REMINDER: FIREWORKS NOT ALLOWED ON UH CAMPUS, HOUSTON CITY LIMITS
Houston, June 12, 2013 – With the Fourth of July holiday just three weeks away, the University of
Houston Fire Marshal’s Office would like to remind everyone that fireworks are not allowed on the
UH campus or within the city limits of Houston.
Although fireworks and Independence Day celebrations often go hand in hand, fireworks can be
dangerous when used improperly, causing serious burn and eye injuries. That is why the UH Fire
Marshal’s Office, along with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, strongly recommend that
people leave fireworks to the professionals.
