The following Addendum contains clarifications and revisions to the construction documents issued for
bid 6/12/2015 for the above mentioned project. This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents
and modifies all previously issued specifications and drawings. Bidders shall update their Bidding
Documents with the information contained in this Addendum. Where new Drawings are enclosed with
this Addendum, discard the old Drawing and insert the new. Where Supplemental drawings (Sketches)
are enclosed with this Addendum, attach the Supplemental drawing to the documents as noted. Where
only written modifications are given, copy the information onto the appropriate Documents and note the
Addendum number. All items contained herein shall be included with the Bid. Acknowledge receipt of
this addendum by inserting the number and date on the bid form.
Note: This addendum does not modify the bid due date of Friday, June 19th.
General
1.A This addendum addresses questions received during / after the pre-bid meeting held on Monday,
June 15, 2015 and provides clarification for the drawings issued for construction on June 12, 2015.
1.B Please include an additional line item allowance in bid proposal for “Pre-function Room Data/AV” in
the amount of $2,750 total. This amount includes the control components for the space, which are
not included in the drawings attached. These specific items are still being determined by Xavier.
1.C The permit application was submitted on June 2nd, 2015 to the City of Cincinnati. This was a
comprehensive permit application including building, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work to be
completed for this project.
1.D Walls receiving custom paint colors (previously called out as part of a graphics package) are to be
included in bids provided by general contractors of this project. See revised sheet A9.0 (attached)
for paint selections and locations.

Sheet Keynote 1.09 added to this drawing, indicating to remove ceiling and salvage lighting in
existing lobby area.

the type of TV to be installed.

1.O Question:
Q: Will the owner’s furniture be removed prior to the demolition work starting?
A: Owner is responsible for removal of existing furniture from the area of work.
1.P Question:
Q: Drawing A2.0 note 2.03 references a branding package. Can you please explain what this is?
A: The branding package will be a separate contract for work within the Cintas Center Student
Athlete Academic Support Services area that is specific to signage, branding, and graphics.
1.Q Question:
Q: Drawing A2.0 calls out the windows in the new construction. Is there a window on the north wall of room
218? If so, which window type is it?
A: Window locations are called out on drawing A2.0 (attached). The north wall of Conference
Room 218 shows a door and frame with glazing. See sheet A5.0 Building Details from the
construction set for door, frame, and glazing information.

Q: In the [specifications] it shows the species/veneer for the wood door as per owner. Can you please
advise door finish so that we can accurately price?
A: Please match the finish of the existing doors to remain on Classroom 202, 203, and 204.

Q: Drawing A9.0 finish legend calls for SS-1 (solid surface countertop) for room 102. Can you please advise
where room 102 is?
A: Please see the revised drawing A9.0 Finish Plan and Schedule (attached) for finish locations
and information.
1.T Question:
Q: Drawing A9.0 calls for carpet in the existing electrical room. Do you want carpet installed in this area?
A: See revised drawing A9.0 (attached) showing Electrical Room 212 with a concrete floor finish.
1.U Question:
Q: Drawing A2.0 references interior elevations on A3.1. Can you please send me drawing A3.1? I did not
get in the original packet from the university
A: The drawing is issued as an attachment to this addendum.

1.V Question:
Q: Is there [an] electrical specification for the project? What is the spec on the TV's?
A: The seven (7) total TV’s in the project should all be the same type – 60” LED TV with ultra-thin
bezel as required for TV array installation as indicated in the attached drawings.
Questions from Wise Construction Company received on Tuesday, June 16th
1.W Question:
Q: Do the electricians provide patch work where they install blocking for the T.V. Brackets?
A: Any blocking and patching at TV locations should be coordinated between your electrician and
drywall repair subcontractors.
1.X Question:
Q: Has the VCT Mastic been tested for asbestos?
A: The VCT and mastic were installed in 2000 and 12”x12” dimensions; therefore, they are nonasbestos containing materials.
1.Y Question:
Q: Can drywall “Knock Down” frames be used to expedite the schedule?
A: Please match the existing frame types that have been used in the space and coordinate new
finishes with drawings A5.0 Building Details (provided in the For Construction Set) and A9.0 Finish
Plan and Schedule (attached).
1.Z Question:
Q: Is [there] 24 hour access [to the job site]?
A: This can be arranged with owner.

Q: We need direction on the VAV’s. The model number in the schedule is for a fan powered box. The detail
/ plan appears to show a regular box. There is quite a cost difference between the two [styles] of
