What a fantastic first week of fifth grade! Thank you for your support! Here are a few things to think
about this weekend.
Friday, August 28, 2015 - TONIGHT! Spencer Loomis Mustang Pride - Back to School Picnic 4:30-7:00 pm
Tuesday, September 1 – Curriculum Night


6:15-:630 – Principal’s Welcome in the Cafetorium
6:30 – Come to classroom 217
Wednesday, September 2 – Museum Day
For Museum Day, students are invited to bring in a collection of items to set up a museum on
their desks. Fifth grade students are encouraged to bring in and be able to talk about the items that
they bring with other students throughout the whole fifth grade. This is an opportunity for us to get to
know your children, and for kids to get to know each other a little better.
I FORGOT to talk about this with the class today! We will have a BIG class discussion about
Museum Day on Monday, but I thought you might want to get a start on it this weekend.
SEPTEMBER 1-30 - National Library Card Sign-Up Month –
Fifth grade students are encourage to have a use a library card of their own. Please help your
child obtain a library card from the ELA Area Library. When students bring their cards in to show me,
they will earn a Read for the Cup Challenge point, and another prize.
