This year course selection
was done through
myBlueprint.ca.
 Students are encouraged to
use the program for not only
selecting courses, but also
post-secondary planning.
 Collection of course selection
forms and $65 fee took place
the first week of January.
 Students will be able to make
course changes for 20142015 in early March and
again in late April.
On-line University
applications were due
January 15th. On-line
college applications are due
February 1st.
 The PATH portfolio open
house took place
January 10th. Students
who have been
working with junior
classes were able to
showcase their work.
 There is one week for
course changes for
senior students in
semester 2. Junior
students can make level
changes in the first 2
weeks.
 The 2nd annual Cookies
and Cram session took
place in the library the
week before exams.
 The group is a way for
grade 9 students to kickstart their exam prep in a
relaxed, comfortable
setting while enjoying

cookies and hot chocolate.
 Senior students, along with
teacher supervisors, acted as
tutors and guides.
 Over 220 grade 9 and 10 students
participated in the two day event.
 Semester 1 report cards will be
distributed on February 5th.
PIP
 The PIP program created
beautiful Christmas cards that
were sold in December.
Money raised will help fund
community integration trips, such
as to the Ripley’s Aquarium.

MATH
 Students headed to downtown
Toronto in January to donate items to
those in need.
 The EQAO test was written by all grade
9 students on Jan 14th and 16th. To
alleviate stress, the test will be counted
MODERNS
 Students in the grade 11 French
classes had a chance to go to Le Papillion
restaurant on Front street in Toronto.
 The entire staff spoke French to the
students, and for some it was the first
time they ever tasted French cuisine.
ENGLISH
 The grade 10 Literacy Test will take
place on March 27th.
 All grade 10 English classes have been
working with Literacy practice tests to
help prepare students. Those in other
towards the math CPT evaluation for all
grade 9s.
SOCIAL SCIENCES
 On December 16th the Civics classes went
to Queen’s Park to learn how our
Provincial government works.
 On November 25th, Aboriginal
representatives from the Peel Aboriginal
Network (PAN), met with the grade 9
Geography classes and taught students
about Aboriginal customs and their
experiences.
VISUAL ARTS
 Paintings by grade 11 art students are
hanging at Leisure World in Streetsville.
 Grade 9 and 10 art students are creating a
mural celebrating inclusion and belonging for
our PIP students.
 Grade 12 art students have been busy
preparing portfolios for college and university
interviews.
 The grade 12 Drama students prepared and
performed original One Act plays at the 10th
annual Night of Original Works.
 Nearly 75 students auditioned for this year’s
original musical.
 The musical will be performed in the spring,
showcasing the MANY talented actors,
singers and dancers at St. Joseph’s.

 The Green Team- the Grade 12
Environment and Resource classes
have registered for the Classroom
Energy Diet Challenge.
 The initiative is a competition among
Canadian classes from Kindergarten to
grade 12.
 Classes have a chance to win $10 000
for a project that decreases their
school’s carbon footprint.
 To be eligible, classes must complete
the 15-point “Green Your School
Challenge” then submit an application
to Canadian Geographic.
 The Ski and Snowboard Club, the largest
