Celine discussed the previous predictions for FTE vs actual and also presented next year’s predicted FTE – letting us know how the schedule will be planned. The state is finally recognizing that non-credit courses are not necessarily easier to teach, and student success is contingent investing and building up the skills. Enhanced noncredit – defined as part of Certificate of Completion – Math, ESL, English Now that these courses will now be paid from the state at the same rate of pay as credit courses. There was also a handout and information provided on how FTES is calculated. b) Chris Moss – Student questionnaire for faculty evaluation process TABLED c) AS Plenary Session i) Canvas _ Common course management system. Lisa Storm has been part of the group piloting and investigating the use of Canvas as part of the OEI initiative. They are looking at it as statewide solution. States would like faculty forum. Move to bring it back for a forum at the next meeting MSchur Beymer S- Jason - A –U ii) Common Assessment Initiatives - Carol King A new initiative of a placement system that is open as a community college wide – that the scores will be able to be used across multiple community colleges. The faculty in English and Math faculty are being asked to examine the assessment criteria. 7) Action Items: a) BP/AP 5050, Student Success and Support Program Terms updated – student success vs matriculation M- Schur Beymer S- Hough UA Motion to table the A/P for some clarification. b) AP 5055, Enrollment Priorities – Discussion about language of “eligible” – does this mean nonparticipants in programs, but eligible persons can have priority.
