Bicycle Parking Violations
The University of Houston Department of Public Safety’s (UHDPS) Fire Marshal Office
has been working closely with Residential Life and Housing on the violations of
improper locking of bicycles to access/egress railings. For the past few weeks, warning
notices have been tied to the bicycles affixed to railings falling under this violation. The
warning notices will be distributed for the rest of the week. Next week, the bicycles that
remain affixed to these railing will be removed and taken to the Police Department. If a
bicycle is removed, a notice will be left in its place notifying the owner of the how they
can retrieve their bicycle.
