Minutes:
Minutes for the meeting held on February 19th, 2013 were approved by L. Figliola. M. Palache upheld
the approval.
Principal’s Report:
1. Cops for Cancer:
- all divisions played dodge ball with a team of police officers
- as a school, we raised $710
- St. Gregory School poster to be on display April 27th at Erin Mills Town Centre
2. ShareLife: - participation has been good for spirit/ fruit and vegetable days
3. Junior Science Olympics
4. I am Aboriginal presentation with grades 6,7,8
5. Diversity Conference grade 7
6. Intermediate Math Mania
7. Lockdown Practice with Constable Gorrill went very well. She was impressed!
8. Co-op students from St. Marcellinus SS – one in gr. 1 and gr. 2 and one in gr. 2/3
9. Student teacher in grade 6 and grade 4/5
10. Catholic Education Week: May 5 – 10
11. Spring Photos
12. Constable Holly Faulkner has completed presentations in all classrooms on various themes ranging
from community helpers to internet
13. Best Start/University of Toronto: data collection on primary students was completed

16. Sharing of Information with St. Marcellinus SS
17. Library switch over – to go public
18. Welcome back to Mrs. Verzini. Thank you to Mr. Belli for his service!
19. The school purchased one SMART board and received another SMART board through the Special
Education Department.

J. Greenman & A. Neglia attended the CCCSC marketplace on Saturday, April 13th
Catholic School Council will be providing ‘ice dogs’ to gr 8 students after confirmation
Looked at box of birthday cards to consider for future fundraiser
Mabel’s labels fundraiser did not go very well
Consider cookie dough fundraiser for next year
Letter to determine interest in Mr. Sub lunches went out and we got a huge response. Will send
out Mr. Sub letter soon for lunch orders.
Committees:
Choc fundraiser - $9000 raised
 Remaining chocolate has been picked up
PRO grant
 Cheryl Pounder is booked, as well as Zumba, North Msg club, Classical Sports
 D.Lockett is unable to lead sessions as she will be away. Would need to pay one of her
instructors.
 J. Greenman is looking into YMCA, and another yoga studio
 Consider PC blue menu dieticians and library
 L. Figliola is looking into girl guides
 S. West will do page on website
 9:30-10 is registration, 10-11 is speaker and 11-1 is sessions
 Orange juice will be served. Consider apple juice as well. Perhaps juice boxes. Get highschool
students to help (volunteer hrs will be given) e.g. to greet, serve muffins, etc. L. Figliola will ask
some highschool students to come.
 Permit needs to be applied for.
 Consider selling healthy snacks frozen yoghurt (snackcentre.com), cheese strings
(snackcentre.com), fruit between 11 – 1

quote. Also need to do inventory of fans in school.
New business:
 Ask families to donate earth soil, perennials, etc. Invite families to come out and garden.
Consider this for the fall.
 BBQ - June 11th – consider Mr. Begin for catering of BBQ. Heritage Dental has offered to
sponsor us, perhaps pay for DJ at BBQ. Sell pop and water.
 Consider giving frozen yoghurt snacks instead of cupcakes for first communion
