4th Grade Newsletter August 10-14 Reading- This week, students will describe the characters and setting of a story using details from the text to support their descriptions. We will also Discuss and Upcoming Events practice procedures for daily 5 Rotations. September 7- No School (Labor Day) Math-This week, students will be learning October 5-9- Fall Break to use place value in order to write numbers in standard form, word form, and expanded form. Students will practice expectations and procedures for math station rotations as well. A post-test over place value of whole numbers will be given on Friday. Students will also practice using the "Making Tens" strategy to solve addition problems during our daily Number Talk time. Reminders Please make sure to return all back to school forms as soon as possible. Writing- This week in writing we will begin writing our first informational writing piece. Sign up for REMIND texting to keep Science-Students will begin learning informed with what is going on in class and about waves this week. Students will be important reminders. Please let us know if expected to describe properties of waves you need any extra sign up forms. and develop a model to demonstrate understanding.
