AQUINAS ALUMNI AWARD
• Student who best exemplifies a commitment to hard work and a desire to succeed
by overcoming personal hardships or handicap
• Must maintain a 60 % minimum average
2.
ARCHBISHOP ANTHONY MEAGHER AWARD
• Is active in their school and parish community
• Models Christian leadership within their school
• Is a positive influence on their peers

CANADIAN FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN AWARD
A female student who has achieved academic excellence
A female student who has participated fully in a variety of student activities
A student who is not receiving any other award
A student who is entering a degree granting course in a Canadian university
CATHOLIC STUDENT AWARD
 A student who is involved in school or community activities, and conduct which
typifies the objectives of the Catholic school
 Students who are involved in student council, mission drives, leadership in social
concerns should apply for the award
 Student should be involved in projects that enhance the identity of the Catholic
school in the local community, volunteer work in the community, local hospitals,
and parishes, with youth corps, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities; on
political or social issues, or with other projects of a similar kind.

BRIAN J. DUNN AWARD
A graduating student who demonstrates Christian values, sincerity, humility,
positive attitude, and leadership in extracurricular activities
Student who is a role model, calm and modest
Student who listens attentively, offers sounds words of advice and acts in a selfless
manner
CHRIS MORTON MEMORIAL COLLEGE AWARD
A college applicant who exemplifies Chris’ qualities of perseverance and
dedication to task
A college level student with a 70 % minimum average
CITIZENSHIP AWARD
• A student who has unselfishly involved herself or himself in promoting and
working for the local, national, or international organization
• A student also maintaining a “good academic average” of 65 % minimum

EDWARD KING MEMORIAL AWARD
Student who, in their graduating year, best exemplifies the spirit and determination
to strive for excellence
Not necessarily top academic marks
Student who exemplifies a combination of academic excellence with an 80 %
minimum average and extracurricular involvement in at least 1 team or club or
event in their graduating year
Good Christian role model for other student
FATHER JIM TOBIN BURSARY
A practicing Catholic (attends church regularly)
Good Catholic role model for other students

FATHER OSCAR ROMERO AWARD
• A graduating student committed to social justice, community involvement as well
as challenging the status quo for improvement of human conditions

JOAN GRIFFITHS ST. ANTHONY’S CWL AWARD
• A female student that exemplifies Catholic values and community involvement
within St. Thomas Aquinas — (religious focus)
12.
LEADERSHIP THROUGH INVOLVEMENT AWARD
• One female and one male student who demonstrates a high degree of leadership
and involvement in the school and community during the school year
13.
LORNE HOWCROFT AWARD
• Student who has demonstrated leadership in the areas of peace making and social
justice within the community
14.
LT. GOVERNOR’S COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER AWARD
• Graduating student who has demonstrated exemplary community involvement
beyond 40 hours over four years of secondary school
15.
MC CARTHY’S SCHOLARSHIP
Graduating college level student, male or female, who is involved with the
school and community and is in financial need.

MOST IMPROVED STUDENT AWARD
• Student who has shown most improvement
17.
MOTHER TERESA SERVICE AWARD
• Student who has demonstrated exemplary service leadership in various schoolwide events that provides assistance and/or service to those in need in our
communities
• Student who models in action, the example given by Mother Teresa
18.
PRINCIPAL’S AWARD
 A student who has turned around her/his secondary school career and has attained
success in her/his school effort
• A student who was struggling during Grades 9 and 10 with attendance, marks,
behavior etc., but has changed their outlook in life, and is succeeding in school.
They have dramatically improved attendance and behavior

STUDENT CATHOLIC LEADERSHIP AWARD
A student who displays strong Catholic leadership qualities
A student who best exemplifies the Catholic faith and Catholic school
philosophy
A student who has a strong family commitment
A student who can relate well to fellow students and teachers.
A student who is involved in school affairs and activities eg. Athletics, Student
Council etc.
A student who is involved in Community activities
A student who demonstrates a commitment to a difficult situation, task, problem,
etc, by having the courage and ambition to follow it through

STUDENT COUNCIL AWARD
• Must have been actively involved in at least two school organizations, clubs or
sport teams. A “school spirit promoter” with a good academic average of 65 %
minimum

SUPERINTENDENT’S AWARD
• Student whose involvement in extracurricular activities has been outstanding
throughout her/his time at Aquinas
22.
THE JACOR MARKETING AWARD FOR STUDENT EQUALITY
 A student who exemplifies equality by taking measures to prevent bullying and
promotes inclusion within the student body
23.
TORBRAM DENTAL COMMUNITY SPIRIT AWARD
 A student who is involved in community activities.
 A student who takes initiative to help their community
