Fundraising Activities:
• Dance a thon $1500 for cost of DJ and prizes

Spirit wear is on sale. Order form to be sent
out before Christmas
Community Events:
• Movie night with limited seating for the
primary division, January 13 and February 25th
for Juniors
• MacDonald’s fundraising night proposed, with
Principal and staff working
• Advent Mass to be held December 1 at 7:15

The following activities have supported the development of faith life within the school community:
School liturgies: Remembrance Day
Advent
Christmas Concert Dec. 16 concerts at 9:30 am and 1 pm. This year’s concert will be based on “The
Best Story Ever Told”
Mass responses and Virtues education have been imbedded within the morning announcements
Grade 8’s have participated in a trip to Camp Brebeuf. A trip that held lots of fun and fond memories
for all.
Due to lack of participation the grade 8 trip to Ottawa has been cnacelled, an alternative trip will be
planned.
Program:
Within the area of program the following areas of information were shared:
EQAO: results and goal setting
Professional Learning Communities of teachers: actively involved in gaining further knowledge and
implementing the 3 Part Math lesson and meeting the needs of all learners
Schools in the middle training for grade 3 to grade 5
Numeracy: 3 Part Lesson
Literacy: Guided Reading
Student Work Study Teacher: working with our grade 1 teaching staff to determine the learning styles
of level two learners
Safe Schools:
Upgrade to school yard / pavement is underway.
RAID drug awareness program is beginning this winter: Grade 5
Peel Police have come in to present “The Law and You” grade 6 - 8
Safe Walk Routes program, very successful
Reduction of late students is an ongoing school priority
Moral Literacy program well underway
Roots of Empathy in Ms. DiFazio’s class
Relational Aggression Program with grade 8 girls
Virtue’s DVD: a new project for the school. We are creating a primary / junior DVD of virtuous
behaviour. We are looking for a community member who can assist us with filming.
Safe School Committee: volunteers are sought, please forward your name to Mrs. Steer
New Items: Annie is coming… a production of Annie has been planned for May 2010
