I Eligibility of Admission The course of study for the Bachelor of physical education shall be open only to those students who have passed a degree examination of this university or U.G.C. recognized university or as per the N.C.T.E. norms and government of Maharashtra Norms. B.P.Ed. 1: Duration of the course The course of study shall be for one academic year in a College affiliated to this university. B.P.Ed. 2: Attendance, progress and conduct: A student shall not be admitted to the examination unless he/she has kept not less than 75% of the total attendance in theory & practical work and has produced a certificated from the head of the institution certifying that his/her progress and conduct have been satisfactory B.P.Ed. 3: Eligibility for the award of Bachelor of Physical Education Degree. No candidate shall be eligible for award of Bachelor of Physical Education degree unless he/she has completed the prescribed course of study in an institution or institution approved for the purpose and has satisfied the examination in the qualifying examination. Scheme of Examination The scheme of examination shall be a total of 1200 mark out of which 330 marks (300+30) shall be evaluated in Semester – I & 330 marks (300+30) shall be evaluated in Semester – II. Practical work i.e. Internal Practical work 370 marks & University Annual Pactical Examination 170 marks shall be evaluated by End of the Academic Year. Note: One Marks weight age shall be allotted for each practical period approximately B.P.Ed. 2 : Standard of Passing i) No Candidate will be allowed to appear for the University Examination unless he/she obtains satisfactory progress certificate to be certificated by the Head of the institution. ii) (A) Semester - I - Part- I Theory Examination :Minimum marks for passing in each theory paper shall be 40 % and in aggregate 45%. External assessment of each theory paper (50 marks) and internal assessment of each theory paper 05 marks) shall be added together for passing. (B) Semester - II - Part- II Theory Examination :Minimum marks for passing in each theory paper shall be 40 % and in aggregate 45%. External assessment of each theory paper (50 marks) and internal assessment of each theory paper 05 marks) shall be added together for passing. iii) B.P.Ed part I, II, III IV shall be a separate head for passing the examination. iv) A candidate who fails in theory or in practical may be allowed to reappear at a subsequent examination / examinations without attending the institution. v) A candidate who fails both in theory and in practical may be allowed to reappear as per university rule. vi) Marks required for exemption of theory paper should be 45% and above of the total marks in the subject vii) The student who has failed or not appeared for the semester – I (Part-I) Theory Examination can appeared for the semester –II (Part-II) Theory Examination but he/she has to pass separately both i.e. semester- I Theory Examination & semester- II Theory Examination.. B.P.ED. – PART- IV - PRACTICAL EXAMINATION (External assessment) (Marks- 170) The practical part of the examination shall consist of the following Lesson on Physical Activities 50 Marks Any one of the selected subject 50 marks Practical - First Aid Lesson in Teaching techniques of Athletics 20 Marks 25 Marks (Any one technique) Lesson in officiating Technique in team events 25 Marks Or individual sports The duration of a lesson shall be 30 mts. The university shall conduct the practical examination. The university will conduct practical and theory examinations and shall appoint qualified examiners. A separate chairman shall be appointed for theory and practical respectively. Qualified examiners having three-year experience in theory at B.P.Ed level shall be appointed in theory paper setting and assessment. CONDUCT OF PRACTICAL EXAMINATION: The University shall appoint equal number of internal and external examiners For smooth conduct of annual practical examination, the college shall appoint organizers. One for school subject lesson and one for Physical Education lesson & also three peons shall be appointed by the college out of which two for Physical Education lesson and one for school lesson.
