Mrs. K’s Class Weekly Newsletter—January 22, 2016 What We’re Learning Upcoming Dates We had so much fun learning about bears this week. February 10—Valentine’s Day celebrations. During circle time, we read the story Brown Bear, February 11—Early Release. No school for Little Leaders/Early Childhood students. the repetition of the story. We used picture supports February 12—Teacher Institute Day. NO SCHOOL. We also sang a song related to the book using our Brown Bear, What Do You See? The children enjoyed for the children to increase their participation, as well as the use of mid-tech assistive technology devices. SMARTboard. In the sensory area, the children explored oatmeal and miniature bears within the February 15—President’s Day. NO SCHOOL. sensory table. We also had a bear cave, made from a cardboard box. Inside of the cave were bears of different sizes, colors, and textures. The children made hand-print bears in the art center and utilized A Look Ahead dot markers to color a bear picture. During arrival table activity, the children made paper plate bears and polar bears! We had a very busy week! We will continue our bear theme next week. During circle time, we will read We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
