Division of Administration and Finance University Services Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ginger Walker Department of Public Safety 832-842-0583 gkwalker@uh.edu Salute to Law Enforcement 2010 University of Houston Department of Public Safety, Police Officers Frank Rosas and Monica Davison, along with officers from the U of H Downtown Police Department and U of H Clear Lake Police Department, participated in the 16th annual "SALUTE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT", event sponsored by Sprint, The Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, and Willowbrook Mall. Each year this event brings together approximately 100 agencies, over 300 officers and more than 140 exhibits to showcase officers, equipment, departmental services and display a unified law enforcement effort and event for the citizens and communities we serve. Officers had the opportunity to meet and greet the community. During this time they were able to provide information on the law enforcement profession and also on crime prevention/safety tips. Officer Rosas commented that it was an “awesome event, with great police and community interaction.” The event also helps draw attention to the law enforcement profession as we approach National Police Week activities. Many agencies also used the annual venue for RECRUITING new officers to our profession!
