Presentation sources maintain their aspect ratio
Video resolutions with a 4:3 aspect ratio (like SD and XGA) will be displayed locally and transmitted
maintaining the same aspect ratio. In Versions 1.00 & 1.10 the scaling of the SD image to 1080p also
stretched the image horizontally to fill the screen.

Figure 1: HD and 4:3 Aspect Ratio
Note: The WIL-D-001 module will need the scaler firmware upgrade to V1.03 to maintain the aspect
ratio. Please contact Technical Support regarding scaler firmware upgrade.

Hardware changes
Released February 2013 the VX Clinical Assistant (Version 1.2) includes the following component
changes. These changes do not affect the base operation but do offer the improved capabilities of the
SX20. It is now necessary to identify the codec platform of the VXCA as parts are not necessarily
interchangeable.
Cisco TelePresence SX20 Codec
Provides the same features and functions as the Cisco C20 codec version, in addition to MultiSite
(optional) and main video transmission at 1080p@60fps (1080p@15fps for the presentation video).
Figure 1: Cisco SX20
Figure 2: SX20 installed in VXCA 1.2
From more information on the Cisco TelePresence SX20, please see the Reference and Related
Documents section within this release notes.
Cisco PrecisionHD 4x Camera
This latest generation of 4x camera supports 1080p @ 60fps and uses the Cisco custom adaptor of HDMI,
power + control. Remove this cable to support the PrecisionHD 12x and older 4x camera.
New 24” monitor
The specifications and capabilities are equivalent to the current model though a modification to the
mounting bracket was required to bring the monitor forward 2” (5cm) to allow for the DVI-D video
connection. The monitor itself is DC powered with the AC/DC transformer installed in the base section.
Front Panel Audio In
Connecting a source to this input now mutes the audio from the PC connection in the rear interface panel.
Identifying your VXCA platform
The VXCA platform can identified in the following ways:

By reading the codec model from the system status message (see above)

System Serial number format:

o
C20 platform (Version: 1.0 & 1.1):
FPT _ _ _ _ Y _ _ _
o
SX20 platform (Version 1.2):

The source buttons 1 to 5 and PC each correspond with the video inputs on the back of the systems.
Video sources 1, 2, 3, and PC support both HD \ PC and SD inputs. All digital and PC video signals have
priority over SD video signals (S-Video and composite) and will automatically look for these signals and
then fall back to SD. The user has the ability to switch between the HD \ PC and SD inputs by pressing
and holding down the source button for 3 seconds.
