Iranian Gas Standards (IGS) are prepared , reviewed and ammended by technical standard committees within NIGC Standardization Div. and submitted to the NIGC's “STANDARDS COUNCIL“ for approval . THE VESSELS WILL BE OPERATING IN OUTDOOR CONDITION , UNDER SUN AND RAIN. 4.2 FILTER SHALL BE DESIGNED TO WITHSTANDE THE LOADS EXERTED BY INTERNAL PRESSURE , WEIGHT OF THE VESSEL , WIND , EARTHQUAKE , IMPACT AND TEMPERARURE. 4.3 FILTER SHALL BE DESIGNED TO REMOVE ENTRAINED SOLID PARTICLES DOWN TO 5 MICRONS FROM THE DRY GAS TREAM USING A DISPOSABLE CLEANABLE CARTRIDGE ELEMENT SUPPORTED BOTH INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY BY A MILD STEEL CADMIUM PLATED DOUBLE WALLED BASKE . 4.4 CARTRIDGE ELEMENT SHALL PREFERABLY BE OF THE OPENENDED TYPE MANUFACTURED FROM EITHER A WOVEN POLYPROPELENE FIBER OR PHENO… RESIN BONDED GLASS FIBER OR SUITABLE EQUIVALENTS. 4.5 FILTER ELEMENT SHALL BE FIRMLY CLAMPED ONTO THE BASKET SEAT TO PREVENT ANY POSSIBLE BY PASS OF PARTICLES OVER 5 MICRONS IN SIZE. 4.6 THE FILTER SHALL BE DESIGNED TO GIVE A MINIMUM FLANGE TO FLANGE CLEAN PRESSURE DROP, (NORMALLY 3 IGS-M-PM-105(0)-1999 LESS THAN 2 PSI) AND THE ELEMENTS SHALL BE CHANGED AT DIRTY PRESSURE DROP OF 10 PSI BUT BE CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING UP TO 25 PSI DEFFERENTIAL PRESSURE WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE OCCURRING. 4.7 ALL FILTERS EXCEPT THOSE OF 3.4 SHALL BE FITTED WITH A QUICK AND EASY OPENING FULL BORE END CLOSURE TO ALLOW RAPID REPLACEMENT OF CARTRIDGE ELEMENTS WITH THE MINIMUM OF DOWN-TIME, CLOSURE TO BE FITTED WITH DAVIT. TWO TYPES OF CLOSURE ARE ACCEPTABLE I.E . CLOSURES OF THE “YOKE” TYPE OR 360 LOCKING TYPE. 4.7.1 CLOSURES SHALL COMPLY WITH ASME VIII DIVISION 1 SUB SECTION A PART UG-35 IN SO FAR AS CLOSURES SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED SO THAT IT MAY BE DETERMINED BY VISUAL EXTERNAL OBSERVATION THAT THE LOCKING ELEMENT IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND IN FULL ENGAGEMENT WHEN THE CLOSURE IS IN THE CLOSED POSITION. 4.7.2 TOKE TYPE CLOSURES SHALL BE DEFINED AS A DOUBLE ANCHORED RETAINING BRIDGE WITH A SINGLE SCREW LOCKING ELEMENT SUCH THAT THE COVER CAN BE SWUNG CLEAR OF THE FILTER IN MORE THAN ONE DIRECTION. 4.7.3 QUICK OPENING CLOSURE SHALL BE DESIGNED SO THAT NO TOOLS, LIFTTING GEAR OR SPECIALLISED KNOWLEDGE ARE REQUIRED FOR OPERATION. 4.7.4 THE FILTER SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A VENT VALVE TO DEPRESSURIZE IT PRIOR TO OPENING THE CLOSURE. NOTE: SAFETY INTERLOCK FUNCTION IS NOT NECESSARY. 4.7.5 YOKE TYPE CLOSURES MUST HOWEVER BE DESIGNED SO THAT ON OPERATION OF THE LOCKING ELEMENT THE COVER IS LIFTEN CLEAR OF THE FILTER BODY ,SO GIVING VISUAL INDICATION THAT ALL RESIDUAL PRESSURE HAS BEEN REMOVAL PRIOR TO RELEASING RETAINING BRIDGE. 4.7.6 360 LOCKING TYPE CLOSURES SHALL INCORPORATE A SAFETY BLEED INTERLOCK. 4 IGS-M-PM-105(0)-1999 THE SAFETY BLEED INTERLOCK SHALL ENSURE THAT THE CLOSURES CANNOT BE REMOVED UNTIL THE FILTER HAS BEEN DEPRESSURISED. 4.8 DRAIN VALVE(S) AS PER CLAUSE 3.2 OF THIS SPECIFICATION SHALL BE FLANGED END LUBRICATED PLUG TYPE OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION CONFORMING WITH BS 1570 AND API 6.D LUBRICATED PLUG VALVE(S) SIZE SHALL BE MIN. 2 INCH FOR BODY SIZE 6” AND LARGER AND MIN. 1 INCH FOR BODY SIZE 4” AND SMALLER. 4.9 DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GAUGES AS PER CLAUSE 3.3 OF THIS SPECIFICATION SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH AN ADJUSTABLE NEEDLE FOR RE-SETTING TO ZERO. DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GAUGE SHALL BE EITHER BELLOW OR PISTON TYPE. THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GAUGE MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE FILTER BODY VIA NEEDLE VALVES IN BOTH THE HIGH AND LOW PRESSURE LINES. DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE INDICATION SHALL BE FROM 0 TO 25 PSID. 4.10 HE MAXIMUM ALL ABLE WORKING PRESSURE FOR THE ESSELS SHALL BE LIMITED BY THE SHELL OR HEAD. 4.11 ANUFACTURE OF FILTER SHALL NOT COMMENCE PRIOR TO RECEIPT OF DRAWING AND DESIGN APPROVAL FROM THE PURCHASER. 4.12 O DETERMINE THE MAGNITUDE OF WIND LOAD AND EARTHQUAKE IT SHALL BE ASSUMED THAT WIND AND EARTHQUAKE LOADS DO NOT OCCUR SIMULTANEOUSLY , THEN THE VESSEL SHOULD BE DESIGNED FOR EITHER WIND OR EARTHQUAKE LOADING WHICHEVER IS GREATER. 4.13 LL SURFACES OF PRESSURE PARTS , AND NON-PRESSURE PARTS DIRECTLY WELDED TO THE PRESSURE SHELL OR OTHERWISE NON-REMOVABLE AND EXPOSED TO THE CONTAINED MDIAL SHALL HAVE EITHER THE SPECIFIED CORROSION ALLOWANCE ADDED, OR BE FABRICATED FROM CORROSION RESISTANCE MATERIAL 5 . EACH REINFORCEMENT PAD OR SEGMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A ¼ UNC “ TELL TALE” HOLE. 4.15 ABRICATED VESSELS AND HEAVY SECTIONS OF VESSELS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH SUITABLE LUGS OR EYE – RINGS TO FACILITATE HANDLING DURING TRANSPORT AND ERECTION. 4.16 AX . VELOCITY THROUGH ANY CROSS SECTION OF FILTER SUCH AS INLET AND OUTLET, INSIDE FILTER CASE, AND FILTER ELEMENT, ETC. SHALL NOT EXCEED 20 M/SEC. 4.17 THE FILTER SHALL BE DESIGNED SO THAT: 4.17.1 THE RATIO OF ELEMENT(S) OUTER SURFACE AREA TO ELEMENT BORE AREA SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 8 I.E. USING ELECTRODES OF A COMPOSITION AND QUALITY COMPOSIBLE WITH THE 6 VESSEL MATERIALS , IN IGS-M-PM-105(0)-1999 ACCORDANCE WITH ? “B” PART UW OF THE ASME CODE, SECTION VIII DIVISIONAL. 5.3 THE SUPPLIERS SHALL SPECIFY THE MAKE AND QUALITY ? ELECTRODES WHICH HE PROPOSES TO UTILISE IN FABRICATION. ALL WELDERS SHALL BE QUALIFIED UNDER SECTION IX ? ASME CODE , WORK INVOLVING WELDING SHALL NOT BE ? TO ANY OTHER CODES WITHOUT THE PRIOR APPROVAL OF PURCHASER. 5.4 WELDING BY AUTOMATIC OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC EQUIPMENT IS ?
