1. See figure below. The bar is 1 m long, and its weight W = 2 kN acts at its midpoint. The
distance b = 0.75 m, and the angle α = 30º at the equilibrium. The spring is unstretched when the
bar is vertical.
(a) Draw a free body diagram for the bar (5);
(b) Find the tension in the spring (10);
(c) Find the spring constant k (10);
(d) Find the reactions at the pin support A (10).
