar different when I was just been to LAN, I often confused by the word because of the
definition of Taiwan is absolutely different from one of England. The pub in UK was the club in
Taiwan. The bar in UK was the pub in Taiwan. It was really difficult to differ them. Pub is the
place where you could drink some alcohol, chat, sing the songs, have some meals, and even
play pool, throw darts...etc. I remember that Kelly and I play pool with other foreign student,
and I order a glass of volka lime which is the wine good to drink. And the house I lived nearly
the canal, so I went to the school along the river every day. I always saw the ducks and swans
swim and play on the river, the boats berthed at bank or drove through the bridge, people
leisurely sit on the bench or walk along the canal, and there is a pub seat beside the river, so
you could saw some people chat and drunk. If you want to prepare to recognize the car's
brand, walking to the school is the good way, because you could see many sport car dash on
the road, such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW, Audi...and so on. By the way, the weather of
Lancaster is varied, the morning likes fall, the moon likes spring, the afternoon likes summer,
and the night likes winter, so having a coat in your bag is better than having a cold. And the
sunset of England is so late that the sky almost bright unit ten o'clock, and maybe that is the
reason of why the street lights were so few.
There are so many festivals that you would like to join, and one of the festival we enjoyed, is
the Robin Hood which is the outdoors theatre about the Little John's children was prisoned by
the court and a series of saving plan. And the all theatre separated into five stages to perform
at Williamson Park and it is a joyful style I ever look.
Remained the folk music, I remember that the day we took the bus to Morcambe, and we
walked to the house. The room of house is not big as I imaged. Then the music teacher guide
us sit and handed out the paper about the lyric of folk music. The teacher gave us some tempo
and tough us the dance with the song. That is so crazy. We cross each other's arm and turned
the circle, even we dance the waltz with our partner. It's a good experience that the picture still
in my mind. By the way, Morcambe is near the sea, there are many entertainment facilities,
and the seagulls cover the sky. I remember that some of us play with the water, but that is
another long story.
Remained to the cities, I had been to Lancaster, Lake District, Manchester, Liverpool,
Preston, and Hansham, some were teacher taking us to, some were we self-triping. And there
were many fun things such as visiting the museums, shopping, picking strawberries, boating
the lake, making some cake, barbecuing, dancing with the folk music…etc. the Lancaster
Castle rises straight up the hill and our first outdoors activity is to visit it. It has
six-hundred-eighty-eight years old and it's ever a prison which use to cast the convicts, hung
convicts to die, blame the corpse...and so forth. The narrator said that the newest prison is
used unit two years ago and the ladder spiral up to a little point what I couldn't met the end.
Following, the narrator take us to the room which cast the prisoner, then we could choose
whether stay in the room and the door closed by the narrator while the all people in the room,
the light turned off, the dark hit us for one minute that is the so special experience. The lake of
Wastwater was so huge and beautiful, then we were so lucky to boat the ship which had
boated by the queen of British yesterday. And the same day's newspaper headline is the
royal's new member, George, was born. When we on the way home, the mountain beside the
road were so magnificent that its image still clearly stay in my brain, but I don't knew how to
use the word to describe it . Manchester is the second biggest city of England, and the
museum here were too much that I can’t go around all of them just one day. For example,
MOSI is the largest museum about the industrial revolution and it totally has six venues about
textile machinery, train, miners, airplane, turbine…etc. And ever you been to the museum,
never you been to England, if you are afraid of you haven't enough time to learn more about
England culture, then visiting the museum will be the best way to do because of everything in
the museum are concrete, and they all had synopsis beside them let you easy to understand
the context. Then we also bused to Liverpool to visit the Beatles Museum where the origin of
the hip pop music is, I didn't really kwon the history of them, but I thought that the audio guide
was helpful.
And I had some self-trip experience of Manchester, Preston, and Hansham. In fact, there
are some information which you'd better keep in your mind, if you want to have a self-trip to
other city. First, booking your tickets on the internet is always cheaper than any other ways,
and sometimes airplane may be the better choice than train because of the price of transport
of England up and down at times, and the more earlier you booked, the better price you got.
Second, if you want to live overnight on the trip, hostel will be your best choice, because it is
usually safety and cheap, you have to live with strangers though. Then, couchsurfing is the
wonderful way to acquaint with local people and to find a place to spend the night, and it never
expensive than hostel even you don't need to pay for living, but its disadvantage is the host
unusually check their email. No doubt that I went to Manchester two times, Preston was a
good town to shop, and you couldn't touch the sea on the beach. Don't ask me why, because I
don't know why I do that and how it be that.
Finally, I think that the trip is worthy, for my listening skill is more improved and my view is
broaded. One day I want to foot on the island really by myself. Actually, the children who had
the abroad experience is very useful to change the attitude of learning and almost they will
more cherish every chance of improving themselves. The most important is that it clears your
life direction about interest, job, dream...and so forth. After this chance, I more steady my
dream and my study. In the future, I want to cure any patient around world, and making all
kinds of people as friends, because I am a curious and leaning-loved person. And thank for the
I-Shu University to give me the chance having how wonderful summer vacation.

從一入學就真的真的超級期待可以去英國遊學的。英國一直以來就是我最喜
歡的國家之一，雖然現在留學很盛行，但是我一直苦無機會可以出國見識見識，
而且，在我一年級的時候並沒有開英國的遊學團，今年我也已經二年級了所以這
是我最後一次可以選擇要去哪裡遊學，因此特別期待與珍惜這次學校給予的機
會。
去程的旅途真的是充滿着驚喜，也是個很特別的經驗，從與航站的服務人員
接洽，與如何確認自己的行李所在位，而且旅途真的好久，要學會自己在飛機上
找樂子的能力，畢竟是在旅途的第一天，對英語的對話還不是十分的嫻熟，因此
在機上的基本對話還不是很熟練，不過也是很好作為進入全英文國家的預先練
習，讓自己可以上緊發條，到了朝思暮想的英國後，竟然遇到了班機 delay，讓
大家都有點小驚嚇，並且要自己去跟英國機場的人員確認接下來要搭的航班即詢
問原因，也因為航班的 delay 而導致行李滯留在倫敦的機場。
從這裡面真地學到很多，大家經過一整天的飛行航程都很累了，知道應該要
互相體諒一些情緒問題並且彼此幫忙分擔，還有出國原來行李遺失也是可以保保
險的，從前就不曉得這些我應該要曉得的事情，從這次的經驗中，真的學習到很
多，反而不會認為它是一種不好的經驗，而是另外一種不同的體驗，並且讓我之
後更加瞭解，出國旅行有什麼事情是需要事先注意的！
去到英國後，發現文化、語言、生活習慣、思想差異及某些行為與禁忌上真
的有很大的不一樣，每一項都讓我覺得很新奇。在這邊真的也要很感謝我們的
tutor – Krista 與 Hilary，熱心的 houst family – Judith，我們漂亮的學伴 – Laura，
在英國認識的朋友們，謝謝給我這麼美麗的回憶。
在學校跟專業的英文老師學習英文時，讓我有件事情印象特別的深刻，在第
一天簡單參觀校園的時候，圖書館的負責人在跟我們解釋圖書館的使用方式，他
講了一個之前沒有聽過的單字，想當然華人學生共同的通病就是不太敢舉手發問
表達自己的疑惑或是自己的意見，有著豐富教學經驗的 Krista 注意到了我們臉上
的疑惑表情，特別跟我們解釋了。注意到這種小細節讓我覺得他真的很細心，並
且以這種引導方式也會讓我有勇氣發表自己的意見或是疑惑跟她及大家分享，也
讓自己在學習英文的過程中是非常享受的，不怕會犯錯，即使犯錯了也樂意去改
進讓自己變得更好。也在語言與文化課程一剛開始的時候，就積極的與我們互
動，彼此之間有著良好的關系，平時也會互相交換意見，很平易近人，在生活上
有什麼疑惑他也可以以旁觀者的角度為提供他的意見給我們。
由 Judith 擔任我的寄宿家庭，是去英國讓我覺得十分幸運的一件事，他非常
的熱情及樂於助人，讓我在剛到英國的時候，就有感受到濃濃的熱情歡迎著我的
到來，在第一天的時候就帶著我去認識環境，每天早上都會早起親自準備好吃的
早餐給我吃，跟我談論時事並且針對事情進行討論，一起看電視，介紹他的朋友
給我認識…等。他真的對我能夠這麼快速地適應英國的生活有很大的關係，由於
我是獨自一人住在寄宿家庭，所以我一定會強迫自己盡量的多說話，不會的事情
不要怕丟臉一定要問，常常做思想、文化上的交流，我覺得這些都是讓我英文進
步神速有著莫不可分的關係，謝謝她讓我在英國有家的感覺。
還有我們的學伴 – Laura，在英國第一個認識的是來在德國的他，從在車上
就跟他開心得聊天、去採草莓、幫助我們認識 Lancaster、介紹他的朋友給我們
認識、去其他縣市也是跟著他一起，到後面跟他變得很熟悉，也變成好朋友，謝
謝他帶給我得這些美好回憶。
我覺得在學習語言課程上的有一點是不容易在台灣看到的，是自己完成一個
project，主要的內容是在於鼓勵我們多去跟外國人說話，一剛開始會很恐懼，不
過試了一兩次後，就會瞭解只要勇敢地說出第一句自我介紹的話，並且說明來
意，基本上都不會被拒絕，到後來會有自信的跟外國人攀談，也不會覺得有什麼
奇怪得，我認為這是一個非常好的方式，雖然踏出第一步比較困難，但是，了解
天下之大只要厚著臉皮就不會太困難。
最後，在周末的時候，會自己安排規畫去旅行，我覺得也是個很棒得經驗，
什麼事情都是依靠自己，從不會到會慢慢的摸索，每個行程也是自己規劃，自己
決定要去哪裡，要做什麼事情，雖然旅行並不一定規畫得多麼的完美，但是能夠
自己完成一件事，自己當作自己的主人，我覺得這樣是很棒得，並且未自己的規
畫負責任。
在英國的最後一天，充滿著惆悵感，已經深深的愛上了英國這塊土地，也更
讓我自己明確我得目標 – 在英國念研究所，讓我了解我自己想要什麼，也讓我
更加得有動力。我認為我們現在這個世代的年輕人真得應該要出國見識一番，現
在是個地球村的社會，而台灣還在原地踏步，應該要多多去看看其他國家，有時
候把自己丟在一個完全陌生的環境中，才可以聽到自己內心的聲音，也有機會發
掘自己的另外一面，了解自己的韌性到底有多好，可以激發出淺力。因此很謝謝
學校贊助我遊學，讓我有機會看到不同的面相的我。

直到現在我還是不太相信我考上學海獎學金還拿到了全免！真的非
常的感謝學校讓我有機會去國外開拓視野！！！真的實現了上大學中，想
要完成的夢想！而現在已經回來一個月了，但是我的心還留在英國，不想
回來。不過這個機會可說是得來不易阿。回想那時候，為了要得到免費出
國的機會，我可是要經過重重的考驗。第一關的考試資格可說是得來不
易，雖然學校給了許多準則，讓我們可以多方參加考試，但是如果沒有事
先準備就只能請你明年再來了。到了面試那天，看到來了眾多的競爭者，
其實心裡已經開始緊張了，還好在面試的時候，鼓起了勇氣，對於評審的
問題都自信的回答。但公佈我在前五名可以得到全額補助，我真的超級興
奮的！又抽中了我最想去的英國！而我也是唯一來自馬來西亞的外籍
生，當下的興奮真的無法用言語形容。在來需要忙碌的就是行前的準備
了。學校貼心的舉辦了兩場行前說明會，讓你再踏上旅程前做好足夠的心
理準備。
我也積極的爭取了小隊長的資格，所以出發之前我已在Facebook上和
其他的小隊員們聯係，彼此先認識找室友，而且大家都來自不同的係級，
讓我很期待在英國的一個月大家能擦出什麽火花。來到了出發的這一天，
前一晚上我真的是徹夜未眠，完全興奮到極致！我們從小港出發到香港，
再搭12個小時的飛機到倫敦，一到倫敦馬上獲知我們到曼徹施特班機延後
了4個小時，大家都傻眼了！好不容易抵了曼徹施特，結果我們大家的行
李還在香港，只有一位幸運兒拿到行李。一路上大家都很累，獲知不能拿
到行李的大家無言了，而且British Airways的態度真的很差！我幫大家處
理行李行李的問題后，一出閘我們看到了學生大使Laura, 她簡單的自我介
紹和給我們一些紀念品，就坐車到學校，在去學校的路上大家都累癱了。
到了學校，負責人Mag，我們的英文老師Krista和大家的host family
已經在等待我們的到來，因爲我的host mom有事無法前來，所以由負責人
Mag載我和另外一位同學到host mom家。我的Host mom是一位快60歲的
Brenda，她非常的健壯，人也非常的友善。因為另外一位一起住的同學不
喜歡吃西式料理，所以host mom為了遷就她，大部分的時間都在煮中式料
理，有炒飯，咖哩，雞肉等等。每天早餐我們都是燕麥配牛奶，午餐就是
在學校的餐廳，而晚餐就是回到host mom家吃晚餐，我就喜歡的是晚餐後
的飯後甜點，有水果搭配yogurt或是每天host mom都會問到要咖啡或英式
奶茶。我也在其中一天到市集買了材料，回家煮了一頓我的拿手好菜給我
host mom和另外一位同學。也因為非常喜歡西式料理，所以一有機會到外
頭用膳，我就會嘗試英國出名的fish & chips 或是一些spaghetti。而我也
去過其他一起遊學的同學家嘗試他們host mom的手藝，都是道地的英式料
理，回味無窮。
在這一個月中，我們也常常被老師和host mom說，不希望我們回國，
因為我們的到來，也帶給了英國好天氣。英國在近幾年的夏天已經很久沒
有陽光了，因為都是下雨天，有也只是短暫的。但是我們在這裡的一個月，
只碰上了幾天的下雨天，其他時候是陽光和舒服的天氣。我也非常享受英
國的陽光和溫暖的天氣。在這也建議大家帶些夏天的衣物，好穿的運動鞋
（時常走在石磚上）和一件厚外套就可以了。
住在這裡的一個月，也發現了許多文化的差異性。例如：家裡，巴士
上都沒有風扇和冷氣，因為他們的夏天，天氣也非常舒服。飲用水都是直
接從水龍頭直接飲用，不需要過濾。午餐通常是吃三明治，host mom說因
為吃太飽會想睡覺。晚餐後一定會吃甜點（yogurt或是ice-cream），和喝
咖啡或奶茶。國民甜點是Scone，上面會塗奶油或放水果搭配。交通費非
常昂貴，尤其是火車，有時候還比飛機票貴。商店都在5：30打烊，不像
台灣的晚上想買什麼，都買得到。
我們一個禮拜上4天的英文課程，一天是學校帶我們出去，而六日就
是我們的自由時間。在課堂上我們一個班一起上課，所以大家時常會一起
合作報告和作業。遇上不會的問題大家會舉手發問和互相討論，老師也會
很熱心的回答我們。這一有機會就到處逛，去了好多景點，有Lancaster
(Lancaster Castle, Strawberry Picking,Willianson’s Park,Maritime
Museum,Duke Theatre)，Lake District（Beatrix Potter,Ambleside，
Rheged） ,Manchester(Old Trafford,City Centre)， Morecambe,
Liverpool(Beatles Museum,City Centre)，Kendel，Blackpool， London
（London Eye,London Bridge,大英博物館,大笨鐘 ,Tower Bridge,白金漢
宮,聖保羅天主教堂,西敏寺,The Tower Of London）。
印象最深刻的是我一個人的旅行，我自己搭巴士去了Blackpool一日
遊，它有小LA之稱，因為靠海然後有許多遊樂設施，賭場和許多觀光景點。
一個人走了一天，在路上也不斷的問陌生人要怎麼走，買了一些紀念品和
明信片。走累了就在大草皮上躺著休息，搭配涼爽的天氣，真的非常舒服
放鬆。非常靠近Lancaster，所以還蠻推薦之後也來遊學的學弟妹，可以走
走逛逛。
還有非常難忘的倫敦行，原本計劃一個人去，之後Sherry說要結伴去，
所以我負責事先的規劃和預訂酒店和交通，如果大家想要去倫敦的話，要
很早在網路上訂購車票和住宿，因為越晚定會越貴。這兩天一夜，我們住
在背包客棧。非常便宜，但是有一定的危險性，因為不確定會和怎樣的人
住在一起。但是可以在挑選的時候，注意評價會比較安全。在倫敦的交通，
我都是搭underground，就是所謂的捷運。我建議大家買1 day off perk，
一天無數次搭，只要英鎊7.30。非常便宜，要不一趟就要英鎊7塊。在大
本鐘附近，要非常小心有奇怪打扮的人，他們會上前和你合照，但是拍完
後會伸手和你們要拍照的費用，不讓你們走。因為我有遇到，要被要錢的
當兒，我馬上抓著Sherry就跑，這個要非常的小心！在倫敦，我也走過了
好多地方，有London Eye,London Bridge,大英博物館,大笨鐘 ,Tower
Bridge,白金漢宮,聖保羅天主教堂,西敏寺,The Tower Of London。看到了
不一樣的倫敦。
我也在英國度過了我20歲的生日，在這一天我和幾位同學一起到一位
英國人的家做客，她是Jessica，一位可愛的英國朋友。我們一起烤肉，製
作晚餐，體驗cup cake，還有一起聊天，玩遊戲。在這一天，是一個簡單
不過的日子，但是卻讓我畢生難忘。
建議要出發之前，不需要帶太多的衣物或是不需要的東西，因為行李
的公斤限制是20KG，所以要小心超重的問題。最後回國的時候，把退稅
的物品都拿在隨行包包裡面，不要check-in，因為退稅需要物品證明，沒
有物品證明就不能退稅。在買東西的時候也不要什麼都換算成台幣後再考
慮要不要買，因為會買不下手，絕對不要因為這樣回國了再後悔。我在這
旅途也有一句名言，“看到喜歡的東西，如果在能力範圍下就買，因為回去
後錢賺的回來，但是再到英國的機會很難賺的回來。”
如果還有機會，我希望能夠有更多的時間待在英國，有機會再到不同
的地方體驗道地的英國文化。英國，我還會再回來探究你的美！

Even now I still can’t believe I was admitted scholarship and I got it
free ! Really grateful to the school for giving me the opportunity to go
abroad ! ! ! Really achieve I-shou University , I have complete the
dream ! And now over a month, my heart still remain in the UK , do not
want to come back. But this opportunity is not easy to done it . Recall
that time , in order to get a free opportunity to go abroad , but I have to
go through many trials . First off qualification exam is not easy to say that
although the school has given many criteria , so that we can participate
in multi- exam , but if not prepared in advance can only ask you to come
again next year . To the interview that day, came to see many
competitors , in fact, I was nervous, but fortunately, in the interview,
took courage , self-confidence for the assessment questions answered .
But publish my full subsidy can be in the top five , I'm really super
excited ! Has drawn the top of my English ! And I am also the only foreign
students from Malaysia , the excitement of the moment really can’t
describe in words . After all is the time to prepare it. School held two
intimate briefings before , so before you go on a journey you will have
enough knowledge to prepared .
I’m also actively seek qualified leader , so before departure I contact
other student from Facebook, first get to know each other, looking for
roommates, and we are from different department , so I'm looking
forward to the one in the UK May we be able to spark off. Came the day
of departure, the night before I was really awake all night, completely
excited to the extreme! We were brought to Hong Kong port of
departure, then take 12 hours flight to London. London to Manchester
immediately informed of our flight was delayed for four hours, we are
dumbfounded! Finally arrived in the Manchester, but our luggage still in
the Hong Kong, only a lucky get the luggage. Along the way, we are tired,
we learned not to get the luggage speechless, and British Airways
attitude is really bad! I help other deal with luggage baggage problems,
when we off to the gate we saw the Student Ambassador Laura, her
simple self-introduction and give us some souvenirs on the car to the
school, on the way to school we all pretty tired.
When we arrived the school , the responsible person Mag, our
English teacher Krista and everyone's host family has been waiting for
our arrival , my host mom is busy, so I set out by the responsible person
and my roommate to host mom home . My Host mom is a fast 60
-year-old Brenda, she is very robust , and very friendly . Because my
roommate don’t like to eat Western food , so in order to accommodate
my host mom , most of the time to cook Chinese cuisine , some fried
rice , curry , chicken and so on. We are daily breakfast oatmeal with milk ,
lunch is in the school's restaurant , while dinner is to return to host mom
's house to eat dinner , I like the dessert after dinner , with fruit mix
yogurt or host mom would ask every day to have coffee or English tea.
One day ,i went to the market to buy materials, home cooked meal of my
favorite dishes to my host mom and roommate . Because I very fond of
Western food , so there is an opportunity to dine outside , I'll try to
Britain famous fish & chips or some spaghetti. And I've been to other
friend house to try their host mom craft, are authentic British cuisine ,
memorable.
In this month , we also often teachers and host mom said, do not
want us to return home , because our arrival , but also bring the good
weather. Britain in recent years has been a long summer without
sunshine , because all rainy day, there is only short-lived. But here we are
a month , only a few days of rain hit , other times it is sunny and
comfortable weather. I’m also enjoy the British sunshine and warm
weather . In this also suggest that you bring some summer clothes, wear
sneakers ( often walking on the brick ) and a thick coat on it.
Lived here a month , also found many cultural differences. For
example: at home , on the bus do not have fans and air conditioning,
because of their summer , the weather is also very comfortable. Drinking
water is safe to drink straight from the tap , without filtering. Lunch is
usually a sandwich , host mom said it was because too full to eat will
want to sleep. Will eat dessert after dinner (yogurt or ice-cream), and
coffee or tea. National desserts are Scone, the above will be buttered or
put fruit mix . Transport costs are very expensive, especially trains,
sometimes expensive than the tickets . Shops are closing at 5:30 .
Four days a week on our English courses , one day took us out of
school , while weekend is our free time. We having the class in the
classes , so we often work together reports and assignments. The
problem you will encounter will not raise questions and discuss with
each other , the teacher will be very eager to answer us. If I have the
opportunity,I go a lot places, there are Lancaster (Lancaster Castle,
Strawberry Picking, Willianson's Park, Maritime Museum, Duke Theatre),
Lake District (Beatrix Potter, Ambleside, Rheged), Manchester (Old
Trafford, City Centre ), Morecambe, Liverpool (Beatles Museum, City
Centre), Kendel, Blackpool, London (London Eye, London Bridge, the
British Museum, big Ben , Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's
Cathedral , Westminster Abbey , The Tower Of London) .
I was most impressed by a person's travel , I went to Blackpool ride
the bus tour, it has a small LA known as the sea and there are many rides,
casinos and many tourist attractions. I walking a day on the road
constantly ask strangers to how to go and buy some souvenirs and
postcards. Tired lying on the grass in the large lounge , with cool
weather , really comfortable to relax . And it close to Lancaster, so quite
recommend our school juniors , you can walk around town .
London, there is a memorable trip , originally planned to go alone ,
after Sherry said to go hand in hand , so I am responsible for the
planning and advance booking hotels and transportation , if you want to
go to London ,you have to order tickets on the Internet early and
accommodations because the later will more expensive . This two-day
night, we stayed in backpackers . Very cheap, but there is a certain
degree of risk, because the uncertainty will be and what kind of people
live together. But you can pick the time, pay attention to evaluation
would be more secure. Transport in London , I always take the
underground, is called the MRT . I suggest that you buy a 1 day off perk,
one day ride countless times , as long as sterling 7.30 . Very cheap , or a
trip would pound 7 . In the vicinity of Big Ben , to be very careful with
strange people dressed , there want to take photo with you, but after
finishing will reach out and take pictures of your expenses , and do not
let you go . Because I have encountered , to be money in the moment , I

I have gone through a lot of places , there are London Eye, London Bridge,
the British Museum, Big Ben , Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, St.
Paul's Cathedral , Westminster Abbey , The Tower Of London. Not the
same as seen in London .
I also spent my 20th birthday with my classmates to an Englishman 's
house guest , she was Jessica, a lovely British friends . We have a
barbecue , making dinner and experience the cup cake, there chatting ,
playing games . On this day, the day is a simple enough , but it made me
never forget.
Recommended prior to departure , not take too many clothes or
unwanted things, because kg baggage limit is 20KG, so be careful
overweight problem . Finally returning to the time that the rebate items
are hold in the accompanying bag inside , do not check-in, because the
rebate items need proof , no evidence can’t refund items . when you
buying anything ,do not translated into NT dollars before considering
whether to buy , because it will not start to buy , never to return again
because of this regret . I have a saying in the journey , " see something
you like , if capacity range to buy, go back and make a profit because the
back, but then the UK is difficult to earn the opportunity to come back ."
If I have a chance, I hope to have more time to stay in the UK, and
then to have the opportunity to experience different places authentic

感謝學校提供遊學的機會，讓我能出國增廣見聞，充實自己，也能體驗不同
的文化與民情，而且時間還是長達一個月，也是我第一次出國，因此格外興奮。
出發的當天剛好是颱風登陸，幸好航班沒有取消，因此一早就由媽媽與舅舅
帶我到小港機場準備搭機，旅行社的人早就在現場等候，發護照與登機證給我
們，並跟所有團員宣布一些注意事項，我們就由小隊長的帶領下前往英國，但這
一趟旅途相當辛苦，要先到香港轉機，飛十幾個小時後終於到倫敦了，原本以為
可以很順利轉機到曼徹斯特，沒想到班機突然被取消，我們又連絡不到學校的
人，只好跟地勤人員詢問，他把我們安排在下一趟班機，於是我們要等兩個小時
後才能轉機，但是到曼徹斯特後，又搞了大烏龍，我們大家的行李都不見了，航
空公司的人只承諾會盡快找出來，於是我們只能拖著疲憊的身軀由坎布里亞大學
的學生大使 Laura 接我們到蘭卡斯特，抵達學校時，幾乎 home 爸媽都在那裡等
我們了，大家各自被自己的寄宿家庭接回家。
隔天 home 媽就帶我到城鎮逛逛，她為了讓我認識路，因此我們是走路去，
沿途她邊跟我介紹附近有什麼商店，邊跟我聊天讓我好認路，走了大概 40 分鐘
後終於到城鎮了，那天天氣很好，出了大太陽可以看到許多人都躺在草皮上曬太
陽、做日光浴，home 媽就說其實平常都是陰天所以大家才那麼珍惜陽光，她帶
我在城鎮逛了一圈，介紹一些大家平常買的商店等，後來帶我到一個城堡，跟我
說以前當監獄使用，近幾年才開放，還請我喝了下午茶。之後的平日都要到學校
上課，我們的老師 Krista 每天都會安排不同的課程與活動，上她的課相當有趣，
可以學到很多英式習俗等。這個禮拜學校帶我們去參觀彼得兔的博物館與湖區，
湖區真得很美，風景如詩如畫，湖的旁邊有山坡跟房子，彷彿在童話故事裡才會
出現，但它真的活生生出現在自己面前，讓我們大家擁有一個很美好的一天，而
周六由 home 家舉辦活動，邀請團員與各地的留學生一起到農莊採草莓，並享用
點心等，大家都過了一個悠閒的下午。
第二個禮拜除了上課外，學校安排我們到曼徹斯特，我們先去參觀曼聯足球
場，真得很壯觀，球場超級大，歷史悠久，孕育出許多知名且優秀的球員，而我
跟同學到處找尋貝克漢的足跡，拿起相機就猛拍照，導覽員則是很認真的跟我們
介紹球場的歷史與文化，還讓我們坐了一季要 800 英鎊的座位，帶我們進球員更
衣室、VIP 室等。下午則安排我們自由活動，我跟同學就到購物中心買東西，像
知名的英式紅茶與自己喜歡的衣服等。周末我們又自己搭火車到曼徹斯特，事先
我們有做筆記，先到藝術畫廊參觀畫作，裡面很有趣也可以自己動手作畫，後來
去一個歷史悠久的圖書館，古色古香，有點像哈利波特裡面有長桌子的大餐廳，
現場還可以體會印刷術，下午我們就到街頭逛逛，還遇到許多有趣的外國人，最
後匆忙地趕巴士回蘭卡斯特。
第三個禮拜學校安排我們到 Morecambe 的一個音樂工作室，體驗傳統的樂曲
與舞蹈，大家又唱又跳的十分勞累，期間他們還帶我們玩遊戲，準備點心給我們，
一個很有趣的一天。周末我跟同學搭火車去倫敦，一開始我們先去參觀大英博物
館，裡面真得很大，各個地方的各種物品都有展示，可以在那裡待很久，晚上我
們就去許多著名的地標，像倫敦眼，大笨鐘，倫敦橋等，最後搭地鐵回青年旅館
休息，是一個很特別的經驗，許多不認識的人睡一間，大家分享著旅途的趣事，
隔天我們去白金漢宮，那裡聚集了世界各地的人圍觀，可惜沒有遇到士兵交接的
遊行活動，我們則把握剩下的時間去著名的西敏寺與聖保羅大教堂，中途又經過
了昨天的倫敦眼與大笨鐘等，白天跟晚上的景緻真是截然不同，這短短兩天的倫
敦行一點也不虛此行，相當充實。
最後一個禮拜我們則到利物浦參觀披頭四博物館，裡面詳細介紹他們的成名
過程，還有許多他們的樂器與人型雕像，相當有趣跟豐富，下午讓我們自由活動，
我們則跟學生大使 Laura 到名廚 Jamie Oliver 的餐廳享用點心，雖然有點小貴，
但十分美味，冰淇淋很濃郁。隔天我們到公園看羅賓漢的戲劇，很特別的經驗，
因為舞台劇是在戶外演出，而且有六個場景，每場大概演 10 分鐘就會要你到下
一個場地了。最後一個晚上我們所有團員跟 home 家一起到餐廳吃晚餐，大家互
相交流、聊天，討論我們這一個月來都做了什麼，留下一個美好的夜晚，隔天大
家互相道別，依依不捨的離開，回台灣。
這一個月以來我真的學到很多，英文也進步許多，認識很多來自不同國家的
人，尤其是 home 爸媽都很熱情，每天都會撥空跟我聊天，做好吃的晚餐給我吃，
希望未來有機會能換我在台灣接待他們，總之這是我永生難以忘懷，最充實、最
豐富的一個月了。

I was thank for that school gave me the chance to study abroad. Not only I
could broaden the horizon, but also could experience the different cultures. It was
my first time to go abroad for one month, so I was very excited.
The typhoon came when I was ready to leave for the airport. Fortunately, the
flight did not be canceled. Thus, my mom and uncle took me to the Kaohsiung
International Airport in early morning. Travel agents gave us passport and boarding
pass and announced something important. Then, all of us were lead by the team
leader headed for England. This journey was very hard. We changed the flight from
Hong Kong to England and then to Manchester. We spent more than 12 hours from
Taiwan to England. Since, this was my first time taking a plane, I felt quite excited and
nervous. I sat by the window, so I could see the blue ocean down below. The view
was beautiful, and I was lost in it. All of a sudden, the plane started to bump up and
down as if it was about to crush. Luckily, this did not last long, but I was already
scared to death. Unfortunately, when we arrived in Manchester, our luggages were
missing. Finally, we could only drag our exhausted body and let the student
ambassador of the University of Cumbria,Laura, took us to Lancaster by school bus.
When we arrived to the school, almost host family had waited for us there, later on
all of us were picked up by our own host family.
The next day, my host mother took me to walk around the town. In order to
let me get familiar with the road, we walked to the town. Along the road, she was
introducing to me what stores nearby to me, and chatting to me. Finally, it took us 40
minutes to get to the town. The weather was great and very sunny on the day, we
could see a lot of people lying on the grass and doing sunbathing. And then, my host
mother said that actually cloudy every day , so that' s the reason why people here
would cherish the sun especially. She took me to walk around the town and
introduced me for some stores what people usually bought there. Later, she took me
to a castle, and told me that it was a prison before and opened in recent years. She
invited me to drink afternoon tea there. We should go to school on weekdays. I used
to walk to school. It was about half an hour’s walk from my house. To get to school, I
had to pass through a large park, but that was the best part about it. Once, enter the
park, I would find a quiet place to sit for ten minutes. Occasionally, I would look up at
the birds in the trees and listen to their chirping. Such a sight helped me stay in a
good mood all day long. That’s why I never got tired of walking to school every day.
Our teacher, Krista, arranged different kinds of courses and activities. Her class was
very interesting, and we could learn a lot of British customs. Sometimes, my friends
and I would go to the coffee shop after school. Many coffee shops offered a wide
variety of desserts and light meals as well. They also provided customers with a
relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. In my view, a coffee shop was the best place to
kill time. School took us to visit the museum with Peter Rabbit and Lake District on
the weekend. The lake was very beautiful, so we had a wonderful day. My host family
invited all the students to pick strawberries at the farm. Thus, we also had some
delicious desserts. We all had a relaxing afternoon.
The second week, school arranged us to Manchester. First, we went to visit the
Manchester United football stadium and it was spectacular. The stadium had a long
history, especially there were a lot of well-known and good football players. My
classmates and I found Beckham' s footsteps anywhere. We took lots of pictures at
the stadium. On the other hand, the staff was very serious to tell us the history and
the culture of the stadium, and let us sit the seat for 800 pounds one season. Besides,
he showed us the locker room and the VIP room. We had free activities in the
afternoon. My classmates and I went to shopping mall to buy something famous like
British tea and the clothes we like. In addition, we took train to Manchester again on
the weekend for our project. We took notes in advance. First, we visited Art Gallery,
and doing something interesting there. Then, we went to a historic library. The scene
there was a bit like Harry Potter. We could also experience printing there. In the
afternoon, we walked around outside and met many interesting foreigners. Finally,
we catch the bus to Lancaster in a hurry. Besides, we held a special birthday party for
our friend, Kelly in this week. We pretended that we did not remember her birthday.
As she came to school and pushed the door open, we all standing in front of a big
birthday cake and singing ‘’ Happy Birthday ‘’ to her. I thought that it was the most
special birthday party that she had ever met.
The third week, school arranged us to a music studio in Morecambe. We
experienced the traditional music and dance there. Everyone was very tired because
we sang and danced a lot. We also play a lot of games there and ate delicious
desserts. I thought it was a very interesting day. My friend, Kelly, and I took train to
London on the weekend. At first, we went to visit the British Museum, and it was
very large. There were many different things from all the worlds. In order to
appreciate all kinds of the things , so we spent for a long time there. In the evening,
we went to many famous landmarks, like London Eye, Big Ben, London Bridge. At last,
we went back to hostel to rest by subway. It was a very special experience because
people from different countries would share a room with you. The most interesting
was that we would told our travel experiences to each other. The next day, we went
to Buckingham Palace. People around the world gathered there in order to see the
parade, but unfortunately it did not show that day. Thus, we cherished our rest of
time to visit Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral. We went across the Big Ben
and London Eye again. I thought that the scenery during the day and at night was
really different. This short two-day trip in London was worthwhile, so I had a good
memory.
Last week, we visited Beatles museum in Liverpool. We could know their
famous songs. There were not only instruments but also their statues which could let
people take pictures with. It was quite interesting there. We had free activities in the
afternoon. Student ambassador, Laura, and I went to a famous restaurant, Jamie
Oliver’s, and had delicious dessert. It was a little expensive but it tasted very yummy.
The next day, school arranged us to see the Robin Hood plays in the Willison’s park. It
was a very special experience because they played in out door. Besides, there were
six scenes, which play about 10 minutes, then, you had to go to the next scene. The
last night, all members and their host family got together and went to a restaurant
for dinner. We not only chatted but also discussed what we did in this short month.
Thus, we all had a wonderful night. The next day, we said goodbye to each other,
then, went back to Taiwan.
I learned a lot from this month. I not only improved my English, but also met a
lot of people from different countries. Especially, my host family were very nice and
kind. They usually chatted with me when they had free time. Besides, my host
mother almost made different kinds of dinner for me. I hoped that I would have
chance to show them around Taiwan, and told them what is famous in Taiwan,
especially the night markets. Sometimes, I would get lost in Lancasrter or I did not
know how to express what I wanted to say. However, life’s journey is never smooth,
and we are bound to run into setbacks every now and then. If we have no courage,
we will withdraw and feel sad. We will by no means achieve anything great. Great
people are those who are brave enough to meet any challenges. As they say, ‘’ Failure
is the mother of success.’’ The more difficulties we have, the more courageous we
should be. As long as we have faith in ourselves, nothing can keep us from moving
ahead. In short words, it was the most special memory in my life.

比起往年，這次的學海獎學金只有三個團可以讓我們學生選擇。英國、美國、
澳洲各一團。三個國家中我最喜歡英國。英國是一個歷史悠久的國家，而且英國
人的英語有著特別的口音。因此，我選擇英國，決定到坎布里亞大學(University
of Cumbria)為期一個月的學習生活。
在遊學的過程中，我們被安排到當地的寄宿家庭生活一個月。和寄宿家庭一
起生活是認識不同文化和增進英語最快的方法，直接和英國人談話和生活是一個
極為寶貴的經驗。
7/13 一早的飛機飛到香港，上了飛機，帶著緊張又興奮的心情看著自己熟悉
的場景慢慢的離自己遠去，有著好像自己長大的感覺。到了香港再飛到倫敦，原
本以為可以順利的接著轉機到曼徹斯特，卻因為幾天前曼徹斯特機場發生了火災
導致我們的班機取消，下一班卻又延遲誤點，學校聯絡人都聯絡不上，坐了 10
幾個小時飛機的我們當下只覺得全身疲累。晚上 11 點下了飛機，機場人員說我
的行李還留在香港，同行的同學也只有一位有拿到行李，因此我們只能兩手空空
的跟著前來接機的學生大使 Laura 搭巴士回學校。一路上 Laura 介紹著英國文化
和未來一個月我們將學習的地方，而我卻漸漸的擋不住睡意。
Laura 帶我們到坎布里亞大學和每個人的寄宿家庭見面，我和另外一位同學
被分到同一個家庭，看著其他同學被他們的爸爸媽媽陸續接走後，學校的老師才
和我們說我們的 home 媽不方便來載我們，因此只能等同學都被接回去後再麻煩
老師了。
平常日早上九點半到下午四點是我們的上課時間，短短的一個月裡相信大家
都學到很多東西，在台灣我們學的是美式英語，因此在接觸英式英語時，奇特外
也覺得很有趣。一個月裡上了很多單字與文化，除了單方面的授課，每個禮拜老
師也會要求我們觀察英國和台灣不同地方的文化以及不同的用語，並在回校後報
告討論。除了在教室裡聽老師講課，每個禮拜還會有戶外教學或活動，老師會介
紹有名的景點，隔天則回校分享心得。
第一週我們參觀了蘭卡斯特城堡(Lancaster Castle)，當地最著名的歷史城
堡，也是當地人極推薦的景點，只可惜進去參觀時不可以拍照，而且也只能參觀
城堡裡的一小部分。法庭、刑具、會議室、牢房…等，裡面每件事物都超過好幾
百年。讓我印象最深刻的，是參觀到牢房時解說員說可以體會被關在又黑又小又
暗又密不通風的牢房裡，也說沒有一個男人可以被關兩天以上的，這難得的體驗
我當然沒有錯過，而且還看到了門上有好多抓痕。
第二週我們到了曼徹斯特(Manchester)，曼徹斯特是一個古代與現代結合的
地方。在古老的建築物中，夾雜一些現代的大樓和百貨公司，這裡很熱鬧，是個
購物的地方。除了逛街我們還去參觀曼聯球場，第一次進去球員們的休息室及更
衣室參觀，讓我這個不是球迷的也好興奮！之後還去曼聯球場的博物館，滿滿的
都是獎杯、球衣、足球及他們的簽名，真的很開心可以來到這裡。
第三週去了摩肯(Morecambe)，在蘭卡斯特的旁邊而已，早上大家一起搭公
車到學校安排好的地方欣賞英國的傳統音樂，老師彈奏了許多種傳統樂器，教我
們唱民俗歌謠，也讓我們跳英國傳統的舞蹈，讓本身就對音樂有興趣的我大開眼
界！
第四週我們去了利物浦(Liverpool)，the Beatles 的故鄉！是搖滾客朝聖的地
方，來這裡可以看到一堆喜愛搖滾樂的人，不分男女老少，每個人都細細品嚐披
頭四博物館裡的展示品。無須跟著導覽員，每個人都有個耳機，隨著自己的步調
慢慢的去觀看每一個展覽櫃。如果你是他們的粉絲，就一定要來，如果不是，參
觀完後對他們的了解也會加深不少。利物浦是一個令人難以忘懷的好地方。
在英國的很多事情都好特別，搭公車非得跑上第二層，走每天走過的路也都
忍不住的東張西望。吃不習慣的傳統點心逐漸上了癮，也已經漸漸地習慣了交通
號誌以及左右方向，漸漸地開口講英文有了自信，漸漸地都快忘了四個禮拜過的
特別的快。

Compared with previous years, for this scholarship, there were three
programmes for us to choose. There were in three location , United Kingdom, United
States and Australia. Among these three places, I liked the UK most. It was because
the UK was a very old and historical country. Moreover, I loved the accent of British
people in speaking English. Therefore, I would like to learn their accent so I chose to
study in the University of Cumbria for one month.
When we studied abroad, students were arranged to stay in the host family
lasting for one mouth, which was a local British family. I thought that living with the
home stay was the best and fastest way to be familiar with any different kinds of
cultures and enhanced English technique. Therefore, living with the British people
and talking to them was really a precious experience.
We took the plane to Hong Kong in the morning in 7/13. It made me feel not
only nervous but also excited when I got on the plane. Looking the familiar sight
away from me let me feel that I am grown up. We changed the flight from Hong Kong
to London and then to Manchester. I believed that we could then turn to Manchester
smoothly originally. Unexpectedly, there was something accidents happened in the
airport in Manchester so we only could take the next flight.
Unfortunately, next flight delayed again, we couldn’t contract with teachers
both in Taiwan and in University of Cumbria as well .Feeling tired whole body after
we took an airplane more than ten hours. Finally we got off the plane at 11 p.m., but
the airport staff said that my laggages still stayed in Hong Kong, only one of our
people got her laggages . Therefore, we just could take the school coach with Laura,
student ambassador who took us to the University of Cumbria when we arrived at
Manchester airport, with both of our hands emptied .On the way to school, Laura
introduced lots of British cultures and the school we will study for one month, but
some of us, including me, were so tired that we felt asleep on the coach right away.
After we just arrived at the campus, we met the host family and the students
were taken home by their own host families. I was assigned the same host family
with another people. Looking students left by degrees, teacher told us that our home
mother can’t come to take us back so we only said sorry to teacher to take us to our
host family.
We had to go to have class at 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on Monday to Friday during
this month. I believed that everyone had learned many things when one week
arrived. Especially, in Taiwan, we learnt English in an American style so contacting in
an British style we felt in curiosity. We were taught lots of vocabularies and various
kinds of cultures. In addition to the unilateral lectures, we also needed to observe
what different between Taiwan and the UK, different terms as well, and back to the
class the day after day to discuss and report to teacher and students in class. Apart
from listening to the teacher in the classroom, there had one to two outdoor
activities every week, teachers will introduce the famous attractions in advance, then
we needed to return to school the next day to share the experiences.
First week, we visited the Lancaster Castle which had hundreds years history
was the most famous historical castle in local. Teachers and people there also said
that we could not miss this place if we were in Lancaster. Unfortunately, we were not
allowed to use camera inside. However, we only can look around a little part of the
castle. We saw the court, the instrument of torture, dungeon and drawing room so
on. It was a special experience for me because we had been locked in the dungeon.
The dungeon is dark, small and simple, there is only a bed in it. Besides, the door is
very heavy, there are many scratches on it. We were so happy that we could visit
Lancaster Castle even locked in the dungeon.
Second week, we came to Manchester, which was a combination of historic and
modern. There were both many historical places and modern shopping malls. It was
lively and was a good place for shopping. Lots of department store located in there.
Later, we had gone to the Manchester United Stadium, after going to the stadium, I
am now understand why people so fascinated in foot ball. The momentum of the
stadium is amazing, and they take very good care of the stadium, there is clear and
tidy. I love Manchester very much.
On the weekend of the second week, I went to Edinburgh with other six people.
It is a charming city. We took about two hours to get there by train. This city is quite
different from Lancaster. The buildings are taller here and there are old town and
new town. Many men wear Scottish kilts. In old town, there is an amazing castle. The
ticket is cheap but it’s too big for us to visit the whole castle. The performance of
street performer really amazed me. The staggering churches and castles were just a
part of the city.
Last week, our tutor brought us to go to Liverpool. I found that the buildings
were different from the buildings in Lancaster. The buildings in Liverpool were
constructed by brick and in Lancaster were by stones. However, we went to the
Beatles Museum. Although I knew this band and listening to some of their songs, I
still did not know them very well. In the museum, we did not follow guides, everyone
had a headset. Most importantly, we could take lots of picture there! Although I was
not a fan of them, after visiting this museum, I had known more things about them.
The Beatles museum not just a museum, it including music, arts, technology and lots
of funny stuffs. After visiting the Beatles Museum, I start to fall in love with the
Beatles, I understand why the band can be popular for such a long time now. This is
the most attractions thing. Liverpool was a very nice place for travelling.
Lots of things in the UK are in particular, taking the bus also ran to the second
layer, taking the road travelled daily also could not help looking around. I'm not used
to eating gradually on a traditional dim sum addiction. Having also been gradually
getting used to the traffic signal and left and right, gradually began to speak English
having confidence, gradually over four weeks almost forgot a special fast.

2013/7/13 星期六，清晨兩點爸爸從台中開車載我到小港機場，媽媽跟妹妹也陪我
ㄧ起下高雄。因為是颱風天我很怕飛香港的班機延遲起飛或停飛，好險高雄天氣
沒有很糟班機也正常飛行！第一次坐飛機覺得很緊張也很興奮。媽媽很不放心的
一直叮嚀我要注意些什麼。到香港的時候因為轉機時間不到一個小時，大家沒辦
法好好的看香港機場的樣子。終於到了漫長的飛行時間，12 個小時裡，看了很
多部電影也睡了好久。看到螢幕上的地圖顯示離倫敦越來越近了，我的心撲通撲
通的跳著，帶著雀躍的心情走進倫敦機場。我們在看飛往曼徹斯特的班機時，發
現我們要坐的那班被取消，大家都很緊張，小隊長也很快的找到服務人員幫我們
解決問題。最後我們搭 20:25 的飛機.殊不知這班飛機竟然延遲了不只 30 分鐘，
到飛機上又等了好久，大概 21:30 才起飛。到達曼徹斯特已經都快十點半了，離
當初預計的時間晚了兩個多小時呢！當我們要拿行李的時候發現大家的行李都
沒送到，只有我幸運的拿到行李，其他同學都要等到隔天才能拿到。終於看到接
機人員 Laura。雖然很累但是也很開心！在車上 Laura 很熱情的跟我們聊天，介
紹一些我們之後會去的地方，也說了美式英文跟英式英文的一些不同的地方。12
點多終於到了坎布里亞大學，帶著緊張的心情聽到了轟媽 Mavis 叫我的聲音。他
過來跟我擁抱說很高興看到我了這一路上辛苦了，也跟轟爸 Sam 打了招呼。看
到他們我的心頓時安心了很多！在車上我們小聊了一下,Mavis 說我可以叫她
Mave 就好。家裡還有住了一個叫 Adi 的巴基斯坦人,他是阿富汗出生的之後搬到
巴基斯坦。接待我的家庭真的很溫暖，唯一一點我還是很害怕，就是英國腔真的
聽不太懂。所以 Mave 跟 Sam 在講話的時候我必須集中精神去聽他們說，他們跟
我說話也會放慢速度。到了家裡 Mave 帶我去看我的房間，一看到房間，我很喜
歡，心大叫＂這就是我想要的房間阿！＂”溫馨又簡單的擺設讓我好愛好愛。
Mave 知道我沒有吃晚餐，烤了吐司給我吃也泡了 British tea。邊吃吐司的同時，
Mave 跟 Sam 拿著 ipad 跟我介紹他們的家人，因為 Sam 跟 Mave 年紀都比較大，
在用 ipad 的時候都好可愛，他們都會為了要怎麼用而鬥嘴！吃完東西後去洗了
澡，把一身的疲憊都沖掉。Sam 跟 Mave 為了我到了兩點多才睡覺，真的很謝謝
他們，雖然才相處不到 2 個小時我就已經好愛他們了！洗完澡後跟 Mave 擁抱說
晚安，祝有個好夢！勞累的一天在最後畫下幸福的句點！
隔天十一點多才起床！因為坐太久的飛機，身體很累。午餐 Mave 弄了個簡單的
火腿起司三明治還有英國茶給我當午餐。吃完午餐，Sam 跟 Mave 帶我去拜訪
Mave 的妹妹 Carole。下午 Mave 帶我練習坐公車，順便去 town 辦手機門號還有
逛逛店面。回來後因為時差的關係覺得很累，但是為了要調整時差必須撐住。六
點左右 Mave 跟 Sam 準備好了晚餐。這是我的第一頓英式晚餐！吃完晚餐我們一
起看了類似百萬小學堂的節目還有 Mr. and Mrs.這些節目來賓所得到的獎金都是
拿去做慈善的，我覺得這樣很不錯！跟台灣的節目真的差很多。第一天到學校看
到我們的老師 Krista。他長的很漂亮也很友善，他總是帶著笑容面對我們。他先
帶我們到圖書館辦學生證，我們竟然要當場拍照把照片放在學生證上，大家都有
點小驚訝，因為沒有事前通知我們，所以大家都沒有打扮。辦完學生証後，圖書
館的老師 Kim 為我們介紹圖書館也交我們怎麼借書還書。之後我們就到電腦教室
登錄一些東西。過沒多久大家的行李終於到學校了！老師帶我們去國際辦公室認
領行李然後打電話叫寄宿家庭的家人來把行李載回去。下午的時候我們跟著
Laura 一起去 town 逛，上課時老師有給一些問題需要從 town 的商店找答案，Laura
幫我們介紹了店家也協助我們找答案。因為很多商店 5 點半就關門了，我們早早
就回去囉！
在學校學了很多英文，真的很神奇！像常講的 movie 英式英文是 film。也教了一
些如何跟寄宿家庭對話。老師的上課都會發講義給我們，先讓我們憑自己的知識
去寫答案之後再分小組討論最後再跟我們說正確答案。這樣子的上課方式我很喜
歡，可以讓學到的東西比較有印象。每個禮拜學校也有安排校外教學，The Lake
District， Beatrix Potter Attraction,，Manchester， Liverpool。令我印象最深刻的
是湖區。湖區的景色的真讓我嘆為觀止！湖水很清澈，坐在船上可以很放鬆的去
享受風景。彼得兔在英國是一個非常有名的卡通人物，在紀念品區買了很多張明
信片寄給親朋好友還有一隻彼得兔回家做紀念。在曼徹斯特我們去了曼聯，雖然
對足球一點都不了解，但我還是覺得曼聯真的是一個很酷的地方。在利物浦我們
去了披頭四博物館，我不是一個披頭四迷，但我知道他們很多歌，在博物館哩，
我沉浸在他們的音樂中，也對他們更了解了！
我的寄宿家庭真的很好，每天晚餐 Mave 都會準備很豐盛。吃派，披薩，義大利
麵，香腸，玉米，火腿，麵包，生菜還有最重要的馬鈴薯！吃完晚餐我們都會吃
小點心，有時候吃冰淇淋有時候吃小蛋糕！Mave 說晚餐是大餐所以都會吃比較
多，早餐午餐都是小餐，如果吃太多上班上課就會昏昏沉沉的，所以晚餐要吃多
一點！我記得有一次在聊天 Mave 說我們很幸運來英國每天都是晴天，之前來的
學生他們每天都是下雨天！他們已經有四年左右沒有看到那麼美的太陽了！聽
到他這樣說，我真的覺得好幸運啊！ 每天我們都會一起看電視， 因為太陽十點
才下山，大概八點多我會去散步兩個小時，我都利用散步的時間去探索每一條
路。有兩個晚上，和幾個同學去一位英國朋友家烤肉還有做蛋糕！這個真的是很
特別的體驗。尤其是烤肉那天還下雨！雖然下雨，我們還是擁有一個愉快的夜
晚！
2013/8/10 帶著難過不捨的心情離開了坎大，離開了老師，離開了蘭卡斯特，也離
開的寄宿家庭。在上車前抱著 Mave 跟 Sam 好久好久，眼淚也一直流出來。Sam
很 man 的親了我一下，把我抱得很緊說 take care。雖然跟他們相處才短短的四
個禮拜，他們卻像是我很親的家人！要離開他們真的很捨不得。第一次出國就有
那麼美好的回憶我真的很開心！尤其是英文能力真的進步了很多！其實要打心
得我覺得有點困難，很多畫面及感受都是很難用言語去形容的！這些回憶烙印在
我心裡,永遠不會忘記！

13/07/2013 Saturday, in the early morning, my dad, mum, and younger sister drove
me from Taichung to Kaohsiung international airport together. Because that day was
a typhoon day, I was afraid that the flight to Hong Kong would be cancelled. We were
so lucky that the weather in Kaohsiung was not so bad, the flight could fly on time.
This is my first time to go abroad, so I felt so nervous and excited. My mum was really
worry about me, she said a lot of things what I had to notice. When we arrived to
Hong Kong, we didn’t have enough time to see the whole airport. From Hong Kong to
London was a very long journey; I watched a lot of films and also slept a lot. When I
saw the map on the monitor, it showed London was not far, it made my heart thump.
With the heart thumping, I arrived to London. When we checked the flight to
Manchester, we found that the flight was cancelled. All of us were so nervous, but
our leader Kelly found the service personnel to help us. In the final, we took the next
flight but the time was 8:25p.m., it was really late! Unfortunately, the flight was delay
at least 30 minutes, when we got on the plan; we still waited so long until 9:30p.m.
When we arrived to Manchester, it was already 10:30p.m., the timetable said we
would arrive at 8:00p.m., but we were late for 2 hours. When we were going to take
our luggage, we found that the luggage didn’t arrive; only mine arrived safely. Finally
saw the ambassador Laura, I felt so tired, but really happy. On the coach, Laura was
very enthusiastic, she talked a lot to us also taught us the difference between
American English and British English. It was 12 p.m., we finally arrived to University
of Cumbria. With nervous, I heard my host mother Mavis call my name. She came
and hug me then said nice to meet you, it’s a very long journey you must be so tired;
also I said hello to the host father Sam. When I saw them, I finally got to release the
burden on my heart. In the car, we had a short talk; Mavis said I can just call her
Mave. There’s the other international student lives in their home, called Adi. He is
from Pakistan but he was born in Afghan. My host family is very sweet and warm,
only one thing I was very afraid, that was I was very afraid that I couldn’t understand
what they’re talking about; because I learn American English not British English, the
accents are so different! So when they were talking, I had to be concentrated, they
also spoke more slowly. When we were home, Mave showed me my room; while I
saw the room, I screamed in my heart “This is the room that I really want to have!”
The decoration was very simple and sweet, I loved it so much. Mave knew that I
didn’t have dinner, so she made some sandwiches and British tea for me. While
eating, Mave and Sam were playing ipad and showing me their family members.
Because they’re old enough to be my grandparents, they played ipad was so cute,
they would bicker. After the small meal, I had a shower, washed off all the tiredness.
Sam and Mave stayed up until 2a.m. for me, I was very thankful. I only got along with
them 2 hours; I already loved them so much. The next day, I woke up at 11. Mave
made some ham and cheese sandwiches and British tea as our lunch. After lunch,
Sam and Mave took me to visit Mave’s sister Carole. In the afternoon, Mave taught
me how to take the bus to the university and town. And we went to a cellphone shop
to get a phone number so that I could call Sam and Mave or other friends. Because of
jet-lagged, I felt so tired, but I had to adjust the time difference. About 6, Mave and
Sam prepared the dinner; this was my very first British meal. After dinner, we
watched some TV shows, the shows in the UK are very different from Taiwanese.
The guests are invited to the show, if the guests win the money, they will donate all
the money to charities.
The first day to the university, our teacher Krista welcomed us at the gateway. She is
pretty and friendly, she is always with a big smile on her face. She led us to the library
to make our student cards. We were so surprised because we had to take a photo,
we didn’t know it so all of us didn’t dress up and make up. After making the
student cards, the other teacher Kim taught us how to borrow and return books.
After that we went to a classroom to fill some information on the internet. No longer,
everyone’s luggage arrived. Margret called each host family to come to the uni to
take the luggage home. In the afternoon, Laura went to town with us; because
during the class, Krista gave us some questions and we had to find out the answers
from the stores. Because most of the stores closed at 5:30p.m., we went home early.
In the uni, I learnt a lot of English, it’s very interesting, in American English we say
movie but in British English is film. Also I learnt how to communicate with host family.
During the class, Krista would give us handouts and we had to think first then made a
group to discuss, later Krista would give us the answers. I liked this kind of way to
learn English; it made me more impressive on what I learnt. Each week, we went to
different places, The Lake District, Beatrix Potter Attraction, Manchester, and
Liverpool. The most impressive one is The Lake District; the scenery was amazing just
like a painting. Peter Rabbit is a very famous character; I bought a lot of postcards
and sent to my family and friends, and bought a peter rabbit there. In Manchester,
we went to Manchester United, although I don’t know anything about football, I still
felt that it’s a cool place. In Liverpool, we went to The Beatles Story; I’m not a big fan
of them but I know many songs. In the museum, I enjoyed the music and knew more
about them. And I went to Jamie’s with Laura and Sherry, the food was nice but a
little bit expensive. It was a great experience to go to a restaurant with friends.
My host family was fantastic! Mave and Sam prepared the meals with their heart. We
ate pie, sausage, corn, ham, bread, salad and the most important is potato! After
dinner, we usually had some desserts, sometimes ice cream, and sometimes cake.
Mave said dinner is a big meal so we eat a lot, breakfast and lunch are small meals, if
we eat too much we will feel sleepy during school time and work time. I remembered
once Mave told me that I’m so luck that I come to England and everyday is a sunny
day. The previous students didn’t have sunny days, they had rain every day. They
haven’t seen such a beautiful sun for four years! I was so surprised and felt so lucky.
Every day, we watched TV together; about 8p.m. I walked around until 10, I used
these time to explore each road. There were two nights; I went to an English friend’s
home to BBQ and make cakes with some classmates. These two days were very
special for me, especially BBQ, it was raining, although it rained, we still had a lot of
fun.
10/08/2013 with sadness, I left the University of Cumbria, I left teachers, I left
Lancaster and I left my host family. Before got on the coach, I hug Mave and Sam for
so long and cried. Sam kissed and hug me then said take care. Although I only got
along with them for four weeks, they like my real family. They treated me as one of
their family members, I had to leave them, I felt really sad. This is my first time to go
abroad, I had such a wonderful memory, I’m really happy. Especially my English
improves a lot. In fact, it’s hard to write feedback, a lot of memories and feelings are
difficult to describe with words. I will never forget these memories.

經過將近二十四小時，我們英國團終於抵達英國的 Lancaster。在英國的蘭
卡斯特這裡，我的寄宿家庭是一對和藹可親的夫妻，他們的兩個小孩已經很大了
並且在外工作。
我住的房子是窄長型的，房子內部相對台灣來講沒有很大，房子裏頭的擺設
給人一種很溫馨的氣氛。與 Home 爸和 Home 媽溝通基本上是沒有問題，英國人
的休閒或嗜好有很多，最常見的是園藝，英國人房子的前院或後院常常會種一些
花花草草，美化自己的家，幾乎所有的英國人都會這樣，也因為這樣，走在街道
上會感覺很整齊很美觀，這真是一舉兩得。
我們在台灣學的是美式英文，在英國說的是英式英文，所以有些單字或用法
會有一些差異，舉例來說，像是藥店，我們常常說 drugstore，在英國他們說
pharmacy 或 chemist；電視，我們說 TV 或 Television，他們說 Telly。有一個比較
容易引起誤會的是，內褲的說法，我們會說 Underwear，他們會說 Pants 或者是
Knicker，而 Pants 對我們來說是褲子的意思，當你對英國人說 '' Your pants look
nice '' 他們會覺得很奇怪。
在英國，最讓我覺得最棒的一件事就是英國這裡的天氣，夏天溫度是十八度
左右，相當舒爽，因此我也很喜歡在英國走路，因為走路不會因為流汗而濕濕黏
黏的，一流汗很快就乾了。另一個喜歡在英國走路的原因是英國街道兩旁都有人
行道，不必跟車子爭道，過馬路時會有紅綠燈。有別於台灣，交通號誌的柱子上
會有按鈕，要過馬路時就要按按鈕，桿子上面的攝影機就會偵測有沒有人，然後
過一會兒，紅綠燈就會變紅燈，小綠人會亮起，人就可以過去了，否則車子會一
直過。
英國的地理環境很好，沒有像台灣那樣有地震，因而保留了很多古老的建
築。英國的城堡很多，我住的 Lancaster 就有一座城堡，以前是給國王和女王居
住的，現在大多開放讓遊客參觀。城堡裡有監獄，我有進去牢房裡體驗囚犯被關
在牢房的感覺，牢房裡非常暗，完全沒有光，囚犯只能在黑暗中度過在牢房裡的
生活，很難想像他們在牢房裡的景象。
這次到英國是要到學校上課的，每天走路大概 20 分鐘左右到學校，這所
Cumbria University 是由幾所學校合併的，主要目的是培訓老師。我們這團是統一
在一個班級上課，課程主要是學習英國當地的文化、語言以及生活方式。在學校
上課非常有趣，老師會教導你許多在英國常常用到的語言或者是對話方式，不是
自己一個在黑板上講話而我們聽這樣的感覺，我們是分成幾個組別，以要上課的
主題為準則然後分組討論，先以自己的想法或見解來猜猜看答案，之後老師會統
一為我們做詳細的解說。
在英國的飲食可以說是少量而精緻，早餐我常常吃的是巧克力麥片加牛奶，
其他同學的寄宿家庭有時會煎個蛋配火腿或培根；他們的午餐通常都會吃得很
少，晚餐才會吃多一點，像是吃個大餐，晚餐他們也會叫 Tea time 。
學校有安排我們參與一些活動，像是到一戶人家的農場採水果，農場大小跟
台灣比起來真是天壤之別，一望無際，從這裡的邊界很難看到對面的邊界，這戶
人家有草莓、覆盆子、紅莓和黑莓，都可以自己摘，之後要帶出去再秤重算錢。
這裡的草莓普遍都比台灣小，但他們說小的吃起來比較甜。採完草莓後我們到一
間教會裡吃我們摘的水果和聊天，問他們後才知道這一整個活動叫 '' The
International Cafe Club '' 辦的，每個星期都會舉辦一次，但只在夏天舉辦，因為
冬天沒有草莓。這個活動主要是可以遇到國際性的朋友而且和他們聊天。
在英國有一個跟台灣不一樣的特色就是他們的 PUB，說到 PUB，對我們台灣
人的第一印象就是燈光昏暗、人擠人而且音樂開的震耳欲聾使人感到不舒服，相
反的在英國的 PUB 並不是那樣。英國的 PUB 一樣有酒，有餐點可以讓你吃，但
是燈光不會昏暗，音樂不會開很大聲，只是給人可以喝酒、聊天的場所，這種氣
氛感覺就像台灣的簡餐餐廳，只是餐點沒那麼多。如果你想要感受像台灣的 PUB
的氣氛，那可以到英國的 CLUB，CLUB 的氛圍就是像台灣的 PUB 那樣。
到英國的第二個禮拜三，我們一行人坐上學校安排的小型巴士歷時一個多小
時到 Manchester，第一站先去 Old Trafford ， 一個 Football Stadium。這是一個
足球隊 '' Manchester Untied '' 的主場，有解說員為我們說明他們的歷史和這個
球隊拿冠軍的輝煌紀錄，其中貝克漢就是 '' Manchester Untied '' 的一員，球場
很大，有七萬六千個座位，比台灣的棒球場還大很多。中午吃完 Pack lunch 後，
就放我們自由參觀，Manchester 是個很國際化的城市，走在路上都可以看到許
多不同國家的人，大部分的外國人是中東人或是印度人且多數是伊斯蘭教徒，高
樓也比 Lancaster 多。
除了在 Lancaster，我們還自己規劃了行程，利用星期六和星期天到倫敦玩。
在星期五下午三點我們坐火車花了三個小時到倫敦。我們做到 Euston station 後
再轉搭地鐵到距離我們要住得 Hostel (London Eye Hostel) 較近的地鐵。倫敦真的
是一個 busy city ，人們的步調都很快，走出車站更可以感受到倫敦街道上那種
繁忙的氛圍。
晚上我們到 Noado's restaurant 吃飯，吃完後逛了幾個景點順便看夜景。
星期六早上起來在 hostel 吃早餐，他們是自助式的，到廚房後，桌上有幾種不同
的麥片、牛奶、吐司，看要吃什麼自己用。吃完早餐後我們到一部小說--福爾摩
斯內容當中，所描述其住址所在地，還有到蠟像館。中午吃完中餐後我們到大英
博物館參觀，逛到吃晚餐。
星期日我們搭遊覽車花二個小時到目的地，那裡是一望無際的草原，非常遼闊，
很荒郊野外的感覺，那裡的風非常大，冷風一直吹，讓我一直發抖。在那邊我們
只看了半個多小時，因為巨石陣就是在廣大的草原上的一小點，不過還是看到赫
赫有名的巨石陣。

After nearly twenty-four hours we finally arrived at the Lancaster. In Lancaster,
my host family is a pair of pleasant and amiable husband, and their two children has
been grown up and working outside.
I live in the house is long and narrow type, the relative interior of the house is
not much in terms of Taiwan, the furnishings inside the house gives a very warm
atmosphere.
With host father and host mother communication is basically no problem,
Home and Home Dad and Mom communication is basically no problem, the British
leisure or hobby there are many, the most common is gardening, house front yard or
backyard often plant some flowers to beautify their homes, almost all Britons are so,
it is because of this, walking in the street will feel very neat and beautiful.
In the UK, the most I think the best thing is that the British weather here,

Another reason prefer to walk in the UK is the UK streets have sidewalks, the car

Unlike Taiwan, we need to press the button which is on the traffic pillars when we
cross the streets , the camera which on the pillars will detect whether the people
really cross the streets, and then after a while, the traffic lights will become red, little
green men will light up, people can pass the streets, otherwise the car would stop
when light turn red.
Britain's geographical environment is very good, did not like that there is an
earthquake in Taiwan, which retains many of the old buildings. English castle lot, I
lived in Lancaster had a castle, former residence of the king and queen, now mostly
open to visitors. There have prison in the castle, I go to prison and become a prisoner
to experience the feeling of being locked in his cell, the cell is very dark, there is no
light, the prisoner can only be spent their time in the dark environment, it is difficult
to imagine them in the cell's life.
In Taiwan, we learn American English, and in the UK says British English, so
some word or usage will be some differences. for example, such as pharmacies, we
often say that drugstore by American English, but in the UK they often say chemist or
pharmacy; TV , we say that a TV or Television, they said Telly. There is a relatively
easy misunderstanding is underwear of way of saying a word, we will say Underwear,
they would say pants or knicker, but the pants we mean what we wear outside, so
when you said to the British'' Your pants look nice ''They will feel very strange.
We have to go to school during the time that we are in the UK, and every day
about 20 minutes to walk to school, which is determined by the Cumbria University
merged several schools, the main purpose is to train teachers. Our group is united in
a classroom, courses are mainly learning English local culture, language and lifestyle.
Very interesting in the school, the teacher will teach you a lot of the language which
is often used in the United Kingdom or a dialogue, not just herself speech on the
blackboard and we listen to her, we are divided into several groups and discuss the
theme which teacher give us, first we can guess the answer by our ideas, after that,
our teachers will give us the answers and do a detailed explanation.
In the UK diet can be said that small amount and refinement. The breakfast I
often eat chocolate cereal with milk, other students' host family sometimes cook
fried eggs with ham or bacon; lunch in the UK usually eat very little, they often eat a
big meal in the dinner, the dinner they will be called Tea time in the UK.
School has arranged for us to participate in some activities, such as go to a
family farm picking fruit, the farm size was really big difference compared with
Taiwan, endless, hard to see from here across the border to the border, this farm
have many fruit including strawberries, raspberry and blackberry, it is up to us to pick
any fruit in the farm, then they have to count the money by weight when we take out.

the more sweet to eat. After picking strawberries we went to a church and ate the
fruit and chatted with other people, ask them to know that the whole event is called''
The International Cafe Club'' , held once every week, but only held in the summer,
because the winter is no strawberries. This activity is mainly international friends can
meet and chat with them, we were enjoy this activity and hope had another chance
to join this activity.
In the UK and Taiwan have a different characteristic is their PUB, speaking of
PUB, our Taiwanese first impression is dimly lit, crowded and loud music, people feel
uncomfortable. The opposite in the UK's PUB. Also have many kind of wine in the
PUB, there are meals can make you eat, but did not have dim lights, loud music, the
pub in the UK giving drink, chat with people, this atmosphere feels like small
restaurant in Taiwan , but not so many meals you can choose. If you want to feel like
Taiwan PUB atmosphere, it can go to the UK CLUB, CLUB atmosphere is like that of
Taiwan PUB.
The second Wednesday to the UK, we have a activity that school arranged to us,
university of Cumbria arranged minibus for us to Manchester. We spend last more
than one hour to Manchester, the first station to go is to Old Trafford, a Football
Stadium. This is a football team'' Manchester Untied'' home, there is the narrator
illustrate their history and splendor of this team to take the championship record,
Beckham is one of the '' Manchester Untied'' football player , Old Trafford is a great
stadium, there have seventy-six thousand seats, compared with Taiwan's baseball

ambassador let us free to visit Manchester city, Manchester is a very cosmopolitan
city, walking on the road can be seen in many different countries, most of whom are
foreigners and most Middle Eastern or Indian Islam Christian, the building are usually
higher than in Lancaster.
In addition to Lancaster, we also plan our own trip to London on Saturday and
Sunday . On Friday afternoon we spent three hours by train to London. We arrived at
Euston station and then turn the subway into the distance we have to live in Hostel
(London Eye Hostel) close to the subway. London really is a busy city, people's pace
very quickly, out of the station on the streets of London more you can feel the kind of
busy atmosphere.
We went to Noado's restaurant to eat dinner, after eating, we stroll a few spots and
see night view at night.
Saturday morning we ate breakfast at the hostel, they are buffet style in the kitchen,
on the table, there are several different cereals, milk, toast, etc. You can eat on your
own. After breakfast we went to a novel - Sherlock Holmes content which, as
described in his residential location, as well as to the Wax Museum. After finish the
lunch, we went to the British Museum till we went to eat dinner.
Sunday we take a tour bus took two hours to the destination, there is the endless
prairie, very vast, it is the feeling of wilderness, where the wind is very large, cold
wind has been blowing, so I've been shaking. We look in there for half an hour,
because Stonehenge is in the vast grasslands on a small point, but still see the
well-known Stonehenge.

那是一個開始，卻不會有結束的那天，當我不敢置信地掐了我自己一把證明
了不是在夢境，得知了自己錄取了學海獎學金，是那麼的刻骨又銘心。行前興奮
的直跑書店找書、上網搜尋資料，就只是想更了解這個總是聽聞許久卻始終沒機
會前往的國度-----英國。隨著日子一天一天的接近，心情也開始忐忑起來，就再
出發的前幾天有個颱風來攪局，號稱是史上最強的颶颱，不安與緊張更是渲染了
整個心。當天，清晨 3 點從家裡風雨無阻、戰戰兢兢地開著車到了高雄小港機場，
陌生的環視著一一前來集合的團員們，因為沒睡好而僵硬的笑臉，定眼對到對方
反而噗哧的笑了出來，開始慢慢鬆解那些距離感。終於所有人聚集完畢，辛苦的
老師和旅行社辦公人員交代好所有的事宜，拍了張紀念性的大合照，不捨的揮別
了陪伴在旁的父母、揮別了台灣第二大的國際機場、更揮別了生活 19 年的「台
灣」。
飛行日記第一階段來到了香港，下了飛機就開始懵懵懂懂的照著指標去轉
機，因為時間不多場地又廣大，所以大家根本以超音速的方式進行，沒多少停留
時間好好看便又啟程前往下一個停滯點。當沖破了地平線時，飛行日記又開始記
錄，橫跨了歐亞大陸，從低緯到高緯，往下看去穿過雲層，偶爾還看到一大片的
黃土高原，十幾個小時的飛行，偶爾幻想著底下的人正在做什麼呢?那軟綿綿的
雲躺下去又是如何呢?當然卻也敵不過睡神的召喚，時醒時睡、昏昏沉沉的到達
了第二的轉點。到達倫敦的希斯洛機場，奔波的走過一關又一關的檢查，因為實
在太大了所以還得做地下鐵到不同的航廈去轉乘飛機，當我們整群又一起嘻嘻哈
哈度過入境關卡時，走第一個的突然停了下來，笑容就這麼僵在臉上，我發現不
對勁，一轉身，變成第二個化石，直到整群人都石化在飛航表前面，因為……我
們的飛機居然被取消了！
「嘟嘟嘟…您的電話將通到語音信箱」對外聯絡國際電話不通，跟在地航警
借電話打給聯絡人也無法聯繫上，只好用著混雜式文法詢問服務處請求協助，也
在一陣旁邊人比手劃腳之後完成了改班劃位的行動。看著倫敦的天空由白轉黑，
低頭看了仍在轉動著台灣時刻的錶，原來不知不覺，在等待與轉乘的歲月流逝
下，我們的飛行日記已經過了 24 小時了。
疲憊的拖著身軀，好不容易我們終於到達了未來一個月要生活的地點－蘭卡
斯特。眼皮已經都快要相親相愛的關起來了，但還是忍著疲倦，睜大雙眼的在等
候處等著一一前來接人的寄宿家庭，雖然等待很漫長，每一分一秒都像一年那麼
難熬。看大家一個一個帶著笑容與寄宿家庭的離開，我就越來越緊張，腦子一分
鐘跑了幾十萬上下個問題和擔憂，然後在我的 home 媽下車來迎接我們的同時卡
在一個當機的狀態，就這麼呆回了新家。
Home 媽帶我們看了未來一個月要生活的地方後，便讓我們整理休息。再醒
來的時候還要等幾秒讓自己清醒瞭解已經是在一個不同的時空環境了。轉呀轉
的，不知不覺時間匆匆的過去，一般的時間課程教會了我們許多關於英式英文的
用法、英國的民俗與文化，也帶我們更深入了解這個小村莊的一點一滴。人生中
看過的第一個城堡、歷史之都，更在忙裡抽閒中，從北走到南，蘇格蘭的愛丁堡、
孕育著彼得兔的湖區、風靡全球的曼徹斯特、披頭四故鄉利物浦、英國首都迷霧
倫敦，每一個瞬間都成了永恆，像愛麗絲夢遊仙境一樣，懵懵懂懂的闖著、衝著。
學到的東西真的多的手指數不清，自己獨立上課，健走般的每天一萬步到學
校，到市中心採買日常所需，增加英文聽說讀寫能力，已經不僅僅是坐在教室聽
著老師遵遵教誨，連平常在街上都要自己鼓起勇氣去詢問那一個個高大壯碩不同
樣貌的陌生人。更在自行規劃出遊，行前規劃、活動中突發狀況、團員間的默契，
接踵而至的問題，是平常在台灣有家人、朋友的安全羽翼之下無法學習到的，有
些事雖然辛苦，但回想起來真的很值得，謝謝義守大學給我這個機會，出去見識
了不同國家不同的習俗文化，英文實力的增長，體驗了完全不同生活背景的日
子，有些人…有些事情…有些物…是一輩子的想忘，也忘不了的，未來，我將更
加努力，爭取更多出走的機會，補足自己的不足，開拓自己的視野，也體驗更多
不同的習俗文化，更從中學習融合過後，成為更全方位的廚師。

This is the first time that I’ve already gotten the chance to study abroad. I
appreciate teachers’ help and gave one of the opportunities to me. Studying abroad
has always been my dream since I was child. Although the beginning was not
perfect,it was still an unforgettable memory. People we went England got closer
because we faced a lot of serious problem and solved them together. When the time
we were leaving Taiwan, a typhoon came. We are so afraid that the leaving eve we
can’t sleep but watching the television to wait for the new whether the flight will be
cancelled or not. Fortunately,other places rain cats and dogs,but it was no rain and
cloud in Kaohsiung. Finally,we left Taiwan without any trouble.
It took 24 hours taking an airplane and waiting from Taiwan to Lancaster the
nourthen part of England. Not like others passengers arrived with big smiles on face.
We were too tired to do anything inspired. Because we just through a lot of hard
time. Not only the flight from London to Manchaster had been cancelled,but also our
luggages were gone. They were missing on the way we went to England.When we got
to Manchaster, the first person we met named Laura. She is so nice that she wasn’t
angry about our delate flight made her wait for more than two hours with no
message. Without any complament ,she still smile at us and welcome us
enthusiastic.That really made us relax and help us a lot.
We went back to school ‘ University of Cumbria’ to wait for the house family
come to pick me up. My house mom’s name is Val. I wouldn’t forget the time we met
each other. She gave me a big,warm hug.It’s a really touching action after a
long ,tired trip. And someone is so welcome our arrival. We went back to the house
we’ll stay for a month,chatting a while,then lying on the bed and said goodbye to
each other . The next day, I met whole the house member,father Phil,brother Zac and
Rory, sister Rosie.
English life began like a story.Everything was so fresh to me that I kept asking
questions. First two weeks’ teacher Krista is a Canadian.She has traveled a lot of
countries, love to eat sushi.She taught us a lot of side about British,including England
English skills,vocabularies,history and culture. She is an enthusiastic and energetic
teacher. No matter what problem we made, she always helped us as possible as she
could without any complaint.
We’ve been many cities in England for a month. School planned one-day trip
like going to the Lake District, Manchaster, Liverpool, Morecambe ,Preston. Every
place has its unique thing. The Lake District is famous for the Peter Rabit’s author
Beatrix Potter. Manchaster is well-known for Manchester United. Many soccer player
that many people have ever heard were all from this Manchester United. Manchaster
is also the second capital in England. Liverpool is The Beatles’ hometown.
Morecambe is near Lancaster ,has a huge beach. It was prosperous,but now the
tourist is getting lower and lower.
We also planned to go other big cities on the weekend by train by ourselves.
We went to the noorthen part of England Island—Scotland. The famous big city is
Edinburgh in Scotland. It was fun about the two days’ trip. We went to St. Mary’s
close, Scott Monument, Edinburgh Castle, the elephant house that is J.K Rowling
wrote the first Harry Potter.
The second trip is to London. I’ve always dreamed to go.Although we just went
for two days , I thought it’s still worth it. We saw the beautiful night view of London
Bridge /London Eye/Big Ben, walking along the River Thames, British Museum,
Sherlock Holmes Museum…etc. We also join the local trip group to the Stonehenge.
It was so amazing that I would not forget the first sight when I saw the Stonehenge.
Despite the fact that we ran into the robbers , it was safe in the end and nobody got
hurt.
There are too many detail I can write a long story about the whole month
where I’ve been? what I’ve eaten and tried? who I’ve met? How I felt? It was
definitely a worthy experience in my life. I learn to be more independent , more
organizational , more active and outgoing. Beause you had to do the thing by yourself
without anyone by your side. You had to move forward and took the courage to
stand a step, or you will always be in circle. No one will help you , that is the reality.
And at the same time I made a goal , I’ll study harder to get back to the beautiful
place one day. By having these special experience to remix my thinking , I would like
to be an international chef.
