Open our hearts so that we may hear your voice and grant us the courage to follow your will. Amen. God of love, during this season, we rejoice in the healing power of your mercy. Help us to let go of the things that paralyze us and by your mercy, heal the wounds of our hearts. Guide us in ways that free us to be the joyful people we are called to be. Enlighten us with your spirit so that we may see the signs before us today. Give us hearts of compassion to see the face of Christ in the refugee, the homeless person and the suffering family member. Give us wisdom to make pathways straight and rough roads smooth. May we welcome the Christ child with love and meet others with mercy that welcomes. Help us to listen to the Word of God more intently so that we may bring the Good News of Salvation to all we meet. And may we do so with patience, prayer and love. We make this prayer in the name of Jesus, our hope and our home.
