Isela Aguirre, born and raised in Houston, graduated from HSPVA in 1995. She received her bachelor of fine arts in
studio art photography from the University of Houston in 2001. Ms. Aguirre was an art consultant at HSPVA for the
three years and is now is very honored and excited to be the newest full-time art faculty member. She teaches
elements of principle and design, Photoshop, illustration, animation, and digital media. She is smitten getting to work
with the artistic youth of this generation. Ms. Aguirre hopes to continue the tradition of encouraging and modeling
enthusiastic, meaningful, fresh ways of contributing and being a part of an art community. HSPVA is her home away
from home. At home, however, she has a precious daughter, Phoebe, who was born on May 19, 2011.
