Meeting called to order at 12:01 p.m. by Trustee Padilla-Chavez.

COMMENTS
Ann Wright, Faculty Association, addressed anticipated cuts to the fall schedule and
urged that this not happen.
Abel Moran, community member, provided the Board with the 2012 Brown Act
changes regarding agendas for special meetings.
Trustee Padilla-Chavez announced that the Board of Trustees of Hartnell Community
College District would meet in Closed Session to consider legal, personnel, labor,
and/or contract matters authorized for Closed Session per Government Code
Sections, 3549.1, 54956.9, 54957 and/or 54957.6.

MOVED TO CLOSED The Board, Dr. Phoebe Helm, Superintendent/President, Terri Pyer, Associate Vice
President, Human Resources, moved to closed session at 12:07 p.m. to consider

Government Code Sections, 3549.1, 54956.9, 54957 and/or 54957.6. Legal counsel,
Mary Dowell, Liebert, Cassidy, Whitmore, joined the Board via telephone.

PUBLIC SESSION
Trustee Padilla-Chavez reconvened the public session at 12:35 p.m.
REPORT OUT FROM Trustee Padilla-Chavez reported on a motion by Trustee Gonzalez-Castro, seconded
by Trustee Donohue, and by unanimous vote, the Board moved to terminate the
CLOSED SESSION
employment contract of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Accreditation.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 12:36 p.m.
