B & N Updates
•University Center – Store changes during UC renovations
Ongoing construction, all the textbook department is now a part of the
construction zone. We are still open for business! Spread the word!
We have several new managers at the store. Mark Badgett, Assistant manager,
L’erin Holmes, Textbook Manager, Rochelle Osborne, Operations, Patricia
Turner, School Supplies and Surashri Pahi, Law store Manager.
 Tameka Eugene, 20 year bookstore textbook manager is now the assistant
manager at UHSSL.
 Move to the new store is scheduled to begin December 21, 2013 through
January 01, 2014.

Textbook Adoptions
Key Targets for Spring 2014
First Due Date: October 25, 2013
Registration start date November, 4 2013
72% submitted by Dec 1, 2013 for Spring 2013
Adoption campaign began September 2013, emails, letters, flyers,
reminders, and videos.
10% adoptions submitted for Spring 2014 (10/22/13)
B & N Upcoming events
 Fall end of the semester Textbook book buyback will begin December 2
through December 19. Location UH Bookstore
 Textbook Rental Check-Ins will begin December 9 through December 19,
2013, notifications will be sent out.
 Cap & Gown Distribution will begin November 26 through graduation day for
all Fall 2013 graduates.
 December 20, 2013 is the last day we will be open to the public in the current
location.
Soft opening of the new location will be January 02, 2014.
Grand Opening/ribbon cutting scheduled January 28, 2014.
Textbook Subcommittee
•This is an annual Sub-Committee created to focus specifically on textbook
adoptions and affordability. This year we are charged with ensuring that the
Student Government Association (SGA) has standard protocols for textbook
adoptions.
This committee increases awareness and helps to understand the
textbook adoption and affordability parameters.
Continue to work on creating the document for the SGA standards.
Review/Develop communication plan. Review video for distribution.
Determine the date and agenda for our next Town Hall meeting .
