PRAYER FOR THE END OF SCHOOL YEAR
O God of all beginnings and endings,
we praise and thank You for the gift of this school year.
It has been a time filled with grace and blessings, with challenges and joys,
and with opportunities to grow, play, and learn
about ourselves, about each other, and about our world.
All have come forth lovingly from Your gracious hand.
We thank You for our parents, teachers, friends, and priests from whom we learn.
Give us the rest and refreshment we need this summer.
Let our efforts of this past year bear fruit as we build on all we have learned.
Bring our plans to a joyful conclusion, and bless us, according to Your will,
with the fulfillment of our summer hopes and dreams.
Watch over us in the weeks of rest and play ahead,
And guide us each day as You have done this past year.
Help us return to school with a new spirit and a new energy.
May we continue to grow in faith, wisdom, knowledge and grace all the days of our lives.

YEAR-END MESSAGE FROM
MISSISSAUGA WARD 7
CATHOLIC SCHOOL TRUSTEE,
BRUNO IANNICCA
Dear Parents & Guardians:
As I visit schools, attending plays,
talent shows, reading to classes,
as well as attending
Parent
Council meetings, the most
common comment I hear is, “
Where
has
the
year
gone?” And, I can’t argue with
that. It’s my sentiment as well.
As we get closer to the end of the 2014-15 school year, I
want to thank you for choosing a Catholic Education for
your most prized possession, your children. Our Catholic
school system’s foundational pillars of Home, School and
Church are more than a philosophical concept; they are
truly the basis of our success, year in and year out. This
year, we can point to our graduation rates, which are
among the highest in the province, as well as our
consistently high and upward trending EQAO scores,
among the indicators of this success.
Over the past year, I am sure that you have seen the
growth of your children, spiritually, physically and
intellectually, as they continue their journey to becoming
the young women or young men that you want them to
be.
I wish all of you a safe and happy summer. For those
whose children are graduating, I trust that you will
continue to see the value in the Catholic education that
your child has received and that you will continue to be a
Catholic school supporter. For those whose children
continuing their education in Dufferin-Peel schools, I look
forward to seeing you in September.
May the Lord continue to bless you and watch over you
and your family.
Sincerely,
B. Iannicca

Finally, as Ms. K. Kovacs departs St. Timothy School, we bid her a fond farewell as we express our gratitude and

continuing the spirit of cooperation, excellence in education, and joy in celebration that is the hallmark and motto of
our school.
As the Class of 2015 graduates this month, the sadness in saying goodbye is always mixed with a sincere sense of hope

journeys, we know that the future is bright because of these talented and caring individuals who are setting out to
make a difference in the world. May God bless you always.
For all our families who are moving and will also leave us at the end of June, we pray that all our parting students

INTERMEDIATE BOYS’ BASKETBALL
INTERMEDIATE GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
What a great season! The boys played with skill and
determination throughout their season. Even though we did
not advance (by only the smallest of margins), both coaches
felt that this team was the most talented Intermediate Boys’
Team in at least recent memory. In fact, other coaches and
even some referees commented on this. Some points of pride
include boys coming very early to practice on their own, and
also beating an over confident opponent by one point during
the final moments of a game. Great job, boys! Congratulations
to the following team members:
The Girls’ Team had so much talent, but even more
heart. They won their division in pool play, and then
went on to win our Family of Schools Tournament.
There are too many exciting moments to mention,
but one was definitely beating a rival school by 1
point to advance to the championship game. There,
the girls dominated their opponent to be awarded
First Place medals. We did advance to the Board tournament,
and despite many challenges, the girls powered through to
reach the semi-finals. They showed grit, determination, and a
“Never Give Up” attitude, only falling short by a small margin.
Both coaches felt that this team achieved more than any other
basketball team in Titan History – oh, so close! The team will
be remembered for their incredible success, determination,
and genuine teamwork, especially how they cheered for each
other no matter what. The coaches are very proud of all the
girls. Congratulations to the following team members:

INTERMEDIATE GIRLS’ SOCCER
The intermediate Girls’ Soccer Team participated in the Peel
Cup Invitational tournament on May 29th. They played four
games resulting in close scores which earned them an
opportunity to play for a spot in the quarter finals. Despite the
heat, the girls won this game and advanced to the semi- finals.
In the semi-final game, their fighting spirit was not enough to
gain a chance to play for the Cup as they were defeated by one
goal to St. Angela Merici. Bravo to our Titan girls for their team
spirit and determination. Congratulations to team members:

P.S. A round of applause to our
two novice goal-keepers, Emma

determination and “never say

skills as the day progressed, with
every ball saved as they made
several spectacular saves to keep
our team in the game.
We appreciate the coaching
efforts of Madame M. Krampert!
We appreciate the dedication and commitment of the coaches,
Mr. A. D’Souza and Ms. J. Dzugan !
JUNIOR GIRLS’ SOCCER
th
On May 20 , the Junior Girls’ Soccer Team participated in the
Peel Cup Invitational tournament. It was a very cold and windy
day and despite the weather, our very young team played four
energetic games with a positive attitude and lots of team spirit
against teams that were more experienced. Although they did
not make it to the playoff rounds, they are looking forward to
participating again next year. The team members were:
Grade 4: Alexia A., Sofia V.
Grade 6: Natalia D.
Grade 5: Simone B., Kaitlyn C.R., Mya M., Grace P., Olivia R.,
Emily S., Olivia V.
Thanks again to coach Madame M. Krampert!
JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE BOYS’ SOCCER
Throughout the months of May and June, students have and
will be participating in a Board and/or Family Invitational The
Junior Boys’ Soccer Teams represented St. Timothy well in
their tournament, and we wish the Intermediate Teams good
luck in their upcoming games. Thank you to coaches Ms. M.

SCHOOL MUSICAL
What a wonderful and creative musical
was presented by our students last
month as the community enjoyed the

cast and stage crew were amazing and showed their talent
“pure imagination”! Special thanks to Ms. E. Hyde (Director),
Ms. A. Feather (Music

and parents who assisted and supported this year’s
production. It was worthy of the Golden Tickets!
CUPCAKES FOR
SHARELIFE
With the success of our Cupcake Fundraiser last month, we
are proud to announce that we have raised $1360 for
ShareLife!!! Thank you to the organizers, Ms. S. Sadowski
and Ms. M. Zivkovic, who would also like to thank the staff
and students of St. Timothy School for their time and efforts
in helping us to exceed our fundraising goal of $1000.
Special thanks go out to the Intermediate staff and students
for their support in the kitchen as chief bakers and clean-up
crews. Hats off to Ms. C. DiIorio for her tireless efforts as
guest “Head Pastry Chef” in the kitchen this year. We would
not have made it without you! Madeline J. and Sierra A. in
Grade 7 beautifully frosted and decorated all the cupcakes
and we thank them for being so nice with the icing. Thank
you also to Ms. Sadowski’s Grade 4 students for their time
and efforts in creating and presenting the media advertising
as well as for their excellent customer service and sales skills
at our “Cupcake Shop.”
Many thanks go out to our sponsors, Red Path Sugar,
MichaelAngelo’s, In2ition Realty, Red Rose Flour, the Nixon
Family, and our friends, the “miracle makers” at the Apple
Market. Your very generous donations helped us to make
an amazing 100% profit at our sale. Thank you to staff and
students for your help in the kitchen, and most importantly
for supporting our sale and helping us to once again sell out
of cupcakes. Many people who are helped by ShareLife
agencies will benefit from your generosity!
COLLECTION OF POP TABS / MILK BAGS
Please continue to save your milk bags for the Milk
Bag Mattress initiative. Also, save your pop tabs
which are recycled and used to make wheelchairs.
Thank you for all your efforts and continue to save
these items over the summer months and bring
them back to the school in September.
Congratulations to students and staff for
their participation in the Walk and Roll
Week. There was a noticeable decrease in
traffic in our parking lot. We saw many
people biking, walking, and riding their skateboards and
scooters. Many students will be entered in a draw for
prizes if they fill in their walk/roll to school yellow
cards. Please remember to always wear the appropriate
safety gear when riding. Let's continue to be active, St.
Timothy's!
We would like to thank some people for their help this year
… Thank you to Diane Stewart, our Peel Public Health
Nurse. You are truly passionate about healthy living. Diane
has been a valuable team member of the Health Action
Team. She has given the team many ideas and shared so
many of her resources. We thank her for regularly
attending our meetings and for always being so
encouraging and enthusiastic!
Thank you to Matt Raponi from Pedalheads™ for kicking off
our Walk and Roll Week. The students from FDK to Grade 3
learned about the importance of wearing helmets when
riding bikes, scooters, and skateboards. They also learned
how to properly wear their helmets. Thanks, Matt! Be sure
to check out www.pedalheads.com for learn-to-ride bike
camps for the summer.
Last, but certainly not least, the members of the Health
Action Team must be thanked for their enthusiasm and
dedication. You were leaders in so many great health
initiatives at our school. Be proud of yourselves!
Special mention and thanks to Ms. N. Zabukovec for her
“active” leadership on many of the Health Action Team
initiatives! We look forward to continued particip’action’!

GRADUATION 2015
Congratulations to our Grade 8 students on the
occasion of their graduation from elementary
school. This is a momentous accomplishment
that marks the start of a new and exciting time in their lives,
but also the ending of what we hope was a successful, joyful,
and enriching journey. We ask all members of our St. Timothy
community to say an extra prayer for our Class of 2015.
Loving Creator, please bless these graduates,
and share with them Your wisdom and strength.
Please continue to light their way, to guide and protect
them as they go forth from St. Timothy School.
Help them to remember that whatever they do,
whether in thought, word or deed, they must take action
in the name of the Lord Jesus, always giving thanks to God.
+ Amen.
We are privileged to have had the opportunity to educate
these future leaders. Congratulations from the staff and
students of St. Timothy Catholic School.
Grade 8 students please note that you are still expected to
attend school on the last two days after the Graduation
ceremony on Wednesday, June 24th. Otherwise, parents must
notify the school and you will be marked absent.
RETURN OF SCHOOL MATERIALS / UNIFORMS
School textbooks, resources, library items, and team uniforms
are school property and are “loaned” to students annually. The
expectation is that these items will be returned at the end of
the year. Please remind your child(ren) to “search” their home
for any school items and return them as soon as possible.
Again, students and/or parents may be held responsible for
lost or damaged materials. Report cards may be withheld at
the office until the return or restitution of loaned materials.
Thank you for your help and cooperation in this regard. Also,
please remember to check the Lost and Found for any items
that may belong to your child(ren).
CLASS PLACEMENTS 2015-2016
Class lists for the year 2015-2016 are extremely TENTATIVE.
We have spent a great deal of time organizing the class lists to
ensure the best possible placement for your child and will
continue to adjust them as the need arises. All our class
placements will remain tentative until September enrollment is
finalized. Due to a number of factors which impact enrolments
including Ministry of Education Primary Class Size Cap, parents
are reminded that combined classes are a reality when
planning for classes. Please note that there is a scheduled
school re-organization Professional Activity Day on September
18th, 2015. There will be no classes for students on that day.
If re-organization of classes is necessary, parents of students
affected will be contacted prior to that date. Refer to the
attached 2015-2016 Board calendar for all other P.A. Days.
Please note that September 8th is the first day of school for all
students in SK to Grade 8. Please review the following opening
day procedures noted below.
● Junior Kindergarten children do not attend school as a class
until the Friday of the first week of school. Parents will be
contacted by their child’s teacher during the summer
regarding the entry program for JK students.
● All students entering Senior Kindergarten will assemble in
the Kindergarten area where they will be greeted by their
teacher. Parents please say goodbyes prior to the door as
bringing your child into the school only makes the transition
from parent to teacher all the more difficult for those children
who are somewhat nervous on the first day.
● Grades 1-8 students are to assemble in the school yard.
Grade Level signs will be posted along the windows in the
paved area of the schoolyard. Please help your child to line up
in front of the signs. The teachers will meet them there and
call out student names and bring them to class. The teachers
will have class lists and support staff will also be assisting
students to find their classroom teachers.
● PLASP students will be walked out by their PLASP teachers
and placed in the Grade Level lines.
● If your child is a bus student and is Grades 1-8, please
remind them to go to the back of the school and line up in
front of the Grade Level sign. However, teachers will also be
assisting bus students.
● All SK bus students will be walked to the Kindergarten area
from the bus. However, please remind your kindergarten
child they will be going to the Kindergarten area when they
arrive at school.
●




In the event of inclement weather:
JK/SK students will meet in their classrooms
Grades 1 to 4 students will assemble in the gym
Grades 4 to 6 students will assemble in the library upstairs
Grades 7 & 8 students will assemble upstairs in the
Intermediate hallway
BUS TRANSPORTATION
In planning for your child’s transportation needs in September,
parents are responsible for making arrangement for their children’s
transportation unless they are eligible for bus transportation. In
October, when it has been established that there is available space
on the bus, students who do not meet eligibility requirement may
apply for a seat in accordance with the “Courtesy Seat Policy.” If you
wish to be considered for an empty seat, please complete the
request form (available from the Office in September) stating the
name of your child, grade and address. Seats will be awarded by
considering health priority, siblings and grade level (e.g. younger
students will receive preference). If you were eligible for an empty
seat this year, this does NOT guarantee you a spot this coming
September. You will need to reapply. Refer to attached letter from
STOPR.

@ ST. PAUL SECONDARY SCHOOL
August 27, 28, 31 & Sept. 1
As part of successful transition planning, the ‘Get Ready for
Secondary’ Summer Program is one of the foremost
innovations within Dufferin-Peel. This week long program
blends Literacy and Numeracy focused instruction with
‘High School “Readiness’ Activities designed to welcome
and prepare the student for their secondary school
experience. The ultimate goal of the program is to ease
the Grade 8-to-9 transition for students and parents alike
as their confidence, comfort level, and awareness of
secondary programs is significantly amplified before they
enter High School. The program includes:
Preparation in:
