Resolution S08.04 Residency Requirements for Certificates
Whereas, Current policy requires students intending to earn an associate degree to
complete a minimum of twelve (12) units in residence at Crafton Hills College;
Whereas, No similar policy governs students wishing to earn a certificate from the
college;
Whereas, A student could complete required coursework for a certificate elsewhere, then
transfer to Crafton Hills College and for a certificate without having successfully
completed any coursework at Crafton Hills College; and
Whereas, A certificate awarded by Crafton Hills College represents, to those outside the
college, coursework completed at the college;
Resolved, That the Crafton Hills College Academic Senate recommend that students
intending to earn a certificate complete no less than 50 percent of the courses required for
the certificate in residence at Crafton Hills College.
