As part of the Flagship 2020 initiative, President Loh charged a work group with updating the University's Strategic Plan. With input from the campus community, the work group is drafting a document that will highlight the major accomplishments among the goals set forth in the 2008 plan, will assess our current strengths and challenges, will restate and refine our vision and mission, and will identify the new opportunities in education, research, and innovation in our changing environment.
The update process began with a series of community vision sessions last March, led by the Center for Leadership and Organizational Change (CLOC). Over 245 people engaged in these lively and interactive conversations. Several key stakeholder groups were also surveyed. In an effort to reach even more campus constituents and augment the data obtained from these sessions, we invite you to respond to a brief survey that captures the questions asked at these community vision sessions. There are just five questions, covering four broad aspirational areas.
The survey, which will be available through September 30th, can be found at https://www.provost.umd.edu/sp_survey. Your specific answers will not be shared publicly, except in aggregate by constituency, but your collective feedback will help inform our work to craft a clear and compelling road map to, as expressed by Dr. Loh, "become a top 10 flagship university, 'equal to the best in the nation.'" As a member of the campus community, your voice is essential. Thank you in advance for your participation.
