Welcome Back to School!
For those of you who I did not meet on the “Meet the Teacher” day, my name is Michelle
Wheeland and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I have enjoyed getting to
know you child this week as well as sharing a few things about me.
A little bit about me: I have been a teacher for over eighteen years and I truly enjoy
teaching in Lake Zurich. I grew up in Barrington, but I also have a connection to Lake
Zurich. My very first job when I was in high school was at the Jewel in Lake Zurich. I
worked there for many years and still like shopping there.
I now live in Crystal Lake with my husband, our twelve year old twin boys, Reilly and
Jackson, and our ten year old son, Connor. We also have two dogs, Marley and Millie.
Marley is a lot like the dog in book, Marley and Me, but we love him anyway. We recently
adopted our second dog, Millie from a shelter. We feel so lucky that she chose us to be her
family.
Just a Few Important Facts Until Parent Night:
Parent Night is next Tuesday, September 1st at 6:30
Newsletters will be posted on my webpage every two weeks
Students may bring a healthy snack and a water bottle each day
Starting Monday night, please check and sign your child’s assignment book each night
Please DO NOT empty the contents of your child’s expandable folder…The kids told me to
write that.  I will explain on Tuesday.
Next Tuesday is Parent Night. I will be sharing in detail our classroom procedures,
policies, expectations, core subject information, and so much more. I hope to see you there!
