SES4U1: Earth Science Photography Assignment
Task: Find an example of earth science at work in nature. Take a photograph of the phenomenon and explain, using specific earth
science terms, the phenomenon shown.
Guidelines:
You will display a poster with the photo and explanation describing the earth science occurring in your photo.
Merit is awarded based on:
 The degree of thought and depth of your explanation.
 The degree of interest and creativity your photo displays.
Requirements:
Photograph can be in full colour, black/white, sepia, or colour accent.
Size - must be:
 8”x10” in size;
 Mounted on black, green, or blue Bristol board; and
 Have a 1 inch border around the photograph.
1 page, fully referenced, explanation of the Earth Science (geology, geomorphology, atmospheric science) depicted in the
photograph.
 Letter-sized, white paper;
 11-point, Arial/Calibri font, single spaced; with
 Half-inch (0.5”) margins; and
 Mounted on backside of Bristol board.
Full reference list in APA format on a separate page, citations in-text, attached to rubric/assignment sheet when handed in.
