Our PLC was a guided discussion led by Olivia Dooley and Heather Shelton on data
teams. Susan Hammer introduced the DIAL strategy which is a diagnostic instrument to
analyze learning. This strategy is to be used with only free and reduced lunch students –
no ECE or regular education students.
We, as a math department, discussed next steps. We identified a strength of ours as
analyzing summative assessments; however, we feel we are not taking the time to share
the information with other grade level teachers which could be very informative. Mr.
Davis requested that in our common weekly planning meetings to be intentional about
sharing out test results/data results and finding ways to improve instruction.
