PORT SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM Supports the nation’s critical port infrastructure against risks associated with potential terrorist attacks. Connected Justice EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT FOR LOCAL AND STATE PROGRAMS JAG funds can be used for state and local public safety initiatives. GRANTS TO ENCOURAGE ARREST POLICIES AND ENFORCEMENT OF PROTECTION ORDERS PROGRAM Recognizes that sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking are crimes that require the criminal justice system to hold offenders accountable for their actions. COORDINATED TRIBAL ASSISTANCE SOLICITATION (CTAS) Provides federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia with opportunities to develop a comprehensive and coordinated approach to public safety and victimization issues. Fire Suppression ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANTS (AFG) Awards one-year grants directly to fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical services (EMS) organizations to enhance their abilities with respect to fire and fire-related hazards. Helping You Find Grant Answers To Your Public Safety Questions School Safety SCHOOL CLIMATE TRANSFORMATION Provides competitive grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) to develop, enhance, or expand systems of support for, and technical assistance to, schools implementing an evidence-based multi-tiered behavioral framework for improving behavioral outcomes and learning conditions for all students. PROJECT PREVENT Provides grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) to increase their capacity to help schools in communities with pervasive violence to better address the needs of affected students and to break the cycle of violence. Courts COURT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM Provides grants for activities aimed at increasing the safety, permanency, and wellbeing of children in the child welfare system. COURT TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM Recognizes that judicial education and specialized court processes play an integral role in effective responses to the crimes of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. SECOND CHANCE ACT OFFENDER REENTRY PROGRAM FOR PLANNING AND DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS Furthers the department’s commitment to providing services and programs to help facilitate the successful reintegration of offenders as they return to their communities. SECOND CHANCE ACT TECHNOLOGY CAREERS TRAINING DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS FOR INCARCERATED ADULTS AND JUVENILES Increases the post-release employability of offenders in related technology-based jobs and career fields. SECOND CHANCE ACT JUVENILE OFFENDER REENTRY PROGRAM FOR DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS Provides juvenile offenders with appropriate evidence-based services, including addressing individual needs.
