Minutes The 18th meeting of the 8th Senate of the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University was called to order at 5:00 p.m. on February 22, 2010 with the Speaker of the Senate in the chair. There were 20 of 30 senators present. Absent were Senators Bianca Brown, Logan Horrall, Kaylee Egerer, Sunetris Fluellen, Atlee Gafford, Allan Huntsman, Billy Stephens, Robert Onyejiaka, Dave Vickery, and Kyle Wright. The minutes were read and approved. Daniel Shaw- A large reason why I left the senate is because I really didn’t have the time. But now I’m just trying to correct the problems I had with it. Dave Vickery- I like this, I think we should send Big Red wherever he wants to go. We need to spend money because we don’t get it back. We have 8 senate meetings left to spend $10,000. Emily Woosely- yes There was a technical question by Danielle Thurman: how many people actually go to the baseball games? Emily Woosely: they’re expecting 5-7,000 fans. There was a friendly amendment to add general senate funding to the therefore clause. There was a point of information by Kevin Smiley- when you write a bill, the therefore clause is the part that actually matters. The vote passed with one (1) opposed.
