Dismissal of all grade levels is 3:30 p.m. (students will be dismissed through the doors to the school yard. Only bus students should be exiting through the front doors.) The door will then unlock so that you may gain entry. As posted on the door, use caution as the door opens automatically under its’ own power. A reminder to always stop in at the office to sign out your child or to receive a visitor’s pass if visiting another area of the school. Thank you for your cooperation. Reminders and Resources: Cold and Flu Season As cold and flu season approaches, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board continues to be vigilant in ensuring that our schools are clean and that our school communities are educated regarding good hand hygiene and cough etiquette. These practices are promoted on an ongoing basis, but as the prevalence of colds and flu increases, our board increases the cleaning of contact surfaces, as well as reminds schools to review cold and flu prevention with students and staff. Many resources are utilized from our regional health units. A reminder, as well, that communicable diseases can be contracted in public places throughout the year. For example, cold-related viruses, such as Enterovirus, are transferred from person to person through hand contact. Cold and flu viruses typically peak from December through February, but can start as early as October. Flu Clinics Also available on the Peel Health website, are the schedules of local Flu Clinics. For more information, visit the health unit website: Peel Health website: http://www.peelregion.ca/health Halloween Dance (Friday, Oct. 30) Information sent home last week with reference to Halloween as well as the Halloween Dance on Friday, Oct. 30. All classes will be involved. (reminder that no food/candy is to be brought in for sharing with other students) PEDICULOSIS: Although it is early in the school year, it is important to bring to your attention the problem of head lice which generally occurs at some time in most schools. Head lice are parasites which have been common among human beings for centuries. They are not connected in any way with dirt or neglect. If a case is found in our school, we shall inform parents of the students in that classroom. We ask that you also check your own children regularly. If you find them to be infested, please notify the office.
