FRENCH PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP
SILIN FUND
Academic Year 2013-2014
2 scholarships of $270 each will be awarded from the Silin Fund to students who have
demonstrated academic excellence in, and significant commitment to, the study of French
during the academic year.
Eligibility requirements:
ü Enrollment in the French Program during the academic year 2013-2014.
ü Preference will be given to students who have declared majors or minors in
French.
ü Overall minimum GPA of 3.00.
ü Applicants must be full time students at the University of Houston.
Application process:
ü Submit a copy of a recent transcript (unofficial).
ü Submit a copy of the application form.
ü All completed applications must be turned in to the MCL office (613 AH) by
March 3, 2014, at 5 PM.
Selection process:
Faculty will review applications. Candidates will be notified by email. Awardees are
expected to attend the MCL Award Ceremony.
Advertisement of scholarships:
The French Program Scholarships will be advertised on the MCL website and French
Program webpage, instructors’ personal web pages and “Blackboard” sites.
