Program Review Unit Categories Category 1 – Units that have value, or had value in the past, strong evidence that they are salvageable (may lack a champion, may need to be brought up‐to‐date, might need new facilities, faculty, or an infusion of other resources) Category 2 – Units that may need to end as a result of continuing problems and poor performance Category 3 – Units that generate attention, students, are growing and may be highly entrepreneurial Category 4 – Units that are fundamental to a college education or contain core courses that support other programs and units NOTES: Category placement results from discussion among all committee members Purpose – a mix of programs at the college level to maintain college health Revised: August 2008 1 of 1
