I WANT TO HELP MY COMMUNITY!! SOCIAL SERVICE/CHARITY PAMPHLET Civics Culminating Assignment You are a Canadian citizen who wants to HELP your community in Peel Region. You have decided that you will create a Social Services Grass Roots Charity to help the biggest issue plaguing the citizens in Peel. You need to get your name and your message out to the people of Peel. You have decided to mail out a small booklet/pamphlet that shows the citizens of Peel Region what the major issues in the community are and how your charity will help the people plagued by this issue. You will also provide people the opportunity to help your charity by giving them information on how they can get involved. Your Pamphlet must include the following: A name for your charity and a mission statement Information on the Issue that affects citizens of Peel that you have decided to focus on Statistics on the issue in Peel Region and/or Ontario What services your charity will provide Who your charity will help and how they can get help How your charity is funded How people can help your charity (volunteering/donations/charity events/etc.) Why people should help Contact Information Assignment Requirements: The pamphlet must look and sound authentic- headings/titles, a cover page, pictures, etc. Make it original, creative and colourful, visual and eye catching The pamphlet must contain research information and must be written in YOUR OWN WORDS. (Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in a mark of ZERO) The pamphlet must be typed and well organized The minimum size font is 10 and the maximum is 12 A list of works cited (in proper APA Format) must be included on a separate sheet Take advantage of the various publishing programs that exist to help you create and organize your pamphlet (ex. Microsoft Publisher) A culminating activity is a long-term task that takes both time and patience. It is about both the process and the final product.
