Officer reports
President Billy Stephens
Elections will be March 27-28 and the applications will be available online around 7:00 tonight.
March 2 is the deadline to turn in your application which is the day before spring break. You
may have a two day grace period. Match 25 is the SGA sponsored baseball game and we are
hoping to make it Military Appreciation day. The New SGA office will be in 310 after spring
break. I have been talking with Dr. Ardrey about the debate watch and sending students to the
DNC and RNC. I am also talking about course shopping evaluations with Provost Emsilie and
new professor evaluations for next year. JD and Kevin couldn’t be here so they won't be up but
Jane wood will be back. The column on the budget report that says “spent” should say “budget”
and the rest should be moved over but total remaining is right.
Katie Stillwell went over the remaining amounts left in each category.
President Stephens: CAB has not taken out the money we gave them for the concert which is
why the discretionary is so high. For the exec discretionary the money will be spent on the
banquet and a new printer for the new office. Remember, the budget does not roll over.
Senator Patel motioned to approve the budget. Approved.
Executive Vice President Kendrick Bryan
Our big purchases left are a printer for up here and the banquet in May. I had a meeting with
Roxanne Spenser from the ERC about test prep books. We are looking into better brands of
books. They have run into a licensing situation with the iPads, we did our part and now they are
working out theirs. I met with Lisa cook about apartments and renovations on campus, Poland
will be getting new windows. Check out the apartments online.
Administrative Vice President Devon Hilderbrandt
Thanks for approving budget. Org aid will be meeting on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-5,
please join us if you need a committee meeting. Apply now before we run out of money.

Unfinished Business
Resolution 2-12-S: Resolution to Support an Uncensored and Economically Free Internet
Senator Shaw moved to have the resolution constructively read. Seconded and passed.
Senator Shaw: I know SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA have had a lot of controversy and have been
dropped but this is a broad resolution. The Internet is the greatest achievement in modern
history. It gives power to the common people with things such as Facebook, YouTube, twitter.
They want to punish people who had nothing to do with copyright infringement. The way these
things are being proposed will not be helpful.
Senator Crowley: In the last whereas you never specify the changes of the bills. This seems too
broad. I want to see specific changes they are trying to make.
Senator Shaw: I did that so it covers a broad range of content. This is about consequences of
these bills. We are preserving what's already there not going after specific policies.
Senator Garland: Friendly amendment, a space between the whereas clauses.
Passed unanimously.
Bill 2-12-S: Funding fro the 2012 Locks of Love Benefit Event
Senator Asbery moved to have the bill constructively read. Passed.
Senator Broderick: This is pretty straight forward; a fellow student is doing this fundraiser. If you
have any questions about where the money is going please let me know. She is taking out ads
in local papers and has to rent a tent from cab which is $250.
Kendrick Bryan: Please add Stephanie Scott and Susan to the contacts.
Speaker Egerer: If you have a breakdown of budget please add that to a whereas clause.
Passed.
New Business
Bill 3-12-S: Transcript Voucher Pilot Program
Bill 4-12-S: Study Away Scholarships
