Section A – Multichoice
Four or 5 option questions that focus predominantly (but not exclusively) on Units 1 and 2. There are
no trick questions and you do not lose 2 marks for an incorrect answer.
Section B – True and False
Questions are chosen from the entire course worth of material. No trick questions, and you do not
have to correct a false term.
Section C – Matching
There are 4 sections with 4 wordbanks of 10 terms / names. Each section has 5 questions. Each
correct match is worth 1 mark. Some sample terms are listed below:

Section D – Picture Identification and Case Studies
There are 3 pictures (3 marks each) that you will have to identify and explain relevance to the course.
There are 3 psychological Case Studies (3 marks each) that you will have to: 1) determine the specific
disorder / abnormal behaviour. 2) explain why you came with that diagnosis. 3) identify what group and Axis
the disorder is located in.
Section E – Short Answer
Some sample questions-these ARE SAMPLE QUESTIONS:
1. What are Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology? What are the similarities and differences
between all of them?
2. What kinds of questions are asked in each of the social sciences? For example, what questions
would an anthropologist, psychologist, and sociologist ask about crime rates?
3. How has Darwin’s theory of natural selection been used to justify for atrocities over the past two
hundred years? Provide one example.
4. A group is defined as two or more people who have 4 qualities. What are they?
5. How do cult leaders manipulate people into joining cults?
6. How do cliques get members to conform? Does this type of group have a positive or negative
impact on society? Why?
7. What is grief?
8. What is the purpose of prisons? Do you feel that prisons live up to their responsibilities? Why or
why not?
9. What is the difference between an isolate and a feral child? How is socialization impacted in each
of these situations?
10. Why is socialization important?

Section F – Long Answer / Essay
You will answer 1 question (no choice of questions) but you can choose HOW you will answer the
question. (or more specifically you will choose the perspective). This is worth 40 marks and has an
attached rubric.
Hints: humanness, nature vs. nurture, conflict & cohesion, benefits of studying the social sciences, the
differences between the 3 social sciences.
