ELIZABETH SANDERS HENNING NURSING SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship was established in 2001 in honor of Mrs. Henning. Elizabeth was a 1939 graduate of Austin Tracy High School. She received her nursing degree from John Hopkins University in 1943, graduating with honors. She worked professionally in hospitals in the Baltimore area and in private nursing until her death in 1986. Upon the death of her husband, an endowment in honor of his late wife was established for a scholarship for Barren County High School graduates entering the nursing field. The scholarship will be awarded to one or more applicants upon acceptance into an LPN or RN program. The scholarship amount is contingent upon endowment interest earned yearly. Applicants may apply yearly throughout nursing education. Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee. Applications will be provided to local nursing education facilities or may be obtained from Sarah Vincent, Secretary/Treasurer Barren County Education Foundation 1885 Berry Store Road, Glasgow, KY.
