Voice specialist and choral director, Julia Hall is an HSPVA honors graduate. She has taught secondary choral music for 27 years, with 21 of those being at the high school level. Ms. Hall graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in music education, where she studied voice with Diane Tobola. She earned her master of music in choral conducting from the University of Houston. She was elected to Phi Kappa Phi (academic) and Pi Kappa Lambda (music) honor societies at U.H. Ms. Hall serves as a clinician and adjudicator for choral programs and Region choirs across the state. Under her preparation and direction, the 2011 Memorial Middle School Advanced Girls Choir performed for the Texas Music Educators Association convention and as guest artists with the Bay Area Chorus. A lifelong Episcopalian, Ms. Hall has served as a staff singer and music director for several churches and presently serves on the staff of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Houston, as youth choir director. In addition, she has sung with the Houston Chamber Choir, Houston Masterworks Chorus and Masterworks Chamber Choir, and Houston Symphony Chorus. Ms. Hall is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
