PORTION OF PARKING LOT 19E WILL BE CLOSED OVER MLK HOLIDAY
Houston, Jan. 15, 2014 – A portion of ungated faculty/staff parking lot 19E will be closed off
during the MLK holiday weekend.
The closure will be from Saturday, Jan. 18, through Monday, Jan. 20. It will re-open on Tuesday,
Jan. 21. The concrete portion of the lot that once served as the foundation of the old Y Building
will be closed. The asphalt surface area will not be affected.
The closure is needed so workers can take soil samples in preparation for a new Multidisciplinary
Research and Engineering Building that will be constructed on the site.
Additional updates will be communicated as needed on the Parking and Transportation Services
website at www.uh.edu/parking. Additionally, the PTS Facebook and Twitter pages will be
updated with any additional information.
