November 3 , 2013 - THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

November 3rd, 2013 - THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Today’s readings focus on God’s mercy and how we respond to it. The first reading, from the Book of Wisdom, proclaims God’s
love for all. In the second reading Paul urges us to conduct ourselves in such a way as to be worthy of God’s call. The Gospel, tells
us that because of his short stature Zaccheus climbed a tree in order to be able to see Jesus. How much trouble are we willing to go
through in our lives to see Jesus? Zaccheus responded generously and concretely to God’s call by turning his life around. What
concrete demands does discipleship make on our lives? How have we responded?
