With respect to the five shared priorities, schools are required to complete the table, below, including a summary of Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) assessment performance and progress at the school. Catholicity St. Aloysius Gonzaga models, celebrates and nourishes gospel values in the teaching and learning of our Christ-centered programs and services through: • • • Student participation in social justice service School-wide initiative supporting stewardship of the earth Enhancing faith formation of all community members by strengthening the adult faith ambassador team Learning Environment The school’s most recent EQAO Grade 9 mathematics assessment performance: • • • Grade 9 Academic Mathematics: 94% of all students are above the Board and provincial standard (level 3 and 4) Grade 9 Applied Mathematics 71% of all students are above the Board and provincial standard (level 3 and 4) Observations regarding school progress in Grade 9 EQAO: In Grade 9 Academic Mathematics, there was a 1% increase in the number of students who were above the Board and provincial standard (level 3 and 4) from 2013-2014. In Grade 9 Applied Mathematics, there was a 4% increase in the number of students who were above the Board and provincial standard (level 3 and 4) from 2013-2014. The school’s most recent Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) performance: • • • OSSLT results for First-Time Eligible Students: 95% of all first time eligible students who fully participated are above the Board and provincial standard (level 3 and 4) OSSLT results for Previously Eligible Students: 49% of all previously eligible students who fully participated were successful. Observations regarding school progress on the OSSLT: The number of first time eligible students that were successful in 2013-2014 remains the same. There was a 3% increase in the number of previously eligible students who were successful in 2013-2014 and this continues to be a focus for the school this year. Particular emphasis will be placed on implementing strategies that support individual student needs.
