Francis McSpiritt School to the grade 3/4 class. We also welcome Mrs. Moretti who is teaching the Arts. We are very excited to have Fr. Vito visiting the school regularly. During his visits he will spend most of his time visiting with students who will be receiving the Sacraments this year but he visits all of the classes as much as possible. On behalf of the staff of St. Patrick School, we hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! May you make the most of the opportunities of gathering with friends and family for times of prayer and fellowship; these times present us with the chance to strengthen the bonds that unite us as a caring Catholic community! God Bless, Mrs. N. Resendes . PAGE 2 Virtue of the Month– Empathy God has given us the ability to form connections with each other—to live together. Empathy helps us to connect and live together in safe, caring, inclusive communities. An empathic person believes that we all share one Spirit; that we are many parts of one body because we are all created in the image and likeness of God. We know that God has given us the virtue of empathy so that we can learn to appreciate, accept and care for one another. Parking Lot Safety PAGE 4 Important Parking Lot Information Morning Drop-Off Routine Parents who do not wish to park their car in a designated parking spot may drop off children .You may use the DROP OFF ZONE established in the parking lot, at the bend near the school yard. This has been identified with painted lines on the pavement in the near future and a stop sign installed as well. Parents are asked to stop at the drop off zone and students should disembark from the right side of the vehicle. Other vehicles are asked not to pass cars waiting to drop off. Students exiting vehicles should not be going around the back of the vehicle to the trunk as this is unsafe. By following this system we can have two cars unload at a time. Once those vehicles have moved on then the next vehicles can pull up and unload. Buses will be asked to wait behind the line up and then pull up in front of the school to unload, as usual. We ask that cars no longer pull up against the curb in the area along the sidewalk/garden. End of the day Pick-Up Routine We would ask that if there are no more parking spaces available in the parking lot that parents wait in the church parking lot until they see that the 3 large school buses have arrived. Once all of the buses have arrived. Parents are asked to pull up behind the buses in a line. No cars will be permitted to leave the parking lot until all buses have departed. Once the buses have left parents are asked to pull up to the curb and we will call your children out for you. TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION Thank you for your cooperation with this pick up system. WEBSITE: businfo.stopr.ca Ques ons or Concerns Regarding Transporta on? 905‐890‐6000 Or 1‐800‐668‐1140 Important Please have your child's OEN (Ontario Education Number) ready when calling. STOPR will not be able to give out student information without it. You can find the OEN number on the report card or by contacting the Terry Fox Run & BBQ On September 26th all students at St. Patrick School participated in the Terry Fox Walk. In doing so, they joined thousands all over Canada and in many countries around the world, in an attempt to fulfill the dream of the young man who started the Marathon of Hope in 1980. His dream was to raise money for cancer research and, a quarter of a century later, his dream is kept alive by the efforts of participants such as our own students. Special thanks to the School Council and the parent volunteers who barbecued hot dogs for all of the students! What a wonderful tradition! VITO (St. Patrick’s Church – Brampton) Dear Parents, Students and Staff, It is with great joy that I extend to you all blessings from this holy place that we call our parish church. It was only three months ago that my bishop invited me to come to Brampton and begin my ministry as pastor of St. Patrick’s. What a beautiful opportunity to worship and minister here in your midst; in the second oldest church in the Archdiocese of Toronto, and the place where the first Catholic School was created to serve the academic and spiritual needs of the community. What a beautiful tradition we have inherited and what an awesome opportunity for each one of us to add our own gifts to continue building on what others have initiated and through which an important part of our history has been marked. As I get to know the community more and more, as I visit our schools and cherish the many beautiful expressions of our faith, imbedded in our traditions, and see how you, the parents and family members are continuing the commitment made at your children’s baptism, I thank you for all that you do to make concrete the faith we profess. I look forward to sharing time and prayer with you, in our moments of worship and all that will mark our time together. I invite all of you who may be new in our area to introduce yourselves to me at Mass (5:00 p.m. on Saturday, 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday – English Masses; and 11:30 a.m. Italian Mass on Sunday). With the local bishop, his Excellency John Boissonneau, we are examining ways in which we may increase and facilitate our service to our community. If you attend other parishes, please convey my greetings and best wishes to your parish priests. I look forward to working together with them for the good of our entire community. October is the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary. I entrust our school communities and all our families to the love and protection of Our Blessed Mother, Mary, the Mother of Jesus and of the Church. I promise to remember you all in my prayers and especially at Mass. With gratitude to the Lord for all of you, I remain, Sincerely yours, Father Vito Marziliano (Rev.) Vito Marziliano, Pastor.
