Debate #1 – Does White Skin Privilege Still Exist in American Society?
Questions to Consider –
 What does “privilege” really mean? You, of course, must be able to address this question before considering the larger one.


Obviously, history tells us that white skin privilege was common practice in American society. Does it still exist today, however?


For those of you who claim that white privilege is still a problem, in what ways does the privilege affect the daily lives of both white and black persons?


What needs to be done in order to address the issue of white skin privilege? If you say that it does exist, offer ideas. If you say that it does not exist, explain what we can do to eliminate the discussion about it.


Will we, as a nation, ever be able to look past the issue of race/privilege/etc. in society?
Clearly, the election and re-election of Barack Obama has not proved to be the unifying force that many had once hoped—Ferguson, Treyvon Martin, etc.



