Schroders enhances LDI and Strategic
Solutions teams with significant hires

Schroders is pleased to announce the appointment of four new senior positions within its LDI and UK
Strategic Solutions teams. This follows significant growth in both the traditional LDI, and Flight Path
solution areas of the business.
Nicolaas Marais, Head of Multi-Asset Investments and Portfolio Solutions, comments:

investment management expertise and thought leadership."
Mike Hodgson, Head of Structuring (photography available)
Mike joins from The Royal Bank of Scotland NV (previously ABN AMRO Bank N.V) where he had
been responsible for Fund Derivatives Trading and Structuring. Previously, Mike was responsible for
Interest Rate Derivatives Trading and was Global Head of Structured Products and Equity Derivatives
at J. Henry Schroder & Co. prior to it being sold to Citigroup in 2000. Following the sale, Mike became
Citigroup’s European Head of New Products, Fixed Income. During Mike’s career, spanning some 24
years, he has acquired experience in all assets classes, and this new role at Schroders brings these
all together. PhD in Physics, Cambridge University, & BSc (Hons) in Physics, Imperial College,
London.
Kathleen Broekhof, LDI Solutions Manager, LDI (photography available)
Kathleen was previously a Director in the institutional team at HSBC Global Asset Management where
she was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with UK corporate pension
schemes. During her time at HSBC she worked within the LDI team developing and implementing the
LDI product for UK pension schemes. Kathleen’s investment career began in 1998 when she joined
TD Securities in London and held various roles starting in Risk Management and eventually as Vice

UK Strategic Solutions
Dianne Ramsay
Dianne Ramsay will be joining the UK Strategic Solutions Team next month, from the Financial
Strategy Group (FSG) at Mercer where she was a senior consultant. She brings with her over 13
years of consultancy experience and specialism in liability focused strategies for both Trustee and
Corporate clients. Prior to the set up of Mercer's FSG in 2007, Dianne was an investment consultant
at Mercer, providing a full range of consulting services to Trustee clients. She began her career at
Towers Perrin as an Actuarial Analyst. Dianne is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder
and has a MSci (Physics) from the University of Glasgow.
Alistair Jones, (photography available)
Alistair joins a team of 6 strategic solutions specialists, responsible for the provision of strategic and
liability led input to clients. Prior to joining Schroders Alistair worked at Aon Hewitt for over 5 years as
an Investment Consultant. There his main responsibilities were in the provision of client advice in the
areas of investment strategy reviews and liability driven investment. Alistair also has experience of
managing client relationships and researching fund managers. Prior to Aon Hewitt he worked at
Watson Wyatt for five years in London. Member of the UK CFA and the Institute of Actuaries
BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Durham University.

Today’s announcement follows the appointment of Nicolaas Marais, who joins Schroders this month
as Head of Multi-Asset Investments and Portfolio Solutions. Nico joins from BlackRock’s Multi-Asset
Client Solutions Group where he was Global Head of Active Portfolio Management. He has become a
member of Schroders’ Group Management Committee, reporting to Michael Dobson, Chief Executive.
