STEP 1 Unscrew the current lens on your Cisco PVC2300 or WVC2300 IP camera. STEP 2 Ensure that the new lens is clean because any dirt may degrade the quality of video images. Save the lens opening dust cap and replace the dust cap if you remove the lens. Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 17 Accessory Installation Processes Installing a Lens 2 STEP 3 Screw the new lens onto the opening of the camera. The camera accepts both C- and CS-mount lenses. • If you are using a CS-mount lens, screw the lens into the lens opening. • If you are using the C-mount lens then you need to use the C-mount 5 mm lens adapter ring. The adapter ring is included with the camera. • If you are using a DC auto iris lens, connect its cable to the DC auto iris lens connector on the IP camera. The illustrations below show the location of the connector on the IP camera. STEP 4 If you have a manual iris lens, adjust the iris according to the prevailing light conditions. STEP 5 Adjust the focus of your lens. Turn the lens slowly either clockwise or counterclockwise until the desired image appears. Do not turn the lens too far in either direction. Please note that the Cisco WVC2300 camera must be wired to be used in the enclosure. Wireless mode is not supported. Before You Begin If you plan to install this camera into a tropical, coastal, saltwater, or corrosive industrial water/moist environment, seal each stainless steel screw and fitting with a silicon grease compound. This compound prevents corrosion and extends the life span of the camera and the housing. STEP 3 Set up and focus your camera before placing it in the enclosure. When it is in the enclosure, you can’t make any more adjustments. Refer to the PVC2300 and WVC2300 Administration Guide for setup instructions. NOTE The Cisco WVC2300 camera must be wired to be used in the enclosure. Wireless mode is not supported. Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 21 Accessory Installation Processes Installing the PVC2300/WVC2300 Cameras in a VC 020 Enclosure 2 Preparing the Enclosure STEP 1 Use the provided wrench to remove the four screws that attach the enclosure cover to the base. STEP 2 Lift the enclosure cover off the base. STEP 3 Use the provided wrench to release the four keyhole screws, then slide the camera platform to withdraw it from the enclosure base. STEP 4 Use the supplied L-type hex wrench to detach the rectangular support from the camera platform. The rectangular support is required only during shipping. Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 22 Accessory Installation Processes Installing the PVC2300/WVC2300 Cameras in a VC 020 Enclosure 2 Preparing the Brackets This procedure describes how to connect the mounting bracket and the enclosure bracket. STEP 1 Using the L-type hex wrench, adjust the ball joint in the enclosure bracket to set the approximate direction the enclosure. STEP 2 Place the wall mount bracket and the enclosure bracket together. STEP 3 Screw the brackets together using the provided stainless steel screw and L-type hex wrench. Connecting the Cables Before completing this procedure, you must cut the camera’s Ethernet cable and the power cord as it will be necessary to feed them through the mounting brackets and the cable conduits found on the bottom of the enclosure. WARNING Equipment connected to outdoor cameras must be permanently grounded in accordance with national and local codes. Statement 374 WARNING Hazardous voltages may be present in the outdoor camera cables under fault conditions. Disconnect all cables from the outdoor cameras before servicing this equipment. Statement 376 WARNING Do not use this product near water; for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool. Statement 1035 WARNING Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations. Statement 1038 STEP 1 Feed the cut Ethernet cable and power cord through the brackets. STEP 2 Feed the Ethernet cable and power cord through the conduits found on the bottom of the enclosure. The power cord goes through the conduit closest to the power supply wiring. WARNING When stranded wiring is required, use approved wiring terminations, such as closed-loop or spade-type with upturned lugs. These terminations should be the appropriate size for the wires and should clamp both the insulation and conductor. Statement 1002 WARNING Use copper conductors only. STEP 4 Add the ferrite core on the Ethernet cable. Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 25 Accessory Installation Processes Installing the PVC2300/WVC2300 Cameras in a VC 020 Enclosure 2 STEP 5 Connect the power cord to the terminal block assembly. You can make these connections in one of two ways: color matching the wires, or using a multimeter to measure resistance from the power cord and the terminal block assembly. WARNING This equipment has been designed for connection to TN and IT power systems. Statement 1007 WARNING This equipment must be grounded. Never defeat the ground conductor or operate the equipment in the absence of a suitably installed ground conductor. Contact the appropriate electrical inspection authority or an electrician if you are uncertain that suitable grounding is available. Statement 1024 WARNING When installing or replacing the unit, the ground connection must always be made first and disconnected last. Statement 1046 WARNING Use copper conductors only. Statement 1025 WARNING The ground connection from the power cable MUST connect to the chassis first. The power cord ground wire must connect to the chassis ground terminal first. A closed loop connector must be attached to the ground and then attached to the screw and lock washer at the protective earth ground (PE). Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 26 Accessory Installation Processes Installing the PVC2300/WVC2300 Cameras in a VC 020 Enclosure 2 • To color match the wires It is highly recommended that the installer references an IEC standard wiring diagram, such as those found at http://www.allaboutcircuits.com. • If you are using a multimeter, and you have a properly labeled power cord, you can use the multimeter to register the resistance from the prongs. The following is an illustration of a labeled European AC power cord plug head, showing Live, Earth, Neutral. • If you are using a multimeter, the matched wire and plug will show resistance; mismatched will read OL (overload). By testing, the labeled plug pin on the cross-section indicates the exact wire, which you can then directly match on the enclosure power block assembly. The following is an illustration of a multimeter measuring the polarity of the wires. Note that the power cord ground wire (green/yellow in this case) does not connect to the terminal block; the ground connects directly to the chassis. To make the proper connections, refer to the following illustration that provides color mapping for the cable wires. STEP 7 Use the RJ45 crimping tool to clamp the plug to the wires. STEP 8 Use a network cable tester to test the Ethernet connections. Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 30 Accessory Installation Processes Installing the PVC2300/WVC2300 Cameras in a VC 020 Enclosure 2 STEP 9 Make any other I/O connections to the terminal block assembly (optional). • Pin 1, 2, 3 and 4 are DC 12C outputs for motor lenses, IR illuminators, sirens or speakers • Pins 5 and 6 are DC12V outputs for cameras NOTE If a pin is not in use, remove the cable from the connector. Camera Accessories Installation and Administration Guide 31 Accessory Installation Processes Installing the PVC2300/WVC2300 Cameras in a VC 020 Enclosure 2 Attaching the Camera to the Camera Platform In this procedure, you will attach the camera to the camera platform in the enclosure. STEP 1 From the accessory kit, remove a rectangular plastic pad and a steel washer. The pad and the washer are pictured below. STEP 2 Turn the camera upside down and find the mounting hole. STEP 3 Place the plastic pad over the mounting hole. STEP 4 Remove the screw from the camera platform. Place the washer on top of the camera platform, followed by the screw. STEP 5 Align the screw holes of the camera and camera platform. STEP 2 Insert and connect the power cord and Ethernet cable to the appropriate sockets. STEP 3 Using the two screws provided, secure the Cisco PVC300 network camera to the cross iron plate. STEP 5 Secure the Cisco PVC300 network camera to the enclosure with the two provided screws. STEP 6 Attach the enclosure cover to the enclosure. You attach the two pieces by twisting the cover into the groove found in the enclosure. CAUTION Repeated installations can make the cover difficult to attach to the enclosure. However, do not add lubrication to the groove in the enclosure. Adding lubrication could cause the seal to fail. Lubrication may allow water to enter the enclosure and harm the camera, or the cover to loosen over time and fall. STEP 7 Attach the enclosure to the appropriate bracket. The various brackets are shown in the illustration. STEP 8 Secure the enclosure to the selected bracket using the supplied L-type hex wrench. It is recommended that you use either an extension cord so the power adaptor can be placed indoors, or an electrical junction box. STEP 3 Place the camera into the base, aligning the bottom of the camera with the raised base of the enclosure.
