Literacy
This Wednesday, we have teachers from another
school district stopping in to watch our Daily 5
reading class in action! After our first week of full
Daily 5 implementation, I am so excited to say that
the children are doing wonderfully! I can really see
a love of book beginning to develop among many of
our students, and I will continue to foster that as
much as possible!  We are currently learning
about character and setting. Please reinforce with
your child that characters can be both people and
animals and that the setting is both where the story

students are really struggling with the “when”
aspect.

Science
This week we are wrapping up our unit on teeth.
The students will be learning about the job of a
dentist and a dental hygienist. We will also
focus on fillings and x-rays. On Thursday, we
will review our content and prepare for our
assessment on Friday.
High Attendance Day
Once again, thank you so much for always
supporting what we do here at school! The
students were very excited to learn that not
only did our homeroom have 100% perfect
attendance, but the entire 2nd grade also had
100% perfect attendance! Way to soar, Eagles!

running behind on their
production and they don’t
expect to get our shirts to us
until the beginning of October.
