J ou r n e y The faculty, staff, and community of Reagan High School are committed to creating lifelong learners in an atmosphere of respect and responsibility. Students are encouraged to reach their maximum potential by promoting positive attitudes in a safe, nurturing environment and establishing high standards of excellence, character, academics, and international mindedness. In 2010, Reagan High School began investigating the feasibility of an IB Middle Year’s Programme (MYP) partnership with Hogg Middle School. Establishing this partnership would create the first International Baccalaureate continuum feeder pattern in the historic Heights neighborhood of Houston. Beginning in Harvard Elementary School’s IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and progressing to Hogg Middle School and Reagan High School’s IB Middle Years Programme, students would benefit from an education consistently presented through the IB lens . “These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and life-long learners who understand that other people with their differences can also be right.” (IBO, 2012.) In the fall of 2012, Harvard Elementary received official IB PYP authorization. In the spring of 2012, Hogg MS and Reagan HS began their journey, receiving official endorsement from the International Baccalaureate Organization of North America, as IB MYP candidate partner schools. Reagan HS and Hogg MS hope to obtain IB MYP authorization by Spring 2013. Re a ga n’s I B John H. Reagan High School Since 1926 John H.
